if they fessed up, felt genuine guilt over it, and expressed that they would do anything to fix things/make things right, i would give them a second chance. if they actually changed their behavior and remained endlessly loyal to me after the fact, then the forgiveness would come.

Hmmm. No. no I don't think I could. I believe that some of the biggest parts that make up love are trust and loyalty, and if someone breaks one or both of these and they are forgiven, the odds that they will do so again are likely.
