Do you gallop a cross country course or canter? I hear people call it a gallop but I'm not sure sure if you really gallop.

You canter and even sometimes trot at lower levels (starter & beginner novice) and once you get to training, prelim, and up its more of a gallop. However coming up on combinations you need to be able to check your horse back into a canter as not all fences can be galloped over.

Yes definitely! It will help your saddle stay up, just not as well as an all leather one. However, the elastic helps your horse still have the same range of motion while wearing the breastplate. I’m also not a huge fan of all leather breastplates. I’d say that’s the way to go, and if you need even more saddle holding strength then try a 5 point elastic breastplate!

Please don't just think that because you use a half pad your saddle is gonna fit every horse you ride, you should get a saddle fitter out to make sure that your saddle fits Owen and if it doesn't, what you should do about it. Half pads aren't a magical saddle fit option. Con-

How do you know that I have or haven’t had a saddle fitter come out and check my saddle fit on Owen? You don’t know. So stop assuming things. You’re not my trainer and you’re not my saddle fitter. You’re a random person on the internet noticing that I have used the same jump saddle on my last three horses. You don’t know anything but what you see in photos and videos.
