Ice water bath for a whole hour? Do you put them in the fridge?
Yep! The hour long ice bath helps finish firming up the eggs to the right consistency. Also, I've heard people have put them in the fridge, and they've said it turned out okay. But what I do is refrigerate water while the eggs are cooking, and drop them and some ice cubes into the bowl. I'll then leave it all sitting on the counter for that whole hour.
I'm doing well! I just can't wait til the weekend. I'm feeling particularly antsy, because I want to spend the weekend drawing with my new tablet! I'm excited to get back into the world of art.
What’s your secret to making the best egg salad sandwich?
I feel like this is an unpopular opinion (or at least a lesser known one) BUT.. I feel like the biggest secret to making the best egg salad starts with the first step. That is, boiling those eggs! Getting eggs to be boiled just right is tricky. It takes a lot of trial and error, and a lot more guess work, but it pays off to get that down first. What's ideal is that the yolk is soft, but slightly firm — kind of creamy instead of cakey. ✔️DO✔️: roll eggs JUST to a boil from cold water, let them sit on a lower heat for a time (size of eggs makes time vary), turn off heat and let them sit in hot water for a time (time by size again), and FINALLY leave them sitting in ice cold water for an hour. 🚫DO NOT🚫: LEAVE EGGS AT A BOIL... this is so important. Exposing your eggs to high boil for too long will cause that chemical reaction in the yolks that makes them hard and green. Avoid keeping your heat on high after the boil starts. From there, you should have the perfect consistency of eggs and yolks that'll mix in well with your favorite additions. I highly recommend honey mustard, some regular mustard, Hellmann's mayonnaise, salt, pepper, and paprika. This is how I make the best egg salad I've ever had, and it's perfect on toasted honey wheat bread!
Good morning, I would like to apologize to you, I’ve been crazy busy recently and I finally got my drivers license as well as my cooking license. How you feeling?
Hey, there's absolutely no need to apologize! Nothing at all to worry about. It is good to hear from you again, though — and I'm glad you're doing well for yourself! 🌟 I'm feeling pretty alright today. It had a weird start, because I was stressed about a really expensive package coming in the mail. An almost $900 (on sale) tablet!! I started feeling instantaneously better after receiving it and inspecting it for damage. Now I'm at work, antsy as hell to get home and TINKER WITH IT 🥺🥺🥺
Nope — I wasn't when you first sent this in, either. I haven't watched anything on cable TV since... maybe 2017. I don't care for cable, because there's much better ways of finding content to watch.
do you prefer your eggs scrambled or sunny side up?
Scrambled, but in a very specific way: I make my eggs whisked in a bowl with milk, salt, pepper, and sometimes paprika. And then I'll pour that mixture into the pan. Following that, I'll sprinkle in shredded cheese and then slowly scramble!
As nice as full transparency in my social life would be, I'm going with teleportation. That would allow me to achieve all the dreams that my adventure loving heart could ever have! This route would serve me the most significance in life.
I think the brain works in mysterious ways we can't even begin to understand. I've had little premonitions in my dreams, so I pretty much have to agree. It's possible to see things from future events in dreams. Not all dreams are that significant though!! Most dreams are pretty much meaningless brain mess.
Wanna know how to kick that fast? Try ordering their stuffed french toast, if you haven't. It. Is. OVERKILL... you might be put off of it for a minute.
