Yes & No Both. Saying both because of my very personal experience. My current house was finished last year around May’19 (started building it from scratch). My father decided to build our house. We decided & chose everything according to our budget, convenience & taste definitely. This is the biggest plus point while building your house yourself. You have to take a headache a lot, but in the end it is worth it. You can get good deals on various materials yourself. If you hire any dealer or some builder, most of the times they think of only profit. This, in turn, leads to issues in future. So, I suggest you build contacts before building a house. Also, it is recommended to be in touch with someone who has built his own house, so that you don’t miss anything. You will also have to manage your funds wisely. Tip: You can with finance option and get a deduction on home construction loan.
