I understand what youre saying also but diabetes is a condition where if you monitor it and look after yourself those side effects can be prevented and risks minimised. Treatment is there to do exactly what you mentioned - lessen the pain and struggle.

I get that. I do.
But diabetes is an incredibly hard to control condition.
You can do /everything/ by the book and still turn up a HI blood result, - HI being a result that means your blood sugar level is so high that a home monitor cannot read it.
You can take your blood, do insulin for everything you eat and drink, compensate and correct for every unit you are over your normal range and still end up in DKA.
And you know what DKA leads to?
Death.
I've been there.
Ask @JizzmineBaconTree because I can't even talk about it.
People don't seem to understand that diabetes is a killer.
Bloods too high? DKA and death.
Bloods too low? Diabetic coma and death.
Every single day is a battle and when you're insulin dependant you know it will never go away.
Complications happen regardless of how well you look after yourself because it's a debilitating, life-long disease.

If you can turn the person you dislike into anything in your house what would you turn them into and why?

Um nothing in my house bc they would then be in my house and just bc they are a hoover doesn't mean I'll stop disliking them. I'd just have a grudge against a Dyson????

lol well someone threatened me with a wedgie and I want to make sure it doesn't hurt

It's a wedgie. No matter what you do, it will hurt.

If you're about to be given a wedgie, is it smarter to go in wearing a thong or bikini cut?

This is gross and something I have never thought about.

I can't help that I'm a sentimental person. I lived life for a long time, and even though I don't know you, I know what it's like to hurt, and see others have problems. I just don't feel right with you having DKA. I really hope you will be ok.

You're such a lovely person Liz and that means so much to me.
I haven't been in DKA for a while now and I'm okay. Couple of battle scars from all the other episodes of it but other than that, I'm alive and kicking! ^-^

sorry if this offends u but u have mentioned artery lines before but what are they??

TW BLOOD
I'm not offended :)
An arterial line/arterial catheter is like a v big cannula that is inserted using a v long wire and needle into the main artery of your wrist unlike a normal cannula that goes into the vein.
It has to be flushed continually or purged so that it can be used to take blood hourly or w/e. They inject a local anaestethic before inserting it as it's technically a procedure.

I'm really sad, now. I just don't feel right. You being sick like this. I just hate it.

Silver Wings of Harmony
Aw sweetie don't worry about it okay? That was earlier this year and I've been okay since. It happens sometimes and unfortunately because I've been diabetic for so long already, I am becoming slightly insulin resistant, so it sometimes DKA happens. Aw sweetie.
