Salutations! Que pensez-vous de la chasse comme passe-temps ?

tizianoleo
Never understood how hunters can flaunt corpses of dead animals with smiles on their faces. You are literally putting an animal in pain for your own enjoyment. That is textbook definition of sadism. If you don't absolutely need the food or income it provides. Even if you eat it afterwards, it's still fucked up. You're still killing a living being for enjoyment. You can get enough meat at the grocery store, and you can buy deer meat. Go play Hunter: Call of the Wild or something you lowlifes.
I'm with you on this one. Totally agree with everything. They try to make it some noble thing when it's hurting the animal and totally inefficient. Most people don't like hurting animals, so this is more popular than the downvotes.
If you get a direct hit on the heart they don’t run they drop immediately I’ve shot dozens of deer and yes when you get a lung shot or a gut shot especially they will run for a little bit and then lay down and die but the flailing in pain you’re talking about is just their nerves firing off for the last time this becomes incredibly evident when you know you killed an animal like in traps when you are able to walk up and get a solid brain shot on them the flailing is the sign that brain activity has stopped and they are dead. I don't like to see animals suffer, I love animals. But when I go camping in my cabin and hunt for food, it's like you can feel an unspoken bond between you and the wildlife. We're not Rambo-ing around just shooting up the world, I want to take out my target in as few shots as possible. Sometimes you don't even see a deer or elk for hours, if at all! It's hard to explain why we still like to hunt in the modern age, but if nothing else, it brings me to a calm state that makes me feel like a part of nature, instead of just another dude going to work eating microwave noodles.
It needs doing. There's too many boars and roedeer in Sweden and too few hunters to shoot them off. And I reason that if I'm going to eat meat, which I need because I have way too high metabolism to be vegetarian or vegan (I've tried several times since I loath the meat industry) so I prefer to eat animals that at least had freedom and natural lives, over the animals living in those nightmare farms.
I'm genuinely curious. I only killed an animal once. When I was about 14 I had bought an air pistol (this was in the UK, where people can only dream of owning a firearm), and I shot a bird high up in a tree, with one shot. It fell down by my feet, and lay there mute, with a small pool of blood forming on its chest. I was grief stricken that I had cut short this innocent animal's life, for no good reason. It just seemed so pointless. So for me, to tool up, with a bow, or a rifle and scope, gear and head into the mountains to track and kill a large animal, the purposefulness of it all, when it's not really necessary, seems peculiar, just a little. But people like doing it.

Beach or countryside?

Oh, that's a tough one! I genuinely enjoy both, I suppose if I had to choose though, would pick the beach. What can I say? I grew up in a seaside town. The salty smell of seaside air fills my mind with happy childhood memories, the sound of the waves brings me great comfort... I think I will always have a soft spot for the sea.

Do you spend a lot of time indoors?

You should get out for a quick 10-20 mins in the daylight once a day for vitamin D plus just the bonus of fresh air and a bit of exercise but other than that, staying in is fine. I'm a homebody and stay in a lot. But I do work 2 days a week and have a dog so that gets me out. I doubt it would do you serious harm staying in. Just try and get out a couple times a week and you'll be just fine.
We evolved outside, in a way it is where we are supposed to be. Artificial light, vidya, junk food, sitting down all day, and isolation have been shown to cause depression anxiety. When I was in school for engineering, I gained weight, developed terrible digestion problems, depression, anxiety. Forcing myself to be out on the trails for just a few hours a day, listening to a podcast made me feel like a different person! There are studies about sunlight doing way more for our health than just activate vitamin D production, although the vitamin D increase can help reduce inflammation which has been linked to impulsive, poor decision making. Exposure to sunlight has a huge impact on depression, seasonal affective disorder, and sleep quality.
Physically, it's bad because you need vitamin D to avoid rickets, which we mostly get from sunlight. People are studying the psychological effects still, but a lot of evidence suggests that people are happier if they spend time outside. Symptoms of ADD, anxiety, and autism spectrum disorders all seem to decrease in kids when they are outdoors more often. If you're indoors by yourself a lot, this can obviously lead to feelings of isolation, which can contribute towards depression.
To be fair, try to make sure you get some form of face to face socialization even if it's family. I had a rather bad experience years ago where I basically went into isolation with only some light over the phone conversation and never left that apartment at all for weeks at a time. It was not good for the mental health.
A lack of phisical exercise can make you obese and with that give you plenty more health concerns. The sun also provides essential vitamins wich are good for you. If you don't move at all blod clots can form and block your blood flow potentially causing death. There might be more but that's everything I can recite off the top of my head. When I dropped out of my old college to transfer to a new one but still had a month left on my apartment that I was the sole occupant of, I stayed inside for 4 days with the blinds drawn and played little big planet. I would've stayed in even longer but I had to go to work.
I've spent 11 straight days in a hospital. Also, since I work odd hours from home, I'll regularly go several days without going outside. I don't really plan to stay inside, I just tend to get caught up in my work.
I spent a lot of time in my room as well. I loved gaming, doing crafts, and making videos and such. I had no problem being by myself. It made socializing difficult, but once I got a job, it made it easier.

Best country in the world?

I've visited a couple countries, but honestly I'd still rather live in the US. The reason being that if I want to approximate the stuff I like about other countries, I can in the US. Mostly small stuff like food. But I can't transpose the things I like about the US to other countries. Like guns, classic cars, wide open spaces, relatively freer society and that other stereotypically American bullshit that I actually really like.
America is definitely not the best. we are number one in military budget and that's essentially it. As I live here and have only visited two other countries (Canada and Mexico) I don't think I have the authority to say which is the best to live in, as I have not lived anywhere else, but... I will say from the places I have been, Vancouver, Canada seems like it would be the best to live in. Firstly, for you war folks out there, we are placed in one of the most strategic positions in the world for fighting any of the eastern countries by boat or air. Secondly, for you economy people out there, we have the most abundant resources of precious stones, fuel, and coal in the southern hemisphere, and in the top 10 for the world. Thirdly, 93% of our people live on the coast, and the temperature various between (on average) 5 degrees Celcius and 40, depending on where you live, so if you prefer certain climates, we do cater for all that. Fourthly, our healthcare system is amazing. We recently pretty much bullied our government into stopping them charging a $20 fee to see the doctor. If you get sick, it's practically for free as part of our Medicare fund. We have centrelink, which is pretty much free money. Australia doesn't actually have many homeless people, and by that, I mean I've seen 3 in my entire life. One of them is voluntarily homeless. Fifthly/sixthly, for you geeks out there, we generally get games before other people, for you Nintendo fans, we have both of the New 3DS'. Seventhly, the culture is amazing. We have so many different people from all over the world, and we just love them. There is always going to be racism, sexism, and every nasty atrocity. But we look out for each other in Australia. Your mate is your mate, and he won't sue you for sneezing on him. Now Australia does have sucky bits. It doesn't snow in 90% of the land, we sometimes get movies later than other people, and yes, we don't have Netflix.
New Zealand. They avoid all the bullshit that goes on in the world, the people are lovely, the government is very progressive, the scenery is great, cost of living is less that Australia and most of western Europe, all kinds of weather. America. It has its issues but you can literally live in any kind of climate or environment you want. There are jobs for nearly every profession and many of those professions are world class with tons of opportunity and growth.

Write about someone you loved.

For some reason I thought that we wouldn't end before I told you all of these things -
I was as innocent as a kid with treasure in their pockets. Look, want to see this piece of seaglass I found?! Look, this rock has a quartz line in! Look, this is the cinema stub from that film we walked out of because it was awful! Look, this is the ring you found in that field overlooking Watergate! Look, this is the Polaroid we took when we were wine drunk and hanging upside down off the sofa. Remember that one? We tugged and pulled on that sofa until it was in front of the fire, and then we stayed up drinking spiked hot chocolate and telling stories. Sarah Jaffe was playing in the background and I was in love. I don't think I have been since, darling. I think you took my heart with you. It made me sad when I realised that, but it's okay. If you're the last man I love, it's okay.
I told you that I loved you so many times. But I didn't tell you why - I thought I had so much time. I thought we had the rest of our lives. First there was love, then there was the beach we were going to elope to, then there were the kids that were going to have your summer smile, my hands, and endless hope in their eyes. "I want to name them after the oceans" you'd said, playing with my hair and watching the sky. And I'd laughed because I was a teenager and the world was perfect in that moment. I can tell people that I have held forever in my hands, and it tasted of you.
So much changed in the months and years when Winter came. You left and I broke and broke and broke. The waves kept rolling over me until I was gasping for air and begging for it all to stop. Please, stop the world, I want to get off.
But Summer is here again. I just want you to know that I think of you every so often, and I love you.

Why do u Brits moan about the heat so much! Shut up!

Let me educate you anon :)
I think you need it... as well as a lesson in manners.
🌸 Generally the UK doesn't experience long periods of hot weather. Especially not to the extent that say America is use to.
🌸 Most houses are not fitted with air conditioning. Infact having air con in a house is not only a luxury, but with house designs here, having one fitted isn't particularly practical! So we have to have fans and the windows open, which lets face it, won't do much!
🌸 Houses here in the UK are heavily insulated! They are designed to withstand cold weather as well as heavy rain falls! So obviously having heavy insulation doesn't help with heat. It just holds it.
Those are just the top three points :)
Next will be your lesson in manners lol.

Your boyfriends all ditch you because you think you're better than them.

Dear Diary,
This morning started with a cold brew coffee - I elected to have my chia seeds powdered rather than crushed, because if I'll be crushing anything around me then it will be my family's hopes for me. My nutritionist is very upset that I haven't been following her warm air meal plan, so I treated myself to a breakfast of three large gulps of air.
I then scrolled through my notifications and read a peculiar comment from somebody that I don't know who is clearly far too invested in me. It puzzled me because I have been the conscious uncoupler in all of my conscious uncouplings. Most bizzare.
I decided that I would make myself feel better by treating myself to a blowdry and a shopping spree. I cancelled my Mandarin class as I was just feeling too emotionally fatigued to commit to it.
I spoke to my therapist and he suggested picturing myself in my happy place, so I went to the Fumoir at Claridges to pick up both myself and a future ex-husband.

You grow up, you get older, you realise……….

alyeraza’s Profile PhotoSyed Ali Raza
It was nice day today. Myheart felt light after a long time, for a very short period. In a 20 min ride, to be precise. It rained after such a hot spell, I can't begin to tell you how hot it has been the past few days, especially in our portion. So when the first drop fell, as i exited my university gate, the first thing i thought about was how kitchen wont be hell for ammi today.
Even though the van seats made my back throb and every speedbraker threw me atleast half a foot in the air and Raza uncle was cursing every man, animal and vehicle in his way, it was all weirdly serene.
I have always hated rain because why should stupid water from the sky ruin my hair and clothes (sometimes a little makeup) and make me cold and why should i be forced to change up because of it? Weirdly enough, not today. I let it ruin my shoes and my clothes and my face (much to van walay uncle's dismay, the van's seats and mats too hehe)
Luckily, i stole my brother's headphones in the morning so I had 'dil ko karaar aya' playing in the bg, while the air blew at my face with all its might. And I let it. (?)
I wonder why I didnt shut the window today and curse at the cold wind and sharp drops under my breath like I always do.
Not putting an active effort to save yourself can be lovely sometimes. What do I call it? Submission? Or surrendering? Or just the plain old you're-overthinking-simple-situations-and basic-feelings-again-Sarah? 🤔
Anyways, then I came home and listened to a barish-exclusive song that someone suggested. It was a little too romantic for my taste but i liked it. It was nice. Yeah, it was a nice day.

INMARVELWETRUST’s Profile Photo#INMXRVELWETRUST⠀☛⠀ᵍ̲ʳ̲ᵒ̲ᵘ̲ᵖ
⠀⠀ ⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀┌.★. . Jest żołnierzem US. Air Force, astronautką NASA, ale ponad wszystko kobietą o mocy Supernowej. Lubię jej twardy charakter, wojskową postawę i gotowość do poświęceń.
Uwielbiam obie.

Are you a morning person or night person?

Night owl. My dad is a night owl too.. and we are both creative people (I'm a writer and he's an artist) and we both get our best work done at night. Most productive and creative hours. So maybe its genetic. But I've met lots of other creative people who are night people too, and have said the same.
Very much a morning person. I'm so much productive then. Like I'll drag at cleaning my house in the evening after work, but getting up at 5am and cleaning is no problem for me. Years of working a job where I had to be there between 5-630 am depending on the day have conditioned me. I do go to bed between 9-10pm though, so there is that.
It was pretty common for me to get up at 5, shower, eat, and drive off to school, arriving by 6 so I could grade and lesson plan 3-4 mornings of the week. I can't do much meaningful work past 8am, but if I need to power-grade, I'm up at 4am to get to work.
So night. So very very night. Left to my own devices I naturally gravitate to sleeping from 8am to 4pm. Even then I prefer not to leave the house until dusk because I'm very sensitive to light. Spend most of my life in dark rooms or wearing multiple pairs of sunglasses.
My brain is altering my sleep schedule. I'm preparing to be kooky grandma, I think. I am now routinely waking up for 1-2 hours in the middle of the night nearly every night. And I may nap a bit during the day. But, overall, I'm sleeping less, just like a granny. It's kind of a cool transition, to be honest.
I seem to have developed into being neither. I think it's a combination of no longer working night shifts and of having moved to a totally new environment with a lot of new things going on. I can easily go to bed at 10.30 pm and sleep (or at least stay in bed) until 9.30 am. At the moment I'm just letting it be, since I have no plans, but when school starts, something has to be done...
I am very much a night owl. I work 2:30-10:30, and generally my sleep cycle is 2:00am - 10:00am. I've always functioned better on a night schedule, and just find that I'm much less of a jackass if I ignore the existence of mornings. That being said, I occasionally have to pull a morning shift for a coworker, or end up travelling with family, and am up around 4:45am. Gorgeous time of day. With enough coffee, and in a quiet environment, I can absolutely enjoy that time of day.
Mornings have a particular beauty to them. I love the fresh morning air and the peace. The smell of morning dew, the chirping birds. I'm not a morning person, though. I remember watching a beautiful sunrise on my nice, peaceful campus and thinking "fuck this, it's too early." I'm kind of hoping that when I'm old I'll magically become a morning person.

What do you think people must understand?

They’re gonna realize it one day that happiness 's never about ur job or ur degree or being in a relationship..never about followin' the footsteps of all of those who came before ya.. it was never about being like the others.
One day, they’re gonna see that happiness 's always about the discovery, hope, listening to ur heart and followin' it wherever it chooses to go.
It's always about being kinder to urself.. about embracing the person u were becoming.
One day, they 'll understand that happiness 's always about learning how to live .. breathin' the fresh air outside ur bubble.. erasing the limits that others have set for u ..that ur happiness 's never in the hands of others...
It was always under ur control.. Only u 🦋✨💙🌠🦋
