Depends on the situation but all things being equal i much prefer the mountains.

How is your relationship with your parents?
With my mom great with my dad not so great. After my parents split he disappeared into work and has stayed there for the most part. It's not that we don't get along he just is rarely fully there in the room. he has gotten a lot better since grandchildren but it was tough growing up.
