Hi there
Well first of all that's a really tough situation. I guess you could do two things: 1. Try to be with them secretively, make it super Romeo & Juliet-ish and hope that eventually the silly thing passes and you can be together or 2. Try to resolve the issue. If it's something silly then maybe there is a resolution or compromise you can make

Fuck that other guy. He seems like a dick. Make out with as many guys as you want to. You deserve to have fun and share your life with other people. That guy is a fuckin lame for going back to some shitty girl he left in the first place. Go get you some.
Because humans shouldn't be judged on how much they are worth by a price. People should be judged by the happiness they bring into this world. I completely understand that it's hard to see because you're right, they have to be helped their whole lives, but they are still worth the life they live
Well first of all, I'm not going into a major regarding anything to do with biology. So I know a little bit about STEM cell research, but not enough to argue with how much we have to go around. HIV is a terrible thing, and I think that we should help people with it, and take an even stronger approach in schools to teach safe sex and not just abstinence. That could help prevent things like this in the future, and it has improved in our generation. I don't really want to get into cancer, that's a very sensitive subject. But anyways, being pro-choice I think that if the woman decides she will be unable to raise the child right, give him/her proper love and care and has explored and ruled out the adoption option (which is obviously hard with a mentally handicapped child) then if she thinks that it's better off to have an abortion then that's her choice. I personally wouldn't abort a child who I knew was going to be mentally handicapped. But I've also worked in programs that have helped me know how to teach kids like that, but not everyone would be prepared. Women should choose what they think is best for their health and for the over all quality of life for the child. But aborting with the mindset that the child is flawed and a waste isn't a reasonable thought at all. Every person has a purpose.
