Make them three, he forgot, Pike took his ship and made it his again and at least, the man he loved as a the father he never had managed to convince Marcus not to send him back to the academy. And why? Because of course, Spock snitched him, nice and clear, despite the fact he stepped on these fu.cking rules to save him. Second worry, this meeting. What was it for? Mission already? He's not over the fact he lost his ship. And third worry, Lydia. Not only what she said about him dy.ing but also her safety. Things are dangerous in the fleet on a red alert, yet she wanted to prevent her vision from happening so what could he do against her will to protect his life. “Yeah, look, it's complicated. All you need to know is that I am a starfleet officer. Yes we travel the stars, yes we have spaceships, yes aliens exist, some ugly some extremely good looking. Also, I just got my ship taking away from me because my crush's” he stopped. Great, he just confessed he has a crush on Spock. Fascinating, like he would say “...My first officer's life was threatened and I saved him and now this happened so, it's really not a good time, yet if you insist” he opened the door with his pass, getting on the elevator, only to see Spock there “Captain.” the Vulcan greeted on the classic Vulcan tone, lacking emotion “Not anymore Spock. First officer. I've was downgraded and you have been transferred.” he informed the Vulcan who looked surprised. Kirk avoided further conversation “Spock, that's my friend Lydia, before you ask, she's my guest. Lydia meet Spock, my first officer when I was the captain of the USS Enterprise.”

Jim froze. He wasn't expecting her to be that close to where Khan was. Not to mention he was expecting the glass cage to be activated already “I am fine. Bones is always nagging about everything, I wouldn't be surprised” he commented, raising a brow at her. He wanted to convince her. But the moment she took her eyes from him, she tried to make his move, but Kirk was quicker, activating the glass cage in panic, probably opening his wound again with such fast move. His next move to wrap his arms around her, find support in her hug “He almost got you. I would never allow him to even touch a hair of yours” the captain truly was in pain, something clearer in his voice now “But it's okay, I got him, you are safe” another whisper left his mouth as he rubbed her hair, bIood staining his fresh yellow shirt. He was not aware if he was staining hers too. He just wanted to hold her for a second. He brought her into this. Another person he cares about dragged to danger. Jim was a party animal sometimes, a serious captain some others. He could easily hide his sensitivity behind this cocky star-boy but also make this disappear behind the serious captain that brings his crew first and his life second. Kirk was used to that. That was him, his character, his everything. When he walked in this dinner he was wearing his serious mask. But something was telling him letting the Kirk many hate and many love out would help. After all, the only person looking worthy of his trust was the female that would call him Mister Blue eyes and get exiting over the fact he is a captain even though she probably thinks it's a ship that sails the oceans and not space. After the announcement, he ended up on the option "balance between the two" keeping a serious face, yet letting the off duty Kirk come out “I found it on my doorstep and no, I ain't lying. I never really wanted to come but curiosity is something not even a captain can prevent” oh, light humor to break the ice was everything he needed right now. Seems like being yourself isn't that bad “I really don't know who brought us here. All I know is...” a pause, eyes locked on the food “I'm not eating that” and of course he wouldn't. Would you really eat what they serve you in a random, dark looking mansion, when the only source of communication with the owner is shouting and waiting for an answer from the megaphone, if that came, and the
invitations coming from the sky in the first place? It was a no “All I know is that I will currently trust you, Miss.” he smirked, keeping a professional yet playful tone up.

Jim saw Bones walking away, his blue eyes locked on the medic to make sure he left before he made his move, getting up even if a nurse adviced not to. He let out a groan, moving to the bathrooms of the ship, who thankfully were close to the Med Bay to shower. Once he was in, he took his clothes off, spending some minutes looking in the mirror, trying to find out what exactly was making him feel like that. Once he realized it can only be the man that's a prisoner to his ship again, he walked in the shower, carefully washing himself, in order to avoid harming himself further. A phaser wound was a burn, but a nasty one.
When he walked out of the shower, he moved to the dressing room, right next to the bathrooms, picking up his yellow commanding clothes instead of a med bay robe. He would go and talk to Khan. Right now.
