I’m so obsessed with her already. I drive around and listen to Anyone by Justin Bieber and just cry about how much I love her ahaha. I don’t think my heart has ever felt this full! It’s crazy how much someone you’ve never met can change you!!
I care about myself more now that this child is growing inside of me. I feel WAY more protective over my time, my energy, my body, my emotions, everything I do. She is my number one priority! 💗

I wrote this song last July actually so it’s been a year. Some of you may remember how I said I wrote a song that was ridiculously high and kind of “unsingable”... yeah that is this song ahaha.
We’ve been planning this forever but it’s weird how timing works out sometimes. I wrote this about a personal journey of needing to break my mental chains and speak up for myself. To tell people how I’m feeling, when I’m not okay, if I feel like someone has wronged me or hurt me, to just be free in my own life.... I’ve never been the best at sharing myself with the people around me but last summer I realized that my closed-off way of living was taking a toll on my mental health. I needed to change.
I hope #StandUp can be an anthem for all the ways you might need to speak up. Things you need to say, share, or show people. The more you keep things in your head, the more powerless and alone you feel but that’s not reality. I have to be reminded of this too. You have a circle of influence, no matter how small it is. You have things in your life that you can take control of and change. You are stronger than you feel and your voice MATTERS. That’s something I need to hear like, every day ?
Anyway, I love you guys and I hope this song can lift you up and empower you. I’ve listened to it so many times when I needed encouragement and it really has helped me to be brave and speak my mind. I hope it can do the same for you.

NEW MUSIC ANNOUNCEMENT!!!!!!!!! My next single is called #FadingAway and it comes out MAY 22ND ?
Every other song I’ve released was written when I was very in touch with my emotions and couldn’t help but express them. This song was kind of the opposite.
I wrote it in August when I realized how numb I’d become and how much that scared me. I literally felt like I was fading away and didn’t know how to stop it. Sometimes the scariest feelings are not shockwaves of anger or sadness but the subtle disappearance of pain or joy altogether. I’ve been very in touch with myself most of my life so to feel nothing for an extended period of time was really alarming for me. It felt like I was malfunctioning.
Luckily, I figured out why.
I learned I have a subtle yet monstrous problem with people pleasing. I put other people’s well-being above my own in a very subconscious way. I suppressed my needs for so long in favor of pleasing others that I almost completely lost touch with my own feelings and desires. I became so unimportant in my own life that my emotions shut off completely and left nothing but a dark, empty numbness.
This is one of my biggest struggles and I’m definitely not over it but luckily I can work on it now that I’m aware of it.
If you’ve ever run yourself into the ground and felt absolutely last in your life, you will relate to this song. It’s scary to feel so disconnected but I’ve learned that taking care of myself and asking for what I need are two big ways to reconnect.
Speaking up is so scary but I have to believe that I am worth the effort. If everyone else deserves to be happy, so do I. If I would do so much for others, I deserve that same effort toward my own health and happiness. I won’t let myself fade away.

I fully produced/recorded this entire song, just me and my piano :) I imagined full production when I wrote it but when I made the demo, it felt so haunting and raw that I couldn’t bring myself to change it.
