Tough one :-) there's a lot of people who have inspired and also people I just like listening to :-) I'll give you a list Van Halen Guns N Roses Dire Straits The Stone Roses The Beatles Michael Jackson The Beach Boys Kings of LeonThe list could go on :-)
Hey James! Big fan of yours! Love your technique and approach to phrasing! I was wondering what strings and picks you use?
Thanks
Thanks man! That really means a lot :-) I use Daddario 10-46 and have recently changed the picks I use :-) I originally used Dunlop Jazz iii's and then changed to Dunlop Ultex Sharp :-) I'm currently using Dunlop Tortex 1.14 Thanks
i really like your technique dude, and your picking is nice and clean ,how did you practice it and how do you hold a pick etc. thanks , ny help is appreciated buddy,im having some trouble, especially with synchronisation with the left and right hands
Hey thankyou :-) I spent a lot of time on my picking with by finding fast licks that used alternative picking economy etc... I played to a metronome and slowly sped up! A good way to make sure your picking is clean is to practice on the clean channel and then add gain. In terms of synchronizing your left and right hand is pretty simple to. Just start slow and speed up :-) You'll find if you slowly speed up with a metronome it won't be as hard as trying to play fast straight away. You will also find it a lot cleaner :-)
What is Rob Chapman like to work with? are you good friends with him and does he help the artists out? :D i wish i was endorsed by him, you're greaaat btw!:-)
Its early days at the moment so I cant comment :-)
What would be your ultimate guitar and what pick ups would you choose to be fitted?
To be honest my dream is pretty much what I have now :-) My ML2 gives me everything I need! I have the volume knob close for swells, the set neck for sustain, humbuckers that split, a fast neck and big fret for bends! And the stock pickups are great!
