were you nonverbal as a toddler?

no, i talked before the milestone age of talking and i talked often; however i only spoke spanish despite understanding english & being taught both simultaneously.
the only thing is i did talk to a very select few amount of people, my sisters thought i was nonverbal for a while bc they were not part of that few so they didnt hear me talk 💀

At what age did you start displaying symptoms of autism?

a few months old/infancy - basically when i began being a person and not a baby npc yknow ? but basically not talking/babbling, not sleeping (insomnia), digestive issues, temperature regulation issues (always hot or cold, and never appropriately), and stimming (i stimmed with the tag of stuffed animals). symptoms obviously became more apparent as i got older bc the social & more mental symptoms started to present, but they were dismissed bc i had the "likeable" autism... aka autism that goes untreated and therefore snowballs and eventually avalanches in adult (where i am now... with autistic burnout).

ig thats subjective? i see myself as a person of few friends but my parents both say i have a lot... but theyre both neurodivergent so their judgement is clouded (i say that with love)

what accent is considered to be the "standard" or "non-accent", at least in the states? i've noticed that in movies or tv shows, people tend to avoid using heavy accents or accents that are specific to a region. i read that actors in theaters are trained to neutralize ther accent.

what you see for generic american in film is as close to standard as you'll get- most americans think they don't have an accent (myself included, formerly) and then you meet other americans from elsewhere and its like Oh No. i have a pretty generic american accent but some words (accent, for example) bring out my texan & others (yeah, sure) bring out a californian accent???? not sure what thats about but that is trauma i am not trying to unpack rn
that being said there are stronger accents than others; imo the northern accent (north dakota / minnesota area), typical southern accent (bible belt area) & east coast (nyc & new jersey area) are the strongest accents.

Are ADHD and autism similar? I read that a lot of people get misdiagnosed with ADHD instead of autism and vice versa

theyre both learning disabilities and have some overlapping symptoms but overall, no they are nothing similar imo. most people who are misdiagnosed are those with "female autism" or "female adhd" (previously dxed as add). i wonder why /s
