Kittens. Puppies are cute but they demand too much attention, mess everywhere and chew things. Kittens love to play and sleep all day.

I would have to go with puppies in that I prefer dogs to cats though I have no experience of what kittens are like. Puppies are quite a bit of work but I will still stick with them.
