how do you explain to me how CPR to a child?🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
• Get the kid lay on their back and check their airway is clear (no vomit or blockages).
• Pinch their nose closed firmly.
• Cover their mouth with your mouth creating an seal with your lips so it's as airtight as possible, then breathe air //steadily// into their airway. ❗DON'T BREATHE INTO THEM IN HARD GUSTS❗Push the air in slowly and watch until their chest rises as the lungs fill.
• Remove your mouth and let the chest fall as the air leaves their lungs. Repeat this 3-4 times.
CHEST COMPRESSIONS:
Now you have to give 30 chest compressions.
• Place the heel of one hand in the centre of their chest, whilst keeping the fingers lifted and off the ribs.
• Lean over the kid with the arm straight and pressing down vertically on their chest. Press firmly (around a third of the chest's depth down).
• Stop pressing down (but don't remove your hand) and allow the chest to rise fully. This is 1 compression.
DO THIS 30 TIMES AT A RATE OF AROUND 2 COMPRESSIONS PER SECOND.
• Now, give 2 more of the rescue breaths as described above.

• If the child starts breathing normally again, put them in the recovery position.
❗Always call for help if anyone isn't breathing.❗
