Ask @jess_girlgerms:

What is your favorite flower?

EASY! Gerberas. So big and colourful and vibrant - and if they're looked after well, they can last for 2-3 weeks cut in water.
The were the flowers I had in my bouquet for my wedding ^_^

What do you think people think of you?

Bitch. Sarcastic. Bossy. Stubborn. Purple. Control freak. Weirdo. Cranky. Angry. Obsessive. Emotional. Passionate. Opinionated. Anxious. Worrier. Stressy. Shrill. Strident. Hard-arse. Loud. Obnoxious. Wired. Talkative.
Not sure too many of those are positives, but oh well!

How long have you lived in your current home?

4 and a half years. Bought this house in 2011. May look at moving.....one day. Right now, this house works for us :)

Who had the most positive influence on you?

Corny as it sounds? My parents. My Dad was the reason I got into IT. He was never a "follow in my footsteps" kind of person, but when I picked up an interest in it, he was incredibly supportive.
My mother is a different story - she's the reason I'm as staunchly feminist as I am. She was the one who said that I can do whatever I wanted and to not let anything hold me back. She's where I get my stubbornness from - though I'd like to think it's slightly diluting a little through the generations! I don't think I'd be the kind of person I am - strong-willed, forthright, open - if it wasn't for her.

What is your favourite TV show?

At the moment? That's a tricky one. I'd narrow it down to three - all Marvel! Agent Carter, Jessica Jones & Daredevil.

What was your favorite TV show when you were a kid?

Probably the original X-Men cartoons. I just recently purchased them on DVD for old-time's sake and my GAWD is the dialogue awful :P

The peasants are complaining, demanding they be fed more than once a week. How will you put down their insolent rebellion and which of their so-called leaders will you torture before them to demonstrate their folly?

Colin Scott
None of the above, as I am a kind and benevolent leader and will happily give them more food. Because I'm not a heartless Dev monster.

Which is more vulnerable: your heart or your network?

Colin Scott
Depends on which network we're talking about - home or work? :P
In truth? My heart, probably. May come across as acerbic and snarky, but words can hurt. A lot. I take a lot of what people say to me to heart, and I care far too much about other people's opinions.

The developers require local admin.

Colin Scott
They will not get it. EVER. Because all they do is break things and then call on sysadmins to fix it.
Nuh-uh. Not happening. NO LOCAL ADMIN FOR YOU!

Your husband is bitten by a zombie. Who do you unleash him upon to be devoured alive? And then what do you do when he turns into a zombie?

Colin Scott
I kill him in his sleep, as it would be humane thing to do as I'm a bit anti-zombie...

LOOK OUT! BEHIND YOU!

Colin Scott
I have eyes (well...mirrors) aimed behind me, so I can see what's coming. I already knew it was there and have formulated 17 different ways in which to murder it. Don't stress.

If you were an IP protocol would you be TCP or UDP?

TCP. I'm connection based. I'm not into this whole "give give give" and not get *anything* in return, not even an ACK! Also required a bit of order, due to my OCD.

Would you choose money or fame?

Money. At least with money you can help others. Fame gives you nothing other than people peering into your life.

Where is the scarcest place you have ever traveled to?

Not sure what you mean by the term "scarcest", but for me - I'm going with the place that has the least, was very remote etc.
For me, that would be Kakslauttenen, in Finland. We were so far from anywhere else, the sky was so clear. It was beautiful.

Do you believe in horoscopes?

Not really. Apparently I'm a "Pisces". We're supposed to cool, calm and collected. Always thoughtful. Never aggressive, very passive.
What a crock of shit.

Do you think people deserve a second chance?

Depends on what they did to screw up their first chance, I suppose.
Second chances for most people are deserved. It's when someone is on their 15th and 16th chance that it's time to call it quits...

Do you prefer giving or receiving?

Giving. I know that's what people probably say to be "nice", but I really enjoy giving things to people, seeing the look on their face and expecting absolutely nothing in return other than perhaps a "Thank you" :)

What is the scientific name of the germs you are infected with? Are you trying to steal Typhoid Mary's thunder?

Colin Scott
There isn't a scientific name for it. I refer to it as "The purpleness". Being near me for extended periods of time means you will slowly develop a craving for purple things...or purple things will just start appearing near you.
Typhoid Mary can keep her thunder. Mine's not infectious in quite the same way. Also, I'd like to think I don't cause *death*. At least not involuntarily...

If we could convert rage into electricity how many houses could we power by plugging you into the grid. And are you renewable?

Colin Scott
Would depend on rage level at the time. I would think at least 3-4 houses, easily. I am renewable - just need to get me worked up about something. Saying women belong in the kitchen, using the incorrect plural of Lego, having religious bias when it comes to operating systems, trying to install Windows Server 2003 (or earlier!) in my environment...there are *many* ways.
