I believe this is true. Many comedians suffer from debilitating depression that often leads to suicide or death from addiction or other health related issues associated with unhealthy lifestyles i.e. Robin Williams, John Belushi, John Candy, Joshua Andrew Koenig, Michael Roof, Charles Rocket and Tony Hancock. Comedians appear happiest when they are performing in front of an audience where they thrive on the laughter, attention and feedback that they receive from their audience. And yet, when they are alone, they suffer in silence.

I do not know why this happens. Maybe they suffered abuse or humiliation as a child and they used humor as a way to put a happy face on their humiliation, isolation and sense of being rejected by their peers. Or... perhaps they were depressed because they did not understand their purpose in life or the reason for their existence. Or maybe they were depressed because they suffered from some form of mental illness that was undiagnosed. I am not sure; but, one thing I have observed is that many comedians are extremely sensitive people who are able to make us laugh because they understand human nature and are able to help us see our follies, hypocrisy, frailties, defects and absurd contradictions. In a real sense, comedians are our psychiatrists and their medicine is laughter. Maybe this is why we cry in silence whenever one of our favorite comedians suffers a tragic death. For we know that our prescription of laughter will not be refilled.

Das war in der Schule oder auch später in unserer Familie oft der running gag :D und das kannte einfach jeder. Wenn beim Vorstellungsgespräch schon sowas gefragt wird, würde ich auch wissen wollen, ob die lachen oder nur dämlich aus der Wäsche schauen.
Ich würde sagen, dass das der einzige Witz ist, den ich weiß, aber dass ich mich ja schließlich nicht als Alleinunterhalter beworben habe. Wird das dann ins Negative gezogen bzw. auf eine "negative Eigenschaft" hingewiesen, würde ich je nachdem eventuell auch sagen, dass sie einen Comedian oder Entertainer suchen sollen wenn ihnen gute Witze am Arbeitsplatz wichtig sind und ich dann hier wohl fehl am Platz bin. Dann würde ich aufstehen und das Gespräch hiermit beenden.
Ansonsten ist es wahrscheinlich nur ein nett gemeinter Versuch, die Stimmung aufzulockern und wenn dann alle was zu lachen haben und das Gespräch danach wieder ernsthaft weiter geht, ist es doch ganz witzig :D

Nobody famous cause I don't know them. I suppose I respect different people for different reasons, and try to be like them in the areas I respect. I may respect one person's adherence to complete honesty, and not respect their financial practices, while another person I may respect financially. I may respect someone's technical prowess at work, but not their attitude about women. All in all there are good things and bad things about everyone, so I take the things I do respect, and leave the rest.
Arnold Schwarzenegger. Also Chef Gordon Ramsay oddly enough. Versitile, masters of their craft, wildly successful in their own respect, all around amazing guys. I'm sure there's more but I'm drunk and that's all I can think of right now.
A person who knows themselves well. Someone who is consistent and clear about their intentions and thoughts. Someone who knows their limits and tries pushing them for growth. Someone who is open minded.
Stephen King. If you read On Writing the first half of the book is his autobiography as a writer. He goes over how he had two kids and how both he and his wife were working two jobs. Even with that he found time to work on his novels (namely Carrie). Also, when he discusses his alcoholism and drug addiction he never sugar coats it, and he writes about how when faced with the choice of drugs or his family he wasn't sure of what to choose. He's a writer who's accomplished more than 99% of writers could ever hope for, and through all of it he's never gotten egotistical or acted like he was above his fans or anything like that. He's just an normal guy with a great talent for writing, and he that's how he's always portrayed himself, and that's something I can really respect.
Eddie Izzard. He is an incredibly accomplished and hilarious stand-up comedian and a pretty good actor. I respect his bravery to perform and go out in "women's clothes" and his openness about being an Action Transvestite. I'm also super in awe of his inhuman ability to run obscene amounts of marathons (like earlier this year where he ran 27 marathons in 27 days for Sport Relief).
My coworkers. I'm working a really shitty job where most people don't last more than 6 months because they just come here for the money and want to get out as fast as possible. But some got stuck there, mostly because they have kids and have been working there too long to consider anything else (the job really doesn't bring anything to your resume, so it's just wasted years in terms of experience)

⠀⠀It might seem surprising to see a creature like her for anyone, in fact, it would be the most logical thing for the human sense. However, all but the authoritarian man lost concentration due to the strong bewilderment simply due to the fact that they didn't have the sufficient lack of sanity that, his persona, was made. He was unable to maintain a proper presentation without finishing cutting up corpses at least.
That wicked smile of an incredibly insane being was authentic, in addition to the chilling laughter that followed afterward.
