Does self control and regulation have to do with freedom? How so?
self control and regulation have to do with freedom
the only freedom one has, is the freedom to choose between good and evil, or as the blue castle by L.M. Montgomery likes to put it, the "freedom to choose our prison".
So on one hand we can be "prisoners" of our body- of our body's desires, of lust, of pride, of ego, hedonism, whatever. Or we can be "prisoners" of the Spirit of God (which according to Christianity, mixes with our human spirit) so we are "prisoners" of righteousness, of self control, ("for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control" 2 Timothy 1:7) of obedience to God, which is above all obedience to the commandment to love God then man.
so self control and regulation can be found when one chooses to know and let God into their lives, that's what I believe, derived from personal experiences.
