Depends on mood & circumstance . . .
~ "SIT" ~ is what one might say to their dog (though with my dog its more likely to be "sidown-please" , . . . or , "dammit-willya-sit-fukkin-down!")
~ otherwise ; "arrm , let's take-a chair" . . . . LOL . !
~ but , both the options you offer , I find unnecessarily blunt or even rude . . .
~ even when one may be conducting a ceremony , or presentation , or lecture ; some thing formal ; one would say : "please be seated" ~

INTELLECT is how much data & quality of data (ie intelligence) you can absorb AND efficiently STORE (& is available for use when needed) . . . .
