Merry Christmas everyone! Which day do you open presents usually? Christmas Eve night or Christmas Morning? My family does Eve night :)

westol72’s Profile PhotoටӀӀìҽ
Christmas morning because we want everyone together in the family which means our parents. My 5 brothers, my 5 sisters, my sisters husbands/my brother in law: nick (Christina's), emmyn (dani's) , max (Katherine's), chad (Lisa's).
Then my brother Alex's girlfriend: betsy
My sister in law/ brother Michael's wife: chelsea, and then my nieces/ nephew: Barrett ( christina and Nick's son), paisley & mckingsley ( Chelsea's daughters and Michael's step daughters but they call him daddy). And then chelsea is pregnant with baby cimorelli, and my sister lisa is pregnant with a little girl so there will be 2 more additions next year.
And we normally do what we call friendsmas which is where we have like a christmas party on christmas eve with all our other family who is able to make it and everyones friends where we give them their gifts and that.

If you could make an addition to your current home, no matter how realistic it was, what'd you add? Go crazy if you feel like it! 🏠⛲📽🎨🖼🎡

Wow haha.
Can I can someone teleport it to the mountains? Would love a glass house with like at least 10 rooms. Oh and like an open bathroom concept. Want a bathtub and like huge open space (private of course). Would love a pool as well and like a nice backyard where I have 101 different types of plants. Then a large living room where I can have gatherings.
Clearly these are not additions hahahah. Oopsy.

I really respect that you acknowledge the vast amount of hard work that goes into any game. I feel a lot of times people dislike a game and they don't really consider that for all a games design flaws, there are likely programmers who have an extremely difficult job and themselves did great work

From the developer interviews I've read it seems like one of the biggest problems is that it's very difficult to get a feel for big projects until the final months. Raphael Colantonio said as much just recently in an interview about Prey. Apparently if they had more time they would've changed the final act a lot and they even frantically tweaked it in those final months to minimise how detrimental it was. Wish I could find the interview but I can't remember where it was.
Obviously I have a fondness for Kamiya's games but apparently he's notorious for forcing in last minute additions and who knows, maybe it's only because they do that he games turn out so well. As an example, the team morph ability in W101 was only added in the final weeks/months which is one of the game's most unique and interesting features as an action title.
I really wish developers had more time to edit their work, it could make all the difference.

Where would you place the newer character additions to Lawl Nova character in the "Celebs, YTP and Cults" picture?

adamp5104’s Profile PhotoAdam Powell
-Katie Tiedrich: Cults: "Who is this comic girl I want Toon Luigi"
-Toon K. Rool: Memes: Yeah, I am replacing YTP with Memes in the categories thing. Youtube Poops are a dying art, plus anything can be featured on a Youtube Poop these days. Anyhow, Toon DK was in this category so it only makes sense for his arch-nemesis to be here too.
-Sega Hard Girls: Cults: Most people didn't know about them, and the few people that did know about them was due to the crossover with Neptunia, which is already a niche series.
-Skinner: Memes: Steamed Hams aside, The Simpsons have plenty of memes and exploitable quotes that makes any character from that series fall into this category.
-Vinesauce Joel: Memes: G R A N D D A D
-Hat Kid: Celebrities: While Indie Games tend to fall on the Cults category, A Hat in Time is popular enough for its main character to be in this category.
-Crack Figure: Cults: Stick Figures on Crack hasn't been hold on such a high regard as asdfmovies, with not many people really remembering it and with its creator being retired. It doesn't help that some people don't even know which ones are the official videos.

I really like the little musical background additions you put in the TTT videos, they aren't much but they really add a lot to the videos.

Thanks, I'm sorry that I end up using only the same songs, but they're pretty good and trying to find free stuff is pretty hard to do. I like adding the music to make it not feel as empty when things get tense (although sometimes the lack of sound works too).

Unlikely that there'll be any changes to core systems of the game until September, so do you think that there's much Bungie can do to quiet the anger of the fanbase before then, or is everything just not going to be enough?

I don't think anything less than sweeping or major changes or additions will quell the rage of the community. Maybe a very steady flow of small additions will help.

What kinds of additions or tweaks would you like to see from Bayonetta 3? I'm hoping they go back to the base Bayo1 system except maybe alter the d-pad functionality. Itd be neat to see stuff from the transformers game added too (parry offset, new witch time triggers, the just frame abilities, etc)

I really need to play Bayo 2 again, I haven't given it enough time compared to the first one.
That said, I can't see myself growing to like the weapons in the second one more than the first, they're too over the top to be satisfying in the same way as the first game. I feel like you have to act with more precision in Bayo 1 since your attack hitboxes are generally smaller. Unfortunately I think if they revert this a lot of people will say the weapons in the second game were better (that seems to be the prevailing opinion) but I'd like to see it anyway.
I also need to play some more Transformers but I'd caution against adding mechanics like Parry Offset just for the sake of it. For example if the parry gives you the ability to offset + a chance to deal damage then you don't have as much incentive to use the regular dodge. I'm not saying it shouldn't be added but the relationship to other mechanics needs to be considered carefully.
I think the two big changes that would have the most positive impact would be:
Removing Witch Time on the max difficulty again.
Rethinking or re-balancing Umbran Climax.
Enemies/bosses in 2 felt spongy and dodged a lot because you had Witch Time and Umbran Climax at your disposal.
It's an interesting topic I'd like to talk about more but I should really play Bayo 2 a few more times first. Hopefully 3 turns out well.

From Personal Experience: Creepy Tale (C) “The Asylum Wing” This was in the number 2 spot if requested tales, so here we go:

CactusDoug’s Profile PhotoDoug
In the rural northwestern English county of Cumbria, close to the border of Lancashire, there stands an ancient fortified mansion complex known as Borwick Hall. Built in the 1080s as a Norman stronghold, it was constantly added to over the centuries with, I believe the most recent additions being made in the 1500s. It was used in the BBC tv children’s series “The Ghosts Of Motley Hall” (featured as the eponymous Hall) in the 1970s and when I was there it was used as young people’s accommodation for youth group weekends.
I had organised a training weekend there for young people and their youth leaders from Lancashire, Manchester and Cumbria. It was clear that the place was seeped in history, and of course had its ghost stories and legends. The actual facts of the place were scarier than the legends of ghosts however, imo. For example, as was common in Mediaeval times, the architect who spent his working life in constructing the tower section was still buried upright in the tower stairwell. The top floor was used at one time as a mental asylum, though most of its long corridor was now closed off and the doors chained shut (more on this later). The room that me and my male co-worker were sleeping in was called “The Coffin Room”, and yes, it was an ancient stone room built in the shape of a coffin, which was apparently customary in such buildings during a particular period, for the room that used to store the dead until they could be properly buried. I gather that it was particularly well used during the plague era of the 1300s.
As things already were, additional ghost stories would seem trivial and pointless, the place was scary enough as it is (going to bed each night up a stone staircase with a dead body in it to my stone bedroom shaped like a coffin was enough, tbh), but it was allegedly haunted by two ghosts. One was a monk who was I think an asylum patient, and the other a traditional “white lady” entity that seem to haunt just about every castle and pub in England.
The great Hall which we used as the main training room was exactly that, complete with a giant fireplace, suits of armour, and a mantelpiece on top of which were two upturned wine glasses atop of which were two rotting apples, one on each. Nobody was allowed to touch the rotting apples; an ancient custom, they were changed to fresh apples every New Year at midnight, and left to decompose for the rest of the year. “Bad Things” happened to those who touched the apples, according to the guy who ran the bar (a lovely wee snug just off the great hall). The barman was really sincere about the “curse” and couldn’t stress it enough to the staff and any of the young people who’d listen. We dutifully told all the kids not to touch the apples. (This didn’t stop me taking an apple from the kitchen, grinding it in the snowy grit outside until it looked decomposed, then leaving it by someone’s bed in the night so they got a scare when they awoke, but that’s by the way).
TO BE CTD IN PART 2!

The general Destiny 2 reaction seems overwhelmingly negative... especially in comments sections on gaming sites and forums like Gamefaqs etc. "Destiny 1.5" seems to be the en-vogue witticism. Thoughts?

Dunno what people were expecting. We'll talk about it in a video soon. The core of the game, the gunplay, didn't really need any changes. It's great. Why change it? "The UI looks the same as Destiny 1." Yeah, because Bungie has literally won awards for how good the UI looks and functions. Why change it? "There's all the same races and enemies." Well, yeah, they weren't going to invent 4 new races for the sequel, we're pretty much gonna be seeing these guys for a while.
I think people just had higher expectations for sweeping, global changes to the game and while there are some things that are not a step forward (still 30 FPS on console, no private matches at launch again), I don't think there were many things that were a step back. Plus, Destiny has always historically been hated on all gaming sites since it launched because D1 launch was so bad and it's just cool to hate on the game since then.
I think the main issue is that Bungie didn't appear to take many risks. There's a difference between improvements from game to game and taking risks. Nothing in Destiny 2 really says "we're going out on a huge limb here." It mainly says, "alright, we know what works, we know what sucks, so we're gonna try to improve the stuff that sucks and anything that's good or we're comfortable with, we're not gonna touch at all." The strike is a great example. It is the same exact strike experience, just with some slight adjustments to make it a little more interesting. Improvements, but no risk taking. I feel like that's the underlying reason people don't appear to be as impressed. I wouldn't call the various exploration additions to be risks because when you go from having literally nothing to something, that's not a risk in my opinion. More on this later.

Some women claim to be "eating for two" during pregnancy. How is this misleading? What additional nutrients are needed during pregnancy, and what should be avoided?

Well, for starters, the dietary requirements of an infant, as compared to an adult are completely different, in both nutrient and amount, and frequency. Let alone a zygote or gestational fetus. Second, while pregnant, mother and baby are symbiotic, but the fetus is technically parasitic. It will take what it needs regardless of the mother's health or diet. If it can't take enough for lack of resources, it will develop abnormally or die. Thus, as long as the mother eats a normal, well-balanced diet, everything will be fine.
As for additions to the diet; folic acid, iron, and vitamin D are often suggested, but a prenatal multivitamin will do the trick nicely.

Are you stupid? The Zero is nexto to the (5 +5) so when you multiply them it's 0 -.- you can't multiply with the other () it's a (-) between them stupid -.-

Supid fuck i didnt think that way
I did the additions and subtractions first and then multiplied the number by zero.
People ask that question for a reason, because it's tricky.

I AM A MUSLIM AND I SAY NO TO VALENTINE'S DAY WHY MUSLIMS DON'T CELEBRATE VALENTINE'S DAY? 1- In Islam, the festivals are clearly defined and well established, and no additions or subtractions may be accepted. 2- Celebrating valentine's day means resembling or imitating people of other religion.

Peaches
yes, exactly! which is why I constantly remind the people that I love, that I love them! today is just another day, we should be always giving and always loving.
I used to love with an expectation which was unhealthy. when you love with an expectation, you will want something from them. and when you can't meet that expectation, you'll feel disappointed and angry at yourself, and with the other party/vice versa.
this is why I'm open with my love. today I've been telling the people I love that I love them, and they feel validated and safe. likewise, when they wish me and/or tell me that they love me, I feel happy and comfortable.
"we accept the love we think we deserve."
and we do deserve love! we've worked so hard, made countless of sacrifice that sometimes, we even forget to love ourselves. yes, things like death and loss will happen, that is inevitable because life is like a sandwich: birth is one slice and death is the other. what you put in between the slices is entirely up to you!
I see today, the fourteenth of february two thousand and seventeen, as just another ordinary day. I still do sweet things like unexpected gifts and flowers for my soul family. I don't care about how much I have to spend on them, because I see this as an investment. an investment in our friendship! I love the phrase, "it's the little things that matter," because it's true! you matter. I matter. we all matter! small gestures like buying me lunch, or grabbing my charger/your charger when my battery is low counts as huge actions because that shows how much you truly care.
we are inevitably going to experience relationships in our lives: professional relations, companionship, familial love, and the list goes on.
in Islam, there are rules and guidelines so that we are aware of our boundaries: this is only to PROTECT us. if you see a guy and a girl hanging out together all the time, what are people naturally going to assume? that they're "Together" right! for all you know, they could be siblings or cousins or whatever! the sad truth is that humans do make assumptions, and they make them often. but first impressions don't last once you get to know someone.
so you see, guidelines in islam are in our lives to protect us from naysayers and gossipers etc. sometimes we have to be stubborn enough not to care what the world/outsiders think and pursue what you love. I love my religion, and I love my friends who become my family, so that is why I love unconditionally, whole-heartedly, and deeply! with no strings attached or any hidden agendas!
love is love.
and we need it to grow strong together, regardless of the circumstance life puts us through. just accept life's hardships and challenges, and then move on. we need to learn how to let go in order to move on. it's like that one lah (as they say in singapore, malaysia and some say batam). life is liddat one.

I AM A MUSLIM AND I SAY NO TO VALENTINES DAY

I AM A MUSLIM AND I SAY NO TO VALENTINE'S DAY
WHY MUSLIMS DON'T CELEBRATE VALENTINE'S DAY?
1- In Islam, the festivals are clearly defined and well established, and no additions or subtractions may be accepted.
2- Celebrating valentine's day means resembling or imitating people of other religion.
3- The love referred to in this festival ever since the Christians revived it is romantic love outside the framework of marriage. The result of that is the spread of fornication and immorality.
So, how can we believe that valentine's day is of any benefit to Muslims? The truth is that it is a call for more permissiveness and immorality, and the forming of forbidden relationships.
The husband who sincerely loves his wife does not need this holiday to remind him of his love. He expresses his love for his wife at all times and on all occasions

Halo kak Zara, it's been a while since the last time I went to askfm and I just found out that you're currently living in Japan. Sorry if it sounds rude, but I notice that your skin looks brighter since you live in Japan, no? Is it because of the skin care or the clear air and water there?

yes!! i still have spots and stuff but my general skin texture is improving idk if it's the air and water or new additions to my skincare lineup (which includes the elusive kose sekkisei lotion)
