Probably because Canada is too far away and sadly Mexico has a lot of violence going on (it's why people want to leave from there). When I was in Canada I didn't see any Hispanics. It was a bizarre feeling like the only one for miles (I'm sure there were others but I just didn't encounter any. I then discovered there's a culture down here and I'm part of the culture despite different I am. I didn't see that before. Definitely an eye-opening experience).

Do you need to listen to something in order to fall asleep?
White noise from fans otherwise I hear voices. Distorted and sometimes loud voices from a man, sometimes a woman, once a child crying for its mom. They shout things in Spanish that I can't understand, sometimes they shout my name. If I sleep in pure silence my dreams become entirely glitchy and frozen and I wake up with a migraine. This has been a thing since I was a child. (As a kid I'd sleep with the radio on. I'd have a recurring dream of a box factory. A cat drawn in a scribble-like way was over the words "box factory". Cat box factory? Inside this factory my family runs through this huge maze of horrors/scary surprises at every corner/etc as I clung for life on my mom’s back, I fell off at some point but stull clung best I could with my arms as they stretched in a cartoon-like manner since I couldn't keep up with running. The end of the maze there was an exit leading to a bright golden light, which the song would end and my dream would resume as normal. I could never remember which song it was.)
