Why didn't you just go straight to hospital rather than trying to get on a load of buses?

Because initially I just felt rough and usually it takes a whole day for DKA to get that bad.
But this time was different.

What even happened to you?! :( x

Short version: on Friday I almost died in my boyfriend's arms in the middle of the street.
Long version: So, I'm a T1 diabetic and have been for 15 years. I am insulin dependent and I use an electronic device called an Omnipod to deliver my insulin via a cannula that I have to change every 3 days.
On Thursday night last week, I was at Liam's house and at around 2am we went to bed after being on Skype for a few hours.
During the night I kept getting up to pee but I thought nothing of it as I was tired and kept returning to bed.
At around 11am I woke up feeling like crap. I poked Liam, told him something was wrong and proceeded to check my blood sugar. It was at 20.9 (normal range is between 4.0 and 9.0) so I realised that my Pod had failed some time during the night which meant there was no insulin in my system which meant I was going to get very ill if I didn't replace my Pod.
So I went into my bag to get my spare Pod and lo and behold, when i put insulin inside it, the insulin leaked out and therefore the Pod couldn't be used.
At this moment, it turns into a crisis.
So I say to Liam: "I need to get home I need insulin" and he said right, let's go and we got ready and left for the bus stop in minutes.
However, symptoms of DKA had begun to show. (DKA or Diabetic Ketoacidosis is when the blood becomes acidic and produces poisonous gases and ketones because the person's blood sugar levels are too high).
I was becoming light sensitive, my chest hurt, i was retching, my stomach hurt and as soon as i started walking it became hard to breathe.
Liam and I decided it would be easier to get the 79 bus to Stretford Mall then the 255 back to my house so we got on the 79 and off we went.
It took a while to get to Stetford and I could feel myself getting worse and worse.
Once we got to the mall we got off the bus and I must have walked about 5ft before i squatted by the railings and told Liam I needed a minute.
I was in so much pain.
It felt like my lungs were collapsing and that my heart was failing on me. My head was pounding and I felt nauseous even though i hadn't even had a whiff of food. The daylight was blinding and i could barely keep my eyes open as the pain was excruciating.
Anyway, minutes later I had deteriorated to a point where I had to lie in Liam's lap on the pavement because I was exhausted and so seriously ill that my body had begun what the ICU nurses called: "total shut-down".
At this point, because my body was shutting down, my memory goes. I don't know what happened after that.
All I know is that if the ambulance hadn't turned up when it did, I would have died in the middle of the pavement in Liam's arms.
Okay so skip forward to Saturday morning.
I come around properly and I have no idea where I am.
I ask a nurse who tells me i am in thr Intensive Care Unit at Wythenshawe Hospital.
Yep. Intensive Care.
I look around and notice that I have a Femoral Arterial Line in my groin which requires a minor surgical procedure to insert. I have

Who is your style role model?

I don't have one to be honest.
I like skinny jeans and baggy tops. I like chunky boots and platforms.
I like to display my geeky side with my clothes whilst still looking good (if I can).
Idk.

HAHAHAHA OMF LOVE U GIRL , anon go suck an ass her Picture just shut you up , OMFG HAHAHAHA xxxxx

What's the most valuable thing that you own?

I don't really own anything of high monetary value but there's a lot of sentiment behind lots of things in my room.
Naomi my teddy.
Oddly, my books.
Cinema tickets.
Idek.

Have you ever been in a situation on a bus/field trip where a teacher has let guys pee but not girls?

I don't think I have... I haven't been on that many school trips tbh.

What if you found true love BUT it was with someone that tickle-tortured you for one hour per day?

I'm like to get a punch or two in there because I lash out when I'm tickled, so I guess I'd get even via that.

Would you rather be rich and never find true love, or find true love and be poor?

Definitely the latter. With someone by your side who truly, genuinely and completely loves and cares for you, you can overcome poverty and pennilessness, etc.
