Why is it that if someone tells you that there are 1 billion stars in the universe you will believe them, but if they tell you a wall has wet paint you will have to touch it to be sure?
Because we can touch the wall and stars are beyond our reach

When did that happen?
Because it would be difficult, if not impossible, to count a billion stars. In such a case it would be easier to accept than verify. Whereas, it is easier to check if the paint is wet or not!
Humans in most cases look for the easy way out! I guess that is why today's technology has become so popular because it is all to do with personal comfort!
