God, no. Have you been outside, recently? There are cherry trees everywhere, dude, and they're covered in blossom. The magnolia flowers are all out and they look like angel wings. There are birds yelling for you to wake up every single morning.

And then! Then you've got the friends who pick you up something from the shops just because they saw it and thought of you. The friends who share their snacks, who share their funny stories and their hugs and their warmth. You've got the boy who reminds you just a liiiitle bit of your collie (his eyes light up when he sees you and he comes bounding over, so it's kinda fair.)

And then, on top of that! You've got the random stranger who holds a door open for you, the person who stops and says that they like your coat. All of these little acts of kindness that amount to some seriously warm moments.

The world is fundamentally a beautiful place. There are some bad people and some tough moments, but it will give back the love that you give it. Not always straight away, some times are really long and dark. But what goes around comes around, I promise.

A good breakfast is like a good outfit. Depends on what I am doing. If I need quick and light, berries and granola. If I have a lazy morning, Dutch babies with heaps of fresh fruit, if I have extra time, waffles. If breakfast for dinner (or a hungry morning), eggs Benedict never disappoints. It’s all dependent on the type of day :) Breakfast is amazing!
When I lived in China, I got this sliced-up bread/ pancake thing (not scallion pancakes) that the lady brushed with a spicy sauce and ate it on my way to school. Sometimes I wish I could get them in the US.
Spanish potato omelet. I fry thin slices of potato and then add egg to the top, and whatever meat/veggies/etc. Then bake it for about 10 minutes. It comes out like a pie/frittata. Delicious.
Recently, since until school starts again i have mornings to myself, i eat soup and a yoghurt. I have to have light breakfasts and i find making a soup therapeutic, and eat the yoghurt while i wait. When i dont have mornings, im a big fan of eggs all kinds of way (currently in love with medium boiled eggs) because theyre either quick to make or i can make up beforehand and give great protein; toast or oatmeal usually go with it because without carbs im hungry in an hour.
If I have just a little more time, I love breakfast sandwiches. I use a large mug or small bowl, sprayed with cooking oil, and beat an egg and maybe a little milk in it. Cover it with a plate and microwave for one minute, stirring halfway through. It makes a perfect Egg McMuffin style disc of scrambled egg. I serve it on an English muffin, sometimes with a slice of cheese.
I love all of the suggestions here, but recently the most satisfying breakfasts for me have been... shredded wheat. (I'm an old lady now.) Super filling, healthy, and you can dress it up any number of ways depending on what you have on hand. Give it a try! It's not the quickest (prep and eat time is a little over 30 minutes), but every morning I have egg whites, half a grapefruit, and two slices of salmon avocado toast. It's about 550 calories, but it keeps me full and satisfied until the late afternoon.
Some kind of toast or biscuit, eggs with cheese and veggies, link sausage, maybe 1 biscuit with some gravy, coffee with cream or sugar and hash browns. But I've been really hungry for about 8 hours so I feel like I could eat all of this.
I don’t eat breakfast anymore due to intermittent fasting, but I still make my fiancé breakfast. Her favorites are avocado toast with some sliced grape or cherry tomatoes on top, simple breakfast sandwiches on English muffins, and just yogurt with granola. She’s also a fan of anything involving hash browns.
Usually something involving eggs and a bread product. Today it's a piece of leftover quiche and a piece of toast. Maybe scrambled eggs, maybe a bagel, but I learned three or four years ago that eggs were hands down the best thing

V angličtině existuje nádherný termín "cherry picking", v češtině má snad ještě krásnější vyjádření "vyzobávání rozinek".
Cherry picking je jedno z poměrně klasických neštěstí, co se při setkávání širší veřejnosti a vědy objevuje. Nejčastěji se prý zaznamenává třeba u klimatických změn nebo u debat o škodlivosti tabákových výrobků. Co to znamená?
Jednoduše vybírání si pouze těch dat, názorů a lidí, co vyhovují tomu, co chceme vidět. Když si vybíráte třešně ze stromu, přece si nebudete brát ty nezralé zelené - i kdyby byl strom z 90 % nedozrálý, vyberete si nějaké ty nejvýše posazené, červené a sladké třešně. Pokud byste pak ukázali svou sklizeň někomu, kdo ten strom neviděl, velmi snadno by si myslel, že celý strom byl obsypaný těmi nejzralejšími třešněmi.
Ale to není pravda. Prostě jste jen vzali ten střípek z reality, co vám zrovna vyhovuje, a prezentovali ho jako realitu celkovou.
Dá se to dělat takřka s jakýmikoliv daty. Při pátrání zcela rozhodně najdete studie, co mluví o pozitivních účincích tabáku (a nebude jich málo). Stejně tak najdete studie o tom, že vakcíny způsobují autismus, že pít vodu je nezdravé, že nosit respirátory nedává smysl.
Ale v tom asi je ten háček. Proč musíte hledat tak hluboko? Proč je jich výrazně méně než studií, co prezentují názory jiné nebo dokonce opačné? Jak byly ty studie prováděny - neproběhl třeba cherry picking už v jejich metodice?
Pozor na to, abyste pro třísku nepřehlédli les. A ještě větší pozor na to, abyste pro jednu zralou třešničku nepřehlédli strom obsypaný těmi nedozrálými.

Lần này mình đi, thuê xe cùng anh chị mười sáu chỗ. Cây lộc của mình vì lâu không có nước nên héo rũ và cây kim tiền thì hấp hối. Mình dọn cành khô, cắt lá héo và tưới nước cho nó. Hy vọng em kiên cường đến hai ba tháng sau mình về.
Mình đi thăm ông bà. Ông nội mình mừng thọ 95, rõ bọn mình mừng ông cuối cùng ông lại cho chúng mình. Mình chụp ảnh ông cùng đại tỷ nữa. Mọi người hay bảo ông thong dong như một vị tướng ý, dù sao mấy bài thơ hồi bé mình cần đều là ông sáng tác giúp mình. Về thăm bà ngoại thì bà dục bọn mình yêu đương chỉ vì mấy hôm trước bà đi ăn cưới một bạn bé hơn mình một tuổi. Bà cũng tìm cái này lấy cái kia cho bọn mình đưa đi nhưng mình không nhận. Một phần vì lười xách, phần khác vẫn là do mình lười ăn. Bà mình có hai cây đào, một trong hai còn nở rực rỡ rất đẹp. Mình chụp khoe với bạn và trong lúc video call lag đến không thể lag hơn khoe luôn cái cây cao cao trong vườn mà có tổ chim làm lẫn trứng chim nữa.
Mình tới nhà họ hàng chơi. Uống một chén nhỏ rượu vang sau đó mặt đỏ bừng bừng. Anh mình nhìn mình sau đó quay sang xem số độ. 10,5. Chị họ nhìn mình ngạc nhiên vì cái độ này đến bà ngoại cũng uống được năm chén. Mình không say, dính vào chút cồn thì mặt mình đều đỏ thôi nhưng mình cũng không giải thích gì hết. Lần trước cùng đại gia đình uống rượu nếp cẩm mình có giải thích nhưng chẳng ai để ý, rút kinh nghiệm lần này mình cười cười. Mình lóc ngóc gắp ăn cái này đến cái kia và nghe mọi người nói chuyện. Mnb nmmcs tcemhshrn, mình vẫn lựa chọn im lặng.
Mọi người vẫn bảo mình gầy đi, nhưng chú bảo mình dáng đẹp hơn rồi đó. Hehe. Nhưng chú mự cũng nhắc mình nhớ gọi cho mọi người thường xuyên. À, mọi người nhắc mình đừng chăm chăm học nhớ yêu đương nhưng mình cứ dạ dạ vâng vâng rồi bỏ ngoài tai. Mình vẫn chưa tưởng tượng nổi mình sẽ yêu hoặc thầm thương ai đó và cả đám bạn mình cũng vẫn độc thân nên chơi với mọi người, mình thấy mình bây giờ bình thường mới là trạng thái bình thường. Khi mình thấy mọi người mỗi lần gặp đều là mỗi lần nhắc mình làm mình cảm thấy giờ mà không yêu thì mình muộn màng rồi á, cũng làm mình tự dưng tuổi còn trẻ trước khi bị cơm áo gạo tiền áp, xã hội đòn hiểm đánh đã bị gánh nặng tình yêu đè bẹp.
Đến khi về nhà thì mình nằm phơi cái thân dài ra giường. Mỗi lần ngồi xe đều rút hết năng lượng một ngày của mình, mệt thật. Mình dùng wifi hàng xóm, dãy dụa load bằng được mạng như cá chép vượt long môn. Tết này mình chơi vài lần trò khủng long vượt ải chứ không cày uno.
Mình tranh thủ nhắn tin với vài người, nghe bạn bè hát hò và cách màn hình chúc nhau. Mỗi lần năm nào chuyện này đều làm mình vui vẻ bởi vì mình vài năm nay ít khi có thể gặp mọi người. Niên Niên nghe mình bảo mình nếm chút rượu và rồi bạn cười hỏi mình ngon không, ổn chứ. Chà, đúng là đại ma vương, mình bảo mình ổn nhưng mình vẫn thích rượu mơ hồi trước hoặc cốc cherry hơn.
Năm nay mình không ghi nhiều, mình lười. Ngày nghỉ cuối cùng kết thúc vậy bài về Tết cũng dừng há, mình có thứ cần lưu nhưng mình đã cất nó chỗ khác. G9theworld!
