Good morning, what is your choise, coffee, tea, or Nescafe?

I don't know what Nescafe is. I like coffee, but not straight coffee. I like things like (especially) Starbucks Doubleshot Espresso & Cream. I go through phases, though. Sometimes I go through a phase where I like Pure Leaf extra sweet tea. Only that one, though.

Who is your latest crush?

This cute girl I saw in the waiting room at the dentist's office on Thursday. She seemed to be in a lot of pain (either that or reeeally bored). I just wanted to hold her and comfort her. (It wasn't just because she was cute that I liked her.)

Do you believe in super natural powers?

I think the term 'supernatural' is a misnomer (I wrote about that here: https://myriachromat.wordpress.com/2017/02/15/on-the-term-supernatural/ ), but yes, I think that there are real 'powers' that people tend to categorize as 'supernatural,' for example ESP, psychic healing, the ability to see auras, perhaps astral projection, etc. I'm not sure if those are what you have in mind as supernatural.. I think that telekinesis is probably real too, though rare and in limited degrees, and that seems more definitely 'supernatural.'

have you been studying English for a long time? Consider learning any other language besides this one?

I've tried learning French, Spanish, Latin, Esperanto.. also looked into ASL and Sanskrit a little.. French I took for three years in high school. Latin I gave up on because the conjugations are way too complicated to memorize. Spanish I took for a year in junior high and for a semester in college. Esperanto I pretty much got the grammar down but never bothered to memorize a lot of words. Sanskrit and ASL I have books on but just read a little of them. I've also thought about learning German (because of the way you can arbitrarily make words out of other words and because the language is very good for philosophy), Norwegian (because I had a Norwegian girlfriend) and Tagalog (because I had a Filipino girlfriend). Oh, and I studied Chinese grammar a little because I find it interesting. And there are probably other languages I've considered learning. The thing is that I learn quickly but also forget quickly. I hardly know any French now, for example. So it seems kinda pointless to put a lot of effort into learning a new language.

How do you usually start a conversation?

I usually don't. =P Sometimes when I make a feeble attempt on a dating website it goes something like "Hi", "Hi!", or "Hi, how are you?"

Why is it so hard for ppl to apologize?

You have to humble yourself, and surrender. The ego doesn't like this, and also it leaves you vulnerable. What if they don't accept your apology? What if they attack you or hold it against you because you admitted wrongdoing? Also what if you believe you weren't in err - after all if you thought what you were doing was wrong you probably wouldn't have done it.. in that case saying sorry seems unjust, and it's far more attractive to try to convince the other to see it the way you see it, because why surrender to their delusion that you did something wrong?

How do you usually discover new music?

Listening to the radio, hearing a song in a store and using Shazam or SoundHound to see what it is, clicking on people's links to songs on YouTube in social media/chat rooms

What movies inspire you?

I like a lot of movies, but I'm not sure any have ever inspired me. Maybe Waking Life.

If you could go back in time, what is one piece of advice you would give your younger self?

If you had to delete all but 3 apps from your telephone, which ones would you keep?

What is the weirdest scar you have and how did you get it?

I have a scar on the bottom of my chin. When I was 7 years old I was riding a skateboard on the sidewalk by my grandmother's house on my knees, and I hit a pebble and I and the skateboard toppled over forward and my chin hit the ground. I was *pouring* blood. I ran to the house where, somehow, my grandma was already standing at the doorway with a wet rag waiting for me. I had to get 7 stitches (I remember that because I thought it was significant at the time that I was 7 years old and I got 7 stitches.)

How would our life be if we could remember only the last month?

freer mentally, but practically less able in some ways

I am very interested in cooking but sometimes I don’t feel like I’m good enough to do what I want to do and feel like I’m not good enough to be compared to other people in my field. This doesn’t necessarily apply just to cooking but to life.

What are the chances that that's just a feeling (and a common one at that) and not the reality? The only way to know is to try.
