No, it's fine and you actually got it right. Kirby can be pronounced as Kabii since the real pronounciation of Kirby (imo) is Kerr-bi, as game is to ゲーム (gemu geh-moo). ヾ(＠⌒ー⌒＠)ノ

For high level competition check out akihabara. If you're not at that level just any arcade will do. Just look for any place that has ゲーム and you should be good.
