Young and Young Adult CarersLatest answers
I think I am a young carer. What do I do?
Do you live in Salford? If so, you just need to fill in a referral form. If you give us a ring on the number below we can email or send you one in the post.
Once you have filled this in, someone from young carers will come and have a chat with you about the things you do to help and then we will look at what support you need and if we can offer it.
If you have any questions please ring 0161 833 0217. We are open 9am-5pm Mondays-Thursdays and 9am-4pm on Fridays.
What is a young carer?
A carer is someone, of any age, who provides unpaid support to a loved one who wouldn't be able to manage without them. This could be due to disability, illness, mental ill health, drug or alcohol misuse or frailty.
Young carers are unpaid carers who are under 18 and young adult carers are carers who are aged 18-25.
