What did you want to be when you were small?

anastasialidiakasandra’s Profile PhotoAnastasia Lidia
I had no real clue until my final year at uni, which is one of the reasons that I chose a fairly broad and general degree - Physics. All I knew is that it would be something scientific or technical

If you could hire someone to help you, would it be with cleaning, cooking, or yard work?

anastasialidiakasandra’s Profile PhotoAnastasia Lidia
I enjoy cooking, and doing work in the garden is one of my few means of exercise, so I'd go for the cleaning I guess. I did consider paying for a cleaner once, when I used to work full time, but I don't feel I really need it right now.

What two radio stations do you listen to in the car the most?

anastasialidiakasandra’s Profile PhotoAnastasia Lidia
BBC Radio 4 is usually my first choice, if I'm not listening to my own music. Second choice would usually be a local speech-based radio station, so typically the local BBC station, or maybe LBC if I'm near London.

For how long do you believe covid-19 will last?

It's here forever, but the usual pattern of viruses is that they mutate into a variant that spreads very rapidly but which causes very little illness. That is the easiest evolutionary path for them. Dead people don't spread disease.

What is your favourite colour shoes to wear?

These days, if I'm not wearing trainers, then I tend to go for brown.

When you were a kid, did you eat the crusts on your sandwich or not?

Shannon678900’s Profile PhotoShannon ( Birthday )
Yes, I've never had a problem with that. Sometimes I cut them off now, if I'm making a posh afternoon tea, but I hate waste so I'll keep them in an airtight box and nibble them as snacks.

What do you do when you can't sleep and everything going on in your life is just spinning around your head? 🤯

Larg7775’s Profile PhotoL x
Write it all down. Part of the reason that it all goes around your head is that you are afraid of forgetting important things that you might have to do in the morning. Writing it down doesn't make it go away, but it does clear some temporary storage space in your head. Thoughts are like computer RAM - typically 4GB. Writing it down is like a big hard disc - 4000GB. Give yourself some space, organise your thoughts on paper, and you'll find it much easier to "forget" and relax for a while.

Are you a fan of musicals—why or why not?

Shannon678900’s Profile PhotoShannon ( Birthday )
Yes, I recently saw The Jersey Boys, and I just booked for Cinderella, Back To The Future, and Only Fools And Horses in the New Year (there's a sale on at present).
Why? Well, I enjoy live performance, and musicals have a good blend of drama and music which adds a bit of variety over a pure play or just a gig.

What do you do on your commute to/from work?

Shannon678900’s Profile PhotoShannon ( Birthday )
My work is in the room next door. I do at least have to get out of bed as I don't own a laptop 😅
When I did commute in the past, 70 minutes on the train/tube on a good day, I usually read the free newspapers that I picked up at the station (Metro and City AM) and listened to my iPod. I also had a Kindle so I tried reading, usually short stories that I could finish in my return trip, and I got through all the Sherlock Holmes books, but that didn't last long.

Fast remedies for a head cold?

joshmcnaught0’s Profile PhotoJosh
Firstly, get a free covid test, you never know...
Paracetamol helps lower fever/temperature so it's a good start.
I find that some of the cold and flu remedies (tablets) work quite well to stop a runny nose, but I can't remember what the active ingredient is.
And buy tissues with balm/softener in them. They are much kinder on your nose if you're blowing or wiping it a lot.

Favourite cocktail? 🍸🍹

I don't drink enough cocktails to have a favourite, but I have sometimes been known to make my own Dirty Martini (gin, vermouth, and the juice from an olive jar).
Also, I invented one of my own recently using Sloe gin, which I call a Sloe and Dirty. 😉

If you threw an object in space would it lose momentum as time goes on? XLPX

KrisKnowles’s Profile PhotoXLPX
Newton's first law tells you that it will continue in motion at constant velocity (and so with constant momentum = mass x velocity) unless acted on by an external force. Although space is mostly empty, the object would be under the influence of gravity from something (the Earth, Sun, or the galaxy) as it's impossible to completely escape it, so its momentum would change because of that, but the effect could be minimal in many situations.

Should I message my ex or resist the temptation?

Larg7775’s Profile PhotoL x
I was going to say that it depends on whether the message is "come back" or "f*ck off", but actually the answer is probably No either way.

Favourite curry?

I don't mind it a bit hot, as long as it's not stupidly so. I had a very good Chicken Jalfrezi in Wetherspoons yesterday.

Can someone either tell me how to find my followers to follow back or can my followers let me know and I’ll follow you back :) x

ukuitano2’s Profile Photorose
You cannot find who they are, only the total number, and most of those will be old inactive accounts if you've been here for any length of time.
I follow you because your answers are better than most, and because I think you might live near me.

If I get out of bed and go to the fridge, will there magically be food in it?

Larg7775’s Profile PhotoL x
You know all that hype about Smart Fridges? It's not true. Food does not magically appear.
