How do I stop being socially awkward? i have this part to go to tommorrow, and most likley I won't even go. I'm too nervous. ick
finding your self-confidence can be really difficult!
it's one of the hardest thing in the world to achieve, but also one of the most rewarding.
if it's about worrying about being judged or a lull in the conversation, remember that the people who /would/ judge you for such petty things are obviously dealing with problems of their own and aren't worth your time if putting people down is how they decide to deal with them.
you're amazing in every aspect, and you deserve to know that and flaunt it without nerves about things like parties and meeting new people. i used to coop myself up in my bedroom every weekend - and sometimes i still do, because everyone needs a break every once in a while - but life is so much better when you push yourself out of your comfort zone, of course starting with small steps.
go to parties or go into town with your friends and make goals for yourself. things like, "i will talk to at least one new person at the party tonight." or "i'll order everyone's drinks for them."
even smaller things at first if you'd rather! build it up from wherever's necessary.
confidence in yourself comes with time, but cheesy things like looking in the mirror and saying, "i can talk to people. i can hold a conversation with a stranger. i can do this." really do help. i wish you the best of luck, beautiful! x
