theme for inktober 8 was from g*retober once again: posession. and instead of taking the easy way out with crypt or estella (since i technically drew laird’s yesterday) — i did aspen
aspen isn’t tied down to any religion like the other three occults — in fact he hates religion and is an atheist (although he later becomes agnostic for obvious reasons) — so his possession isn’t as straight forward as their’s, since all three of them technically manages to summon their possessors via their tie to their respective faiths. aspen on the other hand... well

best work; college combined with working nearly full time plus working on a whole ass webcomic, not to mention trying to hold your life together by paying for needed things and taking care of yourself and trying to fit in any morsel of socialization, is hard as fuck. its exhausting, and i'm sure a lot of your followers either already know that, or will very soon. your art is a blessing to look at regardless of how often it is posted or how "well" you believe it is done, and true fans of yours will understand that and appreciate it. you're such a strong person, but don't push yourself too hard angel, we all love you and care about you, and we understand ???

thank you,, this means a lot. idk i've just been like enormously stressed lately, october is always when my depression starts acting up and that obviously triggers my other disorders esp my psychosis which, from a creative standpoint is absolutely GREAT (suffering leads to good art and at this point being miserable is just,, comfortable for me) but from everyother standpoint it's just liek HEWWO? HEWWO I AM DROWNIGN MR OBWAMA PWEASE-,, so i mean. yikes. that adjustment from relatively okay to miserable aka this month + november are,,, so awful fdshfkjaksfa
also i have midterms soon idek when tho so that's easily about 7 hours of work per class at least i have to do in the next 1 - 2 weeks. idk i'm just not really used to doing homework since i never did it in high school lol and now i have to bc i needt o maintain my gpa for the honour society thing i'm in & bc i'm trying to get into this lab lmao. college sucks
and inktober falling smack in the middle of this is very rude and unhelpful quite frankly
also no man's land is supposed to debut january 24th so i need to start official pages as soon as my editor finishes with the script, i have to finish the animated trailer by october 31st and i have a multi animator project part due like somewhere in november (16th??) and that's barely storyboarded lmao
christ i'm sorry i rambled i just have so much on my plate and my seasonal depression said it's her turn to play xbox so uh we sufferin up in this bitch

like... the reason i text my mother so much is so i can have some semblance of a healthy relationship with the woman who birthed me? irl she’s usually yelling or mad at me so god forbid i try to text my mom tweets i think she’d like. i’ve been pretty open about the fact my relationship with her is basically nonexistant.

i wasn’t originally gonna post today bc i worked 3 hours ot and am absolutely exhausted but i felt really bad & guilty so . here’s a doodle
reverse au i guess
started as an edgy reverse estella but i realised i’ve?? never drawn reverse crypt hm
there’s actual thought behind this btw haha ,, changed estella’s
colours esp her hair to be ever so slightly closer to teal on the spectrum and pulled crypt’s colours closer to cerulean. i also gave crypt his original design’s hair since it makes him look softer and made stell’s hair spikier ig. in this au crypt keeps his moth wings.
also crypt’s halo has a crack from him dating aspen (who would be a demon), in the regular story he loses a spike on his halo from doing this — and a split from something else he does (which gains him a spike in the normal universe). estella’s cracks on her halo just got turned into spikes ofc
crypt’s new symbol would be a star of david rather than an inverted star (i didn’t want to give him christian symbolism bc he’s jewish and also didn’t want to give a regular star bc that’s boring), and estella’s is just a peter’s cross/inverted cross lmao
