Why Dartmouth, are you a legacy, or was it something else?

I'm not a legacy. I did really well on my SATs and had great grades, and Dartmouth was the best school I was accepted at. I had a great time when I visited in the spring before committing, and the rest was history!

Hey, Dartmouth student here. Do you still associate with your alma mater in any way?

Sadly not really. I never joined a greek org, and in general it's been my experience that most people who remain connected to the College after graduating were members of a fraternity / sorority.
I actually haven't been back since I left. I'm also terrible at staying in contact with people who I don't see on the daily, so I haven't spoken to most of my friends from college in a few years :(

Can you please rate for me you most favorite Mass Effect to your least favorite? And what's the reason for your first and last picks? Thank you in advance

I haven't played ME3 yet. ME2 > ME, the combat is just glorious

Are you still buddy with Zyori or is he literally Hitler in your eyes now?

LITERALLY HITLER
Nah, I still consider him a good friend and have no ill will towards him. We do plan to kick his ass though now that he's the competition :D

Now that syndereN and SUNSfan are part of Moonduck which is your competitor, will they no longer come to work at the Summit? :(

I wouldn't 100% rule it out, but probably not

What do you do to relax after a long tiring day of work?

Read Wheel of Time, Play Mass Effect, Lose MMR, or ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Hey David, what are you thoughts regarding Secret being invited to ESL One despite having an almost totally different roster ?

I'm not sure how I feel about it. It's understandable as a business move, but it's hard to justify it from a pure competitive standpoint. They haven't proven that they are a stronger / 'more deserving' team than the likes of VP / CDEC / etc, and especially given that quite a few of their players are extremely unproven, it's easy to argue there are better options.
Ultimately Secret guarantees ESL a certain level of viewership, and there's an argument to be made that the team deserves the invite as defending champions even if they have changed their rosters. I can see it both ways.

Im a 14 year old with 2 years of dota experience (played since public release of dota 2) ive hit 4.8 solo and 5.1 party. if i play consistently would i have a chance at going professional soon

Soon is a strong word. So much depends on networking and being in the right place at the right time. Do you have a chance? Of course!
Would I suggest you drop out of school for it? Hell no. Make sure you're on top of your studies and continue to treat DOTA as your favorite hobby in the meantime.
Don't just mindlessly grind games; always focus on improvement and intelligent practice.

Have you ever tried the online mafia game "Town of Salem". It's on steam for <$5 and is a great way to play mafia when you don't have a huge group irl.

Nope, but maybe I'll try it sometime! I really like the human element of regular mafia though

Moonduck looks to be a third premier studio for dota. Do you think the new competition will drive BTS to be even better?

Absolutely; it can only help.
Moonduck has some great talent, and that's a key starting point in building a studio.
Competition is a challenge to grow and expand, and true competitors always rise to the challenge. We started from nothing and built BTS from the ground up, and I've got absolute faith that we have the best team in the business to tackle the challenges and opportunities coming our way over the next year.
In short, we've been busting ass with our plans for long-term expansion and growth over the past 3-4 months (basically ever since TS3 ended). The BTS Series is just the first step in expanding our operations and offerings to the community. There's a lot in motion behind the scenes (tm), and some of what we're working on may still take quite a few months before the community will be able to see the results. We're confident it will be worth the wait, but for now you're just gonna have to trust us!

I ask this question because when I watched Sing get into a game against s4, Puppey and Kuro, he goes absolutely ham on them and they call GG at 25 minutes, I don't really know much about Sing, I just wasn't sure how people saw him

As in all matters, I advise you to exercise critical thinking and form your own judgements. The hivemind isn't always right :)

I find it interesting you say "I didn't like the way they cast the really long game at TI3.... To be honest I found their tone mocking and disrespectful towards the players..." then you say later in another a: "Broadcasters are there to entertain the general audience, not to make pro players happy."

There's a time and place to mess around and be silly (the Summit, online cups, etc). Even at TI, a little humor is definitely fine. Still, there's a difference between cracking a joke here or there and transforming the entire cast into a roast of the players when you're the official cast for the main event.
It's not like they cracked one joke, they spent a huge percentage of the game just mocking the players and making what was a very strategic chess match into a big joke.
Envy was upset about a single light-hearted moment that wasn't even making fun of the players directly. That's a far cry from a cast full of constant mockery.

Do you think valves plans of roster stability have backfired given the astounding roster changes post-ti as compared to previous years?

I don't think the plan was to prevent shuffling but more to have a clear structure for when shuffles happen rather than just teams randomly changing at all times throughout the year.
It's way too early to know if the system will work. I think it's going to make life very difficult for all the non-Major events though.

Do you think theres a distinct possibility that eg may run away with the first major given the differences in all the new teams?

Yes

Would you consider personal streaming during the down-time in-between the majors, or do you simply not have enough time?

Right now we're in the middle of a lot of big expansions, so time's a bit limited sadly. Good news is that part of those expansions include hiring more support staff, which will give me more free time to do fun things like stream and focus on raising my MMR :)

At ESL Cologne, there were two girls casting games. Do you think there is a reason why there are no female casters in dota, and will there be room for it in the future?

ToughC00kie’s Profile PhotoStephanie A. Fleming
There's a few in DOTA - Sheever, Lily, and probably 1-2 others I'm forgetting.
There is no particular reason why we don't see any at big events. It's mostly a numbers game (far more male casters than female, so it's only natural that there will be more good male casters). DOTA / eSports can be quite unwelcoming to women in general. I'd expect to see more in the future if the demographics shift.

Do you think SingSing is underrated? It seems people judge because he acts clowny and entertaining on his streams, but when he casts and does analysis', he has a shit ton of knowledge and opinions, things I would have never thought about.

If you judge him by his stream, then yeah, he's hugely underrated.
If you judge him by his professional career, I think he's rated more or less where he belongs (a solid player who can cut it competitively but still has work to do to prove he can go all the way)

Do you want kids? And if so, at what age would you allow them to play dota?

I'm in no hurry, but I'm open to the possibility if I meet the right woman

Can we get Blitz and Merlini back to BTS pleaseeeeeeee Then we can have 3 merlinis

Merlini - Yes, he still lives with us and will almost certainly be doing work with us in the future
Blitz - Never know, but right now he's quite settled down in Germany with jD / his girlfriend, so probably not

What do you think navi and fnatic need to do to make it to tier1 status/how will their rosters pan out?

Fnatic did what they needed to, which was a pretty radical shakeup.
Na'Vi needs something similar; honestly feel like Dendi / XBOCT may need to go their separate ways at this point to revitalize their careers

Do you think EG could have handled the AUI situation differently?? Like PM aui and first instead of announcing the rumors are true that he was kicked??

Yeah, you live you learn. It's easy to monday morning quarterback the way it was handled, but I can say from experience when I've parted ways with people in the past that it's almost never easy.

What do you think of TS new lineup?? Is it an upgrade or a downgrade compare to their last line up??

Too soon to tell. Similar potential if w33ha pans out, but on paper it seems like a rebuilding season for Secret

Do you think the it's good for jay and kuku to switch roles in their second game or they are just underestimating their opponent?

I haven't been following them that closely. In general I don't think players swapping roles regularly is a good idea; patience is important when building team synergy

I'm the same mafia fiend. If you ever want to play with a bunch of random's, a twitch channel called DailyMafia is a community that is basically completely open, anyone can join in, no invite required. Also whats the dumbest mafia play you've ever seen someone make (or try to make)?

n0tail fake claiming Vigilante as town when we had a confirmed Mafia kill right away and giving me the chance to pull off an 11v2 comeback

Why aren't predominant LoL orgs like TSM, CLG, Dignitas, SK Gaming in Dota? (Yes I know SK and dig didn't start out as a LoL team, but their site's and Twitter focus is 95% LoL

I know quite a few LoL teams have tried to get into DOTA. It's not because they're not interested, rather because they haven't been able to convince players to sign with them.

What do you make of the German stack rumours and how do you think they would perform

They should be a solid contender, similar to how 4ASC was going into TI qualifiers earlier this year. Not a guaranteed Tier 1 team; they'll need to prove themselves and develop synergy over time.

You have no ownership stake in BTS? It's all Godz, or are you co-owners together?

I own a part of the company, but I'm not *the* owner. We have a team of people that make decisions collectively.

Do you think lina's ult should be nerfed??

The BKB piercing damage is a bit strong but it's also unique. I think you can keep it as it is and nerf other aspects of the hero. If jungle stacks get nerfed she won't be nearly as scary

Hi LD will we be seeing in the studio series in the future?

Nope! You'll be seeing more show content though hopefully fairly soon :)

Have you considered picking up a sport to help get in shape? Might be fun. You could pick up boxing and be a dank "Punch him" meme irl.

Never tried boxing, but I imagine it would be good stress relief. Maybe someday!

do you think VG.BurNIng is a good move ?

It definitely could be. BurNIng really needs to play with some newer blood and have a change of scenery. Hoping he gets back to a more active style of carry.

Why didn't liquid pick up the Bulbaui stack? Or any team for that matter. Has their place in dota come and gone ?

I have no clue. Liquid's always been a bit more particular about which teams they sign compared to other orgs.
