Do you have an obsession If so what is it

Tu aimes regarde quoi à la TV ?

I like watching sitcoms and comedy shows. Like the office, parks and rec, and one day at a time.
Sci-fi, fantasy, horror. Nature documentaries. I enjoy historical documentaries as well if they're well-done, but in practice they're a toss-up... my higher education was in history, so I get very cross and start ranting about source bias and the habit presenters have of glossing over alternate theories and important context. I generally don't enjoy comedies - while I do have a sense of humour, it's not quite a normal one - and really, really hate the current fashion for everything being grimdark and hopeless, so even though I love fantasy, I disliked the adaption of Game of Thrones. For the same reason, crime-type thrillers and dark dramas are a no from me. Not interested in sports, dislike 'reality' TV and anything competitive.
I usually watch sci-fi (Humans and the first season of Westworld are my favorites). I also loved Carnivale on HBO (not science fiction, but the first season was beautiful and creepy), and Les Revenants (it's like a French subtle zombie series). The first season of Orphan Black was good too.
I don't really watch TV these days. Genres I tend to like darker dramas a la Game of Thrones and Black Sails, but also historical/period pieces like the various Jane Austen miniseries and Downton Abbey. Crime dramas like Law and Order. Dramas are probably my favorite genre. I watch a lot of fantasy shows or sci fi type stuff. I also like some comedies. And cartoons! My favorite shows are Lost and Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Forensic Files and Spongebob (i watch The Vampire Diaries every now and then too). I was watching Outlander due to the historical aspect but it was way to campy and silly for me to finish.
I'm not much into tv shows, though I found a few good ones I enjoy watching. All of them are at least a bit comical and won't get boring or too weird to understand. The exceptions are 'the travelers' & HTGAWM but I stopped watching those like after 3 seasons too, because I barely watch TV or use netflix
Film Noir. A mostly post WW2 film genre that exposed the dark (literally) side of America. Most were low budget B movies shot at night in Los Angeles and at various studio backlots. They're an incredible time capsule of LA in the 40s-50s. Plus I love a good murder.
Fantasy, Sci-fi, drama. Those very strange, unusual movies and shows that leave your mouth hanging open as you ponder what the hell you just watched.

Haven’t had fb or ig in 3 months!!!

I have fb and ig but hardly ever use them. fb I look at once a week for 5 minutes and ig I never look at. The whole concept of posting selfies never made any sense to me anyway.

Common Examples of Selfies:
Hey... here I am standing in the kitchen, here I am eating a hamburger, here I am looking in the mirror, here I am watching cartoons, and again looking in the mirror, and playing with dog, and talking to my boyfriend, and once again looking in the mirror, and brushing my teeth, and now I am taking a selfie feeling sad, another crying, another eating and yes...once again looking in the mirror.
NO THANKS.

De qui êtes vous le plus proche dans votre famille ?

Synyst911’s Profile PhotoSynyst911
Right now my daughter. I got divorced after a faithful happy marriage (I thought so 27 yrs.). It hit my daughter and I pretty hard. She is such a sensitive soul and so am I. We seem to share a unique bond in that we have egg shell outsides and if we stick together we keep each other from breaking emotionally.
My grandmother. Always been there for me, given me advice, kept my secrets, dealt with my mood swings from depression and overall a very sweet and selfless woman. Took care of me as a child while my mom was working and even watched my Saturday morning cartoons with me even though she doesn't speak a lick of English. She is the only person on this planet I'd ever trust my life to and I dread the day I won't have her around anymore.
My step father and surprisingly the sister I got in the most fights with when we grew up together. My step father has always been in my life even before he got married to my mom. Even though he was just a family friend at the time he opened my eyes to sci-fi and fantasy and had intelligent conversations with me even though I was a child. We would theorize space travel and it's downfalls and those conversations are the ones I treasure most. I have 8 sibling between my divorced family and I am the oldest. My middle sister 6 years younger who has a different dad use to fight all the time. We said some really nasty shit to each other all the time. Now that we are adults we are better friends then my other sisters because we go through a lot of the same issues with the rest of our family and have bonded over it. Can't really say why it when that changed but we have an awesome relationship now.
She and I are eerily alike on most things, but have our own respective differences. We've both always been immensely insecure, shy, and introverted, but the one thing we could rely on was that we had had each other's backs and could rely on one another for companionship. I always felt very distressed as a child and a teenager if I didn't share a lunch or recess period with her, because that often meant I would be alone. Even as an adult, I find myself feeling antsy if I have to attend a social function without her, as horrible as it sounds; the first thing we tend to ask each other about social functions amongst people we both know is, "are you going?"
My dad. He’s my best friend and has been as long as I can remember. I was incredibly depressed as a teenager but he was always there for me with no judgement. On sad mornings when I’d cry before leaving the house, he’d drive me to school and buy me a treat to make the day better- just like a donut and coffee or something simple, but it always made me feel loved. He’s the smartest, most helpful, kindest, funniest man I know. He can fix anything and will teach you how to do it patiently the whole way. He makes me laugh every day and always goes out of his way to help his friends.

What cartoons do you (used to) watch? 🎬

King of the Hill, Bob's Burgers. My dad used to watch The Simpsons and I'd just hang out sometimes not really watching it.
Bob's Burgers is still airing here. It's on tonight. Roadrunner. I wish that poor coyote could get him just once. To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Rick and Morty. The humour is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer’s head. There’s also Rick’s nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation- his personal philosophy draws heavily from Narodnaya Volya literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realise that they’re not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Rick & Morty truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn’t appreciate, for instance, the humour in Rick’s existential catchphrase “Wubba Lubba Dub Dub,” which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev’s Russian epic Fathers and Sons. I’m smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Dan Harmon’s genius wit unfolds itself on their television screens. What fools.. how I pity them.
I still like a lot of older cartoons. Gargoyles is still awesome, so is Sailor Moon and Naruto. I also still love Disney movies. Just because I'm an adult doesn't mean I need/want to always watch things with complicated story lines or relationship drama or shit like that.
The Simpsons. I grew up during what most Simpsons fans seem to consider the "golden years" (I'm 34), but I never really watched the show as a kid for whatever reason. A few months ago, I found a really good deal for the first eight season DVD sets on eBay and went for them.
Knew of someone who watched kids cartoons exclusively or PBS kid shows. When I visited she would have Sesame street on, or Paw Patrol. She seemed to really like Paw Patrol. This was a woman in her 80's and still of sound mind and body. She told me that she just got tired of seeing all the hate and violence of adult television shows (even the news).
Yes! I still like to watch the Warner Bros cartoons I grew up on (I'm probably a lot older than most of the people in this thread). Now I get the humor that went over my head when I was a kid, because those cartoons weren't written just for kids. There was adult humor in them, too. And I really appreciate the genius of Mel Blanc. Recently I got in to One Punch Man as a non-theatrical film anime. I only really dabbled in anime for Studio Ghibli or Akira which I enjoyed but never got in to any series before. One Punch Man is legit though even if the animation is a little weird at times.

Why did older cartoons cut off the heads of the adults in the show? :O (i.e. Tom and Jerry, Powerpuff girls, Charlie Brown, ect) Did they ever have a head/face all this time??? Were the animators lazy??? Or, is it deeper and more psychological, than that? lol.

Coolio247’s Profile PhotoJustine Coolioness
It's definitely not the animators being lazy Haha I think it's mainly just them wanting to keep the main focus on the titular characters, like when the adults are only supposed to be simple narrative devices and not a crucial part of the story. It's different with shows like Phineas & Ferb and Fairly Odd Parents where the parents bring a lot of heart and comedy into the story 😁

It's an ongoing joke from Hannah barberra because the old cartoons did it as well. In the studio they made it a point to only have the focus on specific characters. There may have been a racial influence however, in Tom and Jerry because the old lady was of color and back then, colored people weren't supposed to show their faces on cartoons unless in a blackface comedy setting.
How far we've come. Eh?

Im in early 20s and i find boomer humor funnier than gen z humor. Anyone else feel the same?

"Baby Boomer Humor" by Nico, Quote by Rodney Dangerfield
I agree with you. Generally baby boomers do not take themselves too serious. Baby Boomers love to laugh. Many of us grew up watching the Three Stooges, F Troop, Hogan's Hero's and cartoons like The Road Runner, Popeye and comedians like Rodney Dangerfield and hosts like Johnny Carson who were allowed to say outrageous things to make people laugh without the fear of being censored or hurting people's feelings. The problem with contemporary culture is that too many people see themselves as a victim and often see laughing at our human folly as a form of abuse, racism or insensitivity and therefore laughing at ourselves is not tolerated. In short, free speech has been censored by the "Woke" ruling class and young militants who perceive humor as a form of human bondage and white supremacy.
Remember, baby boomers grew up during the cold war.
We were taught that nuclear weapons would destroy the world but if we hid under our desks in an air raid drill, we would survive. We were the generation that was told, by our government, that America was winning the Vietnam War and that winning would stop the spread of communism. We lived through the assassinations of three of our greatest leaders J.F.K, M.L.K and R.F.K while being told that Russia was responsible, the mafia was responsible or Cuba was responsible and finally told Lee Harvey Oswald was responsible using a bolt action rifle physically incapable of firing the three shots that killed J.F.K. Sadly, we knew instinctively that our government was lying to the American people and covering up the truth.
As we aged we also witnessed 911 and then the Iraq war and once again our government lied to us concerning weapons of mass destruction as a pretext to justify their corruption and insatiable need to accumulate power and wealth at the expense of American lives. And most recently we were forced to experience the Fake Media, Russian Hoax, Ukrainian Hoax, a questionable 2020 election and a manufactured Covid virus that has killed millions of people worldwide, destroyed economies, resulted in thousands of suicides and psychological problems, all the while listening to our government blame Trump Supporters, Christians and anyone living in red states for the slaughter.
Baby Boomers are NOT laughing anymore.
In fact, We The People are angry and we want honest answers!

Vous aimez les animés

I like action scenes done in (good) animation more than live action w/ special effects. There just something uniquely stylish about hand drawn action that even blockbuster films haven’t been able to reproduce. Other than that, there’s nothing inherent about anime as a medium that’s different than live action for me - but there are things that anime does that live action just doesn’t for whatever reason. Someone on this sub mentioned that anime has internal monologues and reflections much more than live action. For me, this is often makes characterization stronger, and characters are the most important aspect of a show for me. Interestingly, my favorite live action tv show has a lot of internal monologues. (Check out Limitless if you’re interested.) Because it has a very idealized, heavy-handed, and soothing way to telling stories, specifically in how they explore and explain character's motivations and have inner-dialogue. Even in a lot of anime that have complex and well told stories, everything is always made clear in the end and there's nothing to be left wondering about which is something I struggle with in real life since nothing is ever that certain. Love the music. In anime the music it's not just background like in the western series, it's created for a separate release on albums. Often this is created by real composers. In western TV series, 90% of the time, instead of music, is a blank background. In the anime, on the contrary, music plays almost constantly and is sometimes performed even by a symphony orchestra. I love music in Shoujo Shuumatsu Ryokou and I don’t see any analogue in regular TV shows. The aesthetic of Anime is one that I've always preferred over that of American animation. Whereas American cartoons are either geared towards children or adults, there is anime out there that caters to both children and adults, as well as the infamous "shounen" genre catered towards teenagers. You can always be more expressive with animation than live-action, more exaggerated, and a lot of that is due to the work of Walt Disney, who Osamu Tezuka used as inspiration. You can exaggerate as much as you want. The only limiting factor, creatively, is whether you can draw what you see in your mind. I like that anime explores complex themes more often than western animation, and that it's willing to show more taboo subjects, as well as in general doesn't really hold back on things like violence. Plus I just like the art styles of anime more. Because it make characters that are obviously fake seem real. When I'm watching live-action film, I know it's fiction, but because it's a real-world setting, it's easier to buy into the illusion that the events unfolding are real too. With anime, it's obvious that I'm watching animation and that should keep me from buying into the illusion/suspending disbelief, but I do anyway because a lot of stories and characters have so much depth and complexities.

Do you consider yourself an interesting/boring person? How so?

I think I'm boring. I don't have any hobbies besides reddit and occasionally binging a tv show, I haven't experienced a lot of interesting things (that are positive), there's nothing I know particularly much about, and if you talk to me I don't know what to say most of the time. Regarding the hobbies, there are a few things I'd like to get into (like oil painting and wood carving) but I don't have that much money and it always costs so much initially to buy all the tools and stuff and if I have the choice of either spending my money on lots of takeaway food and clothing or on tools that I don't even know I'll use twice, it's not a difficult decision. Mostly, I'm infinitely curious about the world and people. When I meet someone new I see a chance of learning more, discovering someone and finding out what we might have in common. I've cultivated all this diversity of interests because every member of my family likes different things and we always pay attention to each other and learn from each other (dad's a mathematician and physicist who has a rock band, mom is an interior-design nerd who loves science documentaries and learning about different cultures, big brother is a history-geek, programmer and photographer who rescues dogs, sister in law is an engineer and practices karate, middle brother is a writer and editor who's getting into graphic design and wants to study history, i've even adopted many interests from my little nephews and niece, like some cartoons and videogames). I also have a witty and silly sense of humor (thanks to both my parents) and most of the times feel confident around people (other times I get very anxious) mostly because I know I can handle pretty much any conversation topic (either because I have something to contribute or because I know nothing about it but want to learn a bit). I also try to make other people feel comfortable, specially if they're shy. I'm always respectful. Of course, to some people I would be boring anyway. Some might not like my sense of humor or whatever. Also, most of my hobbies are done inside, so I'm trying to get into something that would take me outside (installed PokemonGo for this reason but I'm considering going back to french classes) because I'm dating someone. But right now? Boring as fuck. I'm a student, and all I basically do is study, party, Netflix and occasional interesting things related to my degree. I can't afford to indulge in my hobbies, or have the time to travel even around my country. I like gaining extra knowledge through reading and stuff, but I'm awful at retaining it, so I'm not very good at contributing to meaningful conversations regarding stuff like politics. I'm good at chatting biology, feminism, climate change and animals, that's pretty much it.

What do you think of love

Love is when you love him just for nothing.
Love is when you change your world for it.
Love is watching cartoons together.
Love is when it is mutual.
Love is a surprise.
Love is the moment,
Moment of happiness.
But in our time there is no love.
Sincerity is zero.
Would bring kindness back into fashion.

#AlizehShah will be receiving hate for the next two days for wearing a tank top by the same countrymen whose number 1 trending program in Ramzan was Sexify.

Exactlyyyyy!!! I'm not her fan when it comes to acting or singing but that doesn't change the fact that she's set beauty standard really high and she's such a gorgeous girl!
Look, i won't say i don't listen to music or that I've never seen someone in a top before. Just because you can't do what she did or is doing in her life doesn't mean youve a licence to force her to live a life you're living otherwise you'll hate her for being different & for not being able to accept her. Shes not hiding or doing something surprisin at all!
People are insanely diplomatic & sus. I believe the actual reason why she's facing this backlash is because all eyes were on her ever since she came to the limelight! Every girl low-key liked or envied her & she was the national crush of men of our country as well, the attention she's getting nowadays shows how much everyone's obsessed with her. I just wanna know if pious mazhabi netizens who are attacking her are living in a cave where they haven't ever seen various celebrities in bold / modern outfits.. She's just the victim of their catharsis, a soft target and nothing else. I remember Maya Ali donned the same top for Teefa in Trouble's announcement poster and she recieved massive hate too as if she doesn't have her own personality or choice in irl and she was Mannu from Mann mayal or any other project she's done in her career so far. I'm sure some most of those cartoons may haven't uttered a single word yet in defense of Palestine but have an opinion or advise for alizeh shah and other pretty babes of our country while they clearly don't give a flying f about these shitheads & their crappy remarks & in my opinion they shan't reply anyone as well! 😕

Why the hell did Bandai not make toys with Skurd accessories then?! It would've been soooo cool

Cartoon Network never shared their programming schedule with Bandai. My guess is because CN was just making up the schedule on the fly without putting any thought into it. Also, we can make cartoons faster than they can make toys, and CN just aired the last season without any consideration for how long it would take Bandai to make anything
