not really , especially considering that black people/poc genuinely have suffered from worse medical treatment from white dentists and doctors? clearly “work” doesn’t exist in a vacuum?

I'm really sorry, I'm running on such little sleep right now - what do you mean by "existing in a vaccum"? because all I can picture is the physics of it and I'm assuming that isn't what you're getting at 😅

what advise would you give someone who was serverly underweight?

Gain weight healthily. See a doctor, see a nutritionist. I never found out helped - it just made me angry- but see a therapist if that's where the problem is.
Go through professionals, not pseudo-professional Instagram accounts. Get help that is tailored to you because there is no one size fits all cure.
And above everything else, be kind to yourself. I don't mean "indulge restricting" if that's what you're doing (it's what I did.) You're going to have to be firm with yourself because you deserve better. You deserve a life where you have energy and feel warm and joy. So you're going to have to parent yourself here.

Do you feel like it’s accurate when people imply most/a large portion of white people’s social justice work is insincere?

No. That's like saying that, say, all white dentists are insincerely scraping the plaque off your back molars. Work is work.

Have you ever worked at a bakery?

Nope! Cafés where we baked our own cakes and bread and yadda yadda, but I was a bit of a liability. You know you aren't supposed to open the oven when the cake is cooking because you basically murder the cake?
I did that. I did that a lot.

Are you looking forward to the reopening of pubs eventually or are you not really a pub person? 😀

I'm not a big drinker but I love a pub atmosphere! I've worked in bars on and off since I was 18 and I absolutely love being behind the bar - I used to do it in the off season for a bit of extra money, and you meet some absolutely hilarious characters. So yes, looking forwards to them coming back, just because it's not the UK without somebody saying "Pub?" on a Friday 😂

Have you seen Peaky Blinders?

It should have been illegal to make a Midlands accent sexy. That has never been a thing, oh my god.

Drug dealer? That bag is $2500 here 🤯🤮

Only good vibes 👌😂 But no, when I realised I wasn't in any state to play more tournaments I used the winnings from my last couple to treat myself a bit, haha. Usually it all went on one plane ticket/ tournament entry/hotel/coaches fees blah blah blah after another, but I bought my car and a couple of higher end pieces I fancied. Tournament wins could range from hundreds to thousands, yknow? The rest went into savings because I'm so bad with money 😂

How do you calm yourself down if you are panicking?

I recite flowers in my head. I started getting panic attacks again last year and hadn't had them in a while, but shit happened and whatever. Anyway! I start at A (alstromerias and aquilegia, etc) and go right the way through. It kinda works if I can't get up and get moving.

What's the dirtiest you've ever been? (No, I mean literally, not in THAT way, like if you've accidentally fallen into mud Haha) How hard was it to get clean afterwards? 🚿

I ran a trail run a couple of years back and it was right after we'd had a couple of weeks of rain. I started late (got distracted by a dog on the way to the paddocks) so a tonne of runners went before me. The trail, which was always going to be muddy, became an absolute quagmire. You were up to your shins in mud, your trainers were black, your legs covered - it was so, so grim.
I mean, there are bound to be others because I live on a farm, but that's the one that really springs to mind. 13.1 miles of dragging one foot out of the mud after another. It was so stupid😂

What will you never be seen wearing?

Yknow those see-through plastic boots that the Kardashians were responsible for a couple of years back? Those. The condensation, dude, I mean.

Do you ever feel old

This year. I forgot how much I liked to sleep with the windows open so I can hear the rain, and I hadn't had a kitchen dance party in months, and I was so intent on getting fit again that I forgot that I loved running because it was the closest feeling to flying. And I'd gotten so cynical and sad that I didn't recognise myself at all.
I feel much better now.

You bring a lot of good shit to the world tea

Oh you're an angel 💛 I want to leave a mark on the world, but I'd hate for it to be a scar, yknow?

I never want to fall in love with anyone. What should I do to make my heart strong enough?

You already are strong enough, lovely. You don't need to build up reserves or walls or battlements to fall in love. It's the same as standing on a cliff and feeling the wind on your face - you have to be a little more free, a little bolder, a little more likely to puddle jump and laugh at the rain. Love is the best goddamn thing in the world, so go get it.
