what were some of your favorite scenes that you had to cut out in thh?

they're not exactly scenes so much as they are lines and dialogues actually
like the "hey, is that my shirt?" part
or some of the convos i had to cut out with them in the car on their way to school (bc those driving scenes were honestly so repetitive and stuff)
or the phone call when seth admitted that he misses having kyla around and they end up just talking and stuff
or some of the cafeteria scenes (that i once again had to cut out bc they were repetitive and unnecessary in driving the plot forward)
idk i can't really name particular scenes hahaha still, i really like a lot of the new scenes in the rewritten version. i love how they opened up more with each other. and i love that cedric has a larger presence in the story. plus, i like the whole argument with her mother thing bc it makes more sense now. idk i feel like i had a better grasp of the story when i rewrote it so yeah i like it this way ahaha

yup. :) i don't think i can ever delete it.
i know i said i'm happier with the new version, but that doesn't mean it was easy for me to remove so many of my favorite parts. seriously. i wasn't. and lots of times i thought "fuck it i'll just leave it as it is" but then i try to re-read it and i can't stop cringing with all the immature and stupid parts so yeah.

Hi Sam! :) I am a rereader of THH. Uhmm, I just wanna ask, how would the story of THH go if you were to change it? Because you've mentioned in one of your blog posts that if not for the sake of the readers of the old version of THH, you would've changed it... I was just curious, sorry.

hi! don't be sorry! it's honestly fine and thank you so much for reading it (again haha).
well, i would probably
- remove some of the unnecessary characters (possibly rev, dan, lily)
- use a different time period, as in, get it out of school and make it a summer story or something
- add more stuff about the characters' family (like i don't think i ever mentioned any of their uncles or aunts or grandparents and that really really makes it unrealistic, at least for me)
- make kyla a stronger character (the way it's written now, the plot drives her forward when she should be the one driving the plot forward)
- change the title FFS I REALLY REALLY DETEST THE TITLE
- be more aware of the time and settting (like, i don't think i ever made the characters celebrate a holiday like the story reached the month of november, but they didn't even mention halloween or whatever?)

My friend says Seth was perfect in the first version and Cedric reminds him of someone in his life..someone who left without any explanation. He also loved the way the emotions and overall story was written.. He's sad that you removed the chapter 'The Birthday Suit' (he told me what happens there xD

Tbh I didn't feel like I changed Seth all that much, really. Kyla's the only one who really changed (because seriously she was too immature and stupid at the start of the old version and as much as i hate having to cut out so many of my favorite parts, i'll never regret getting rid of all that immaturity)
i stuck with seth's character completely, so i'm not sure how, exactly, people see him differently now. if anything, i just explored his character further with the new version by making him talk more about his life but even then, he's still the same person. :/
ah, yes. the birthday suit chapter hahaha. please do tell him that i miss a lot of all the scenes i removed or changed. really, i do. but even then, i'm still happier with the new version bc i feel like it explores so much more of the character's stories and relationships, which i failed to do back then.

My friend is just so shocked to see the new version of THH. Well he was the one to recommend me THH and right after that you changed the story. So when he read the story again he totally got surprised and upset as well. According to him, the previous one was better :p

tell him i say thanks for reading and recommending it :) i'm glad he at least enjoyed the original version. there's really nothing i can do but eh i've long accepted that i can't please everybody. it happens hahaha
if anything, do tell him i apologize and, if possible, can you ask him why, exactly, he thinks it's better? (it's okay if you don't hahahahaha)
