Have you ever caught yourself flirting? Online or offline? What did you do?
I am, by nature, a very friendly and outgoing person. It took me a while to figure out the fine line between my natural personality and actually being considered a flirt. Yes, I have caught myself flirting before. What did I do about it? I told myself to stop being an idiot and asked God to help me treat the guy like a brother. Needless to say, the rest of my day went along pretty well;)
What is the one thing you want most in your life right now?
Right at this moment: A recording studio and some chocolate.
If I asked every person you've ever had a friendship with how you treated them, do you think they all would respond positively?
Well I know I'm not a perfect person, therefore I'm not a perfect friend. But I do hope that, for the most part, they would say that they've been blessed by my friendship.
You seem like a person that thinks she's always right. Are you?
I'm curious why you'd think that I'm that type of person cuz I for sure know that I'm not 100% correct ALL the time. haha
Why do you fish for compliments so much?? (your 'bedhead' picture) "I'm gonna delete this..." wow, that was obvious. ;]
haha how was that 'obvious' that I was 'fishing for a compliment'? I was legitimately going to delete that picture. And I seriously hate when girls fish for compliments, so I never do. If I come across as such, it is most definitely unintentional;)
Does your hair grow quickly? It's so long and pretty, but I remember when you cut it shorter awhile ago on your blog! :)
Awww, thank you:) Yes, it grows pretty fast! I haven't cut it for about two years. Trimmed it three times in those two years, though. I've actually been thinking about cutting it and getting it styled for this summer...we'll see;)
Speaking of the Hunger Games, there's something I didn't quite understand. The entire beginning was about looking your best to get the best grade in order to attract the best sponsor. With that in mind, how did the sponsors in any way help their player during the game? I never did understand why hav
I'm guessing you've only seen the movie and not read the books;) Because in the books, it goes into much more detail about WHY it's so important to have sponsors. Haymitch explains that if you have sponsors, basically, you will have a better chance of survival. Not because they can help you kill other tributes, but because they can help keep you alive - with medicine, food, etc. When Katniss gets burnt, one of her sponsors sends her a balm that heals it. If she hadn't have gotten that, her leg could've gotten infected and she could've easily died within a day. Hope this clears this up for you a little:)
Are you interested in any guys right now? Or are you still waiting for the right one?
I am blessed to know some amazing Christian guys. I admire and respect them, but interested? No...I'm still waiting for God to show me the right one:)
Do you have a boyfriend? When do you think is an acceptable age to start dating? :)
No I don't have a boyfriend at the moment:) For everyone, the 'age to start dating' varies depending on the person themselves. Personally, my parents said I could start courting when I was 16. For others, their parents would like them to wait till they're a little older than that.
If you could star in a movie based on a book, what would the book be, and what character would you play?
A movie based on a book that HAS BEEN made already?: The Hunger Games...and I would love, love, love to play Johanna Mason. A movie based on a book that HASN'T BEEN made?: Hmmmmm...any of the Louis L'Amour or Mary Johnston books. Character? Any heroine. haha
How did you get started with blogging?
I thought it'd be a fun outlet for my author's brain and I had been praying that God would open doors for me to start ministering to peers. Voila! 'God's Daughter' began!
Do you have any people that you aspire to be like (other than Christ) when you're older? And why those ones?
I have quite a few role models. Some being: my Mama, Barbara Spooner Wilberforce, Catherine Marshall, Katherine Von Bora, Anna Jackson, Dolley Madison...just to name a few. Why? hmm...I think that would be better explained in a blog post;)
Hey I've always wondered this....but what's your name?
haha I've had a few readers ask me this. It really is Raquel:)
How well can you cook?
My Mama taught me well. And I can safely say that I've cooked over hundreds of meals for a family of 9 and no one has yet died;)
In your opinion, how old should someone be when they start courting, get married, or move out?
It totally depends on the person themselves. Are they mature? Are they sound in their faith? Can the defend their beliefs? Are they happy being single? The list goes on;) But really, it's all about the person themselves.
Bottom line: he must love the LORD with all his heart (i.e. more than he loves me); want to love me as much as Christ loves the church; must want to lead me closer to God, not pull me closer to himself; and desire to raise a family for His glory.
Are you currently seeking/in a relationship?
I'm totally open to whatever God has planned for me relationship-wise. Whether that be now or ten years from now. But I wouldn't say 'seeking'. The man should be the one pursuing me. And no, I am currently not in a relationship:)
What do you like best about your hometown?
It's Portland. It's basically all around beautiful and fun.
Which is your favorite dessert?
I love cheesecake...and cherry pie...and Russian Cream...I'll just stop now. Haha
What do you look like when you wake up in the morning?
Haha I actually posted a pic of me on Instagram with bed hair and no makeup. You can see it there: @itsjustraquel
Have you ever had someone take credit for something you created/wrote? If so, what did you do?
I have actually. I came across a blog of a girl who was posting my stuff and calling it her own. I emailed her about it and asked her to please stop. And if she DID want to post my writings, to ask for my permission first and also link back to my blog.
