What never fails to cheer you up? 😢➡️😄

TobbeAsks’s Profile PhotoTobbe
When I'm in a bad mood I like:
💚 go for a walk or do other physical activities e.g. cycling (during warm seasons),
💚 hugs,
💚 spend time with my family,
💚 watching movies with my older brother,
💚 to watch his play on PS4 because it's better than watching Netflix for me. I'll miss it when I move out.
💚 look at my nephews photos,
💚 eat something good or just drink some tea,
💚 do shopping but not necessarily always for me,
💚 to take care of myself,
💚 sunbathing.
P.S. These are examples that come to my mind now.
P.S.2. In my view playing 'Hogwarts Legacy' would be able to cheer me up too. 🤭💚

What does your ideal life look like?

SavvyMae87347’s Profile PhotoSavvyMae
Living a life close to nature in a sparsely populated place (a cabin in the woods/mountains of my design with a bit of land to it?) where I can largely avoid people (and listen to my music freely), and where basic needs are easily met. (Not having to worry about basic necessities or health decline of my loved ones.)
A small cabin with essentials. Grow and eat my own produce. Enough space for my dog (and most likely other animals) to run around in the field.
As well as plenty of time for hobbies like racing and playing the drums.. Living an active lifestyle that involves travel, cycling and hiking and the money to sustain the lifestyle..

IYO, is it worthwhile to drink lucozade before exercise? I mean one bottle before running 10k or more, or cycling 50 miles or more. I’ve been told it’s unhealthy because it’s so sugary, but I think it’s ok if one burns off that energy. Could you please advise?

Hadacol’s Profile PhotoHerbert Henry Asquith
Entirely dependant on the individual and how they respond to the contents. I personally wouldn't recommend it because of the temporary sugar high and the dehydrating effects, but that's based on personal preference. If it were my athletes, I'd recommend that they try a run with and a run without, just to see how it feels.

Have you ever had to give up on a hobby or a passion of yours? What was it, and why? 🤔

Yeah, gigging/performing, work (both employment and volunteering), martial arts, novel writing, fell walking, cycling, outdoor ritual, the list goes on.
Mostly due to a combination of mobility restriction and heavy fatigue.

do you still work out? you haven't been posting on instagram lately about your complex daily workout routine. did the enthusiasm die after a week lol

what lmao my complex daily routine ?? you mean ?? cycling ??
and yeah, i workout at night now because of the baby going through leap five

How strong is your immune system? Do you get sick often?

When I was younger I did. Not like significantly younger just younger lol. Usually when one of my kids gets sick whatever it is ends up cycling through the entire family. But I haven't had an issue in awhile except for covid

What keeps you going forward?

I feel no desire to prove anyone anything. My hobbies just leave me unsatisfied and i feel bored pretty fast. Why do I even exist? Some time ago i was stilk curious of many things but it's long gone. Im just doing stuff that needs to be done to develop myself and when im tired i play video games / do sports / read books. But everything is boring. Getting mastery at subjects at uni feels pointless. Even if i graduate and get decent knowledge and get a good job, whats the point? It wont change how i feel about the world around me. It will mostly change onyl how other perceive me, which i dont really care about. I feel like i need help and i dont know where to ask for it. My family doesnt even try understanding me. There is no point to life unless you invent one. For me it's curiosity, I'm here and I want to find out what is this and what's the point. Most people pursue different common strategies to give meaning to their life, usually by been part of something larger than them: family, community, work, religion, etc. Those are all empty constructions, but they align well with our biological programing. We are a social animal and we crave been part of a pack that we can contribute to and that respects us and appreciate us. 3 years later a lot has changed for me - i've finished my masters degree in math and started working at big4 company as an assistant. I've also moved away from my family and I'm living with my fiancee. I'm not entirely sure why I was feeling so low 3 years ago - now I'm a happy person and I'd love to do so many things in life. Life is much more stressful now, work in big4 is tiring but nothing I can't manage. I've also broken my knee, my cruciate ligament is broken so I can't walk much, so I'd say that my overall situation is kind of worse but I'm much more optimistic than I was then. I think that getting masters degree in math was really tiring to my brain. I think it's important for us to just make our own goals. Nothing matters in life unless we make it so. I want to get my knee fixed and get back to doing sports regularly, mostly cycling on lifting weights at gym. I would also like to finish my postgraduate ACCA studies so I can better understand things at my work. Beside that I like playing board games with my fiancee and friends in free time or just play some Factorio on my own when I can't do anything with others. Im also looking forward for going on holiday after rehabilitation of my knee.

Is commuting by bike a legit option for you personally? How easy / hard is it to get around by bike where you live? 🚴‍♂️

TobbeAsks’s Profile PhotoTobbe
It really depends on my knees and the weather and the distance honestly. A 10-15 minute bike ride is doable for me to do daily. A 30 minute ride is too hard for me to do daily and causes my knees to hurt. Especially since there’s lots of wind here and it’s somehow always against you. 😅
I really thought about cycling 30 minutes to work instead of taking a 20 minute bus ride. I did it once. Never again. It hurt my knees so badly I wasn’t able to walk the next day lol.
I think that maybe if I had an e-bike, things would be different though!

I've worked from home since before the pandemic, but when I did work in an office it was too far to cycle from home and I went by train (to central London). My office was quite near to a mainline train station, but at a previous office I did sometimes use a folding bike for the last part of the journey, which I kept under my desk at work and brought home on the train each day.
My local area is great for cycling as there are loads of cycle paths, tracks and country parks and I try to go out on my bike at least once a week, just for fun.

Have you ever disagreed with your doctors diagnosis for you?

Rather, it's more been multiple cases of 'failure to diagnose'.
Many times I've had to persist on what was obvious to me (and others) . . . . and sadly, clinical tests proved me right
This included a 4 year delay in diagnosis of end stage chronic renal failure

What is the weirdest scar you have and how did you get it?

mahnoorshaykh’s Profile PhotoMahnoor.
A scar just under my left eyebrow from when I was cycling too fast, hit the curb and just flew off and fell 6 feet down. Bruises on my thighs from constantly bumping into the kitchen counters and my bed. And this bruise on my shin from where a hard ball hit me while playing cricket in childhood. Lmao I can go on forever.

How much do you clean your house, what do you do, and how clean is your house? I'd really like to live in a cleaner house.

I have a household of 5 and I'm a stay at home mom, so it's basically my job to keep the house clean and make sure our child doesn't die. I am cleaning constantly. There's at least 3 loads of dishes everyday, wiping down the counters, stove, island. Picking up garbage throughout the house, wiping down the sink and whatever in the bathroom. That's just normal everyday clean up. About once a week, I totally clean the bathroom, scrub the toilet and what not, vacuum every room and piece of furniture in the house. It's.. Very time consuming.
I keep a bit of a schedule for cleaning. Every morning I put away clean dishes, scrub the kitchen counters, tidy the living room, and sweep the kitchen and garage entrance/hallway (this is the main entrance we use). I wipe down one window (inside and out) or mirror per day cycling through the house throught the month. I wipe down the stove and oven three times per week. On Mondays I dust alternating downstairs and upstairs weekly and brush the dogs. On Tuesdays I clean the litter box, wipe down the kitchen sink, sweep the front door entry, and clean my personal bathroom. On Wednesdays I vacuum the living room and stairs and wipe down all the kitchen appliances. On Thursday I clean the common bathroom and mop one of the hard surface flooring rooms cycling through the house throughout the month (kitchen, entries, bathrooms). On alternate Fridays I bathe the dogs and once per month I groom them. Every Friday I wash the dog linens, clean the litterbox, and wipe down the sink. Floors are something I clean everyday. We have tile throughout the whole house so I sweep downstairs at least once a day and mop the kitchen. I sweep upstairs and vacuum rugs twice a week, then mop the whole house once a week. We have 2 adults, 2 kids, 2 cats and 2 dogs so the house isn't spotless but it's fairly clean most of the time.
Nearly everything in my house gets cleaned once a week. There are only two adults, no children and no animals, so I know my cleaning routine isn't the same as my friends who have children and/or pets. If there's something that's dirty before the day it usually gets cleaned, or if we've got guests coming, I'll do extra cleaning, but mostly it's once a week. Our house is clean and tidy and we like to keep it this way because we often have guest, and because it's just nicer to live in a clean and tidy place. It took some work to get it this way and to get into the habit of keeping it clean and tidy.
I sweep the hardwood floor twice a week (or whenever I feel like it's really dirty). I do dishes every night before going to bed. I try to pick up the clothes that my husband leaves on the floor daily. I run laundry once a week. I clean the bathroom once a week. I live in an apartment so it's easier. I also can't stand it when it's dusty/dirty. I've heard that it can be easier to make a schedule. Monday, clean the bathroom. Tuesday, clean the floor. Wednesday, clean the kitchen, etc. And stick with the schedule.

I know I don’t know you, Leigh but I just saw through mutuals what happened to you. I’m so terribly sorry 😢 It’s so tough and I know right now you’re in the shock and blur phase of everything but please know my heart is with you and your family. I just wanted to send you this ❤️

yeah, that's exactly it — shock and blur. i'm cycling between feeling numb then crying so much, back to numb and so on and so on. and this afternoon was so slow yet so fast at the same time. but just seeing my father's face when he answered the call from the doctor who told us that she passed is going to be seared into my brain.
thank you so much. ❤

how has your january been so far? 🌷

nurbzee’s Profile Photonurulhuda
Been emotionally unstable. Sometimes okay, sometimes falling apart. Sakitnya tu di sini, di dalam hatiku~ 😂 But yeah I've been talking to my friends. Mainly it's been about me feeling difficult to forgive or halalkan. I've never felt this way before. To the point I cursed and wished bad on a particular someone's life.
Maybe one day I'll calm down, when it doesn't hurt as much anymore. So that sums up my January. Just dwelling about my emotions. For now, in the month of January so far, I've preoccupied myself with gaming on my PS4 (but I finished the game in 3 days so that's out the window now) and going out cycling. Cycling has been fun. There's this feeling of... peace.
Thank u..

Hey dera I have a question on DID. Umm is it possible or common to switch rapidly? There’s a ton of YT videos of people switching on cam like 16 times or something. Not sure what to believe

Possible? Yes. Common? Definitely not.
Rapid switching is extremely disorienting and generally will only happen during a pretty bad dissociative episode. Rapid switching is also not usually a ton of alters just cycling through. I dont think anyone in a severe dissociative episode would be able to make a youtube video in the middle of it.

Cycling in the sunshine in nature or city trip.

Here is a question up for debate, you buy insurance to keep your car, motorcycle and scooter on the road. Should pay insurance if you ride a push bike on the road?

not only that
make them get registered and pay tax for taking up road space instead of cycle lanes which they don't use
they cycle on the footpath
make them do tests that show how a red light is for cyclists as well as motorists
and jail them for using mobile phones while cycling

Would you wear a helmet if it messed your hair?

Depends what it’s for!
I never wear a helmet when cycling or skating, but I’d always wear a helmet on a scooter or motor. I’d also wear a helmet with karting, climbing and other dangerous activities where a helmet is necessary.
So, when it’s really needed, I would wear a helmet, even if it would mess up my hair.

I did! There was a piece of road where both cars and bicycles come together. And this car was behind me, had no patience, started yelling at me and almost drove over me. I almost lost control of my bike as he was riding so close to me.

What’s the most awkward thing that happens to you on a regular basis?

iWillSpamYouAsk’s Profile PhotoSpam Ask
Falling. Due to nerve damage I’m not super stable. Having to shut down a conversation when I get upset or angry to avoid embarrassing myself with going through a ptsd attack.
I misplace my eyeglasses or phone. Have to ask for help at times finding them.
Forgetting words when speaking...but then there's a reason for that. Girl in HR comes to my office every single day 2-3x to bring me coffee and talks to me for what seems to be hours. I wouldn't have a problem with it but she goes into weird subjects about love is the universe and that love must be shared then goes into her fantasies about domination and loving pain. It just weirds me out. I work in IT so we have a lot of down time unless the network goes down which makes her stay in our office. It basically got to a point where I created a script to purposely knock a few printers off the network so I can get her out there office.
I must have a trustworthy face or maybe I walk in a determined way or something but... I get asked for directions all the time and I feel like I must help even though I am very awkward when interacting with strangers. And this also happens to me in places where I'm a tourist myself and it gets doubly awkward.
I live in a high rise apartment building on the top floor. There is a blonde girl around my age (mid 20s) who lives 4 floors below me. She is absolutely incredible and I have a freakin huge crush on her. I make her laugh every time I see her, and we greet eachother with a smile and a "hey it's my favorite stranger" greeting. I am super flirty and she sends it right back. But every single time she gets off the elevator I get super withdrawn and always fumble my words. "Oh have you a day... have a... great? Yea see ya" it's excruciating. I'm never fumble-worded with people, it's ONLY HER. And it happens almost every single day. The worst is, since we live so high up, the elevator rides are long (elevator is slow as hell too). So we get to have these nice little conversations, only to be ruined by my inability to not be awkward while saying goodbye.
I'm a big guy. When I go to the gym, I want to get I there, work out without making a fuss and go home again. Yet every gym I've been to, staff gravitate to me like flies round shit. I don't want to be their friend or their pet project, and when I'm running or cycling and sweating my ass off I don't want to chat, I just want to be left alone and never be seen again and forever disappear from the face of the Earth.
One time I went on a run with one of my neighbors, she was widowed [young, unforseen health issue] and on the way back the neighbor offered us a bottle of wine "she had sitting around for a long long time". The girl I was running was trying to hold back laughter and took the bottle of wine. Turns out it was a bottle of wine from her wedding, she knew this because of the custom "Table #" labeling. . .She had literally thrown the bottle into the dump behind the complex that very morning.

What can you do well with your non-dominant hand?

dodoBluz’s Profile PhotoNo one from nowhere
I can do one handed cycling better with my left hand (non-dominant) than with my right hand.
When I cut my food, I have my fork in my left hand, so I eat with my left hand without any problems. When I don’t need a knife (with pasta dishes for example) I automatically use my right hand 😂

What’s the best place to go to, when you want to be alone and enjoy solitude?

leahtvergara’s Profile Photo✿ ℓεαɦ ʚϊɞ
Anywhere on a motorcycle.
I'd normally go to the beach by myself and look at the waves to relax.
Anywhere I want. And I'd tell everyone to stay the fuck away from me.
I'm the male version of you, and the only difference is that I don't have pets. I live completely alone and at times go without human communication for weeks or even months. I'm fine like this. I actually feel very annoyed when I'm with people. Most of them have nothing much to discuss, except superficial crap about some tv show, restaurant or product. It's almost as if people hang out with each other as part of a ritual, or for the fear of being alone. In short, most people I have ever known have been extremely fake, selfish, hurtful and insensitive, but think of themselves as some divine angels who have graced the earth. I have no interest in dating either. Most women I meet come across as no different - immature, selfish and superficial. I have far more genuine interactions with total strangers when I'm travelling in a new place, but that hasn't been possible for the past year. I enjoy running and cycling, and usually cycle solo a few hundred miles each week. My bike makes me feel much better than being with people and having forced/fake interactions and pretending to care about them. Almost everyone seems like they're full of shit, and I can look through them. They think they're putting up a good facade, but honestly it just looks pathetic. I always thought I wanted a husband and kids but dating just annoys me. Having to actually entertain someone or go out all the time and meet their friends and always being busy just isn't me. It's draining and every time I go out I wish I was home or if someone comes over I want them to leave and they never get the hint. I enjoy just doing my own thing. I have very few friends and I only like chatting over text or phone when I have the option to hang up. I can't stand seeing them in person when I can't just leave when I'm done or having them over and having to be drained by them. My friends have become super annoyed that I never invite them over (maybe just 2x a year). As happy as I am just being alone with my cat and dog, I worry that it's not normal or healthy? Am I missing out on life? Should I be forcing myself to date or get out more? I worry that I'm enjoying my life so much now being alone that I'll get to a point where I wish I met someone and had kids but I'm 34f now and just have no desire for companionship outside my pets.

How old were you when you learned how to ride a bike?

leahtvergara’s Profile Photo✿ ℓεαɦ ʚϊɞ
I was like...8 years old. I had a bike with training wheels for forever. I was really wanting to learn how to be on two wheels. But my parents wouldn't teach me. IDK why, if they didn't have time or what. So my best friend at the time listened to me complain about it. She knew how to ride a bike so I had my dad bring my bike to her house and SHE taught me how to ride. I learned very quickly and showed everyone that night at my house.
No clue. I don't remember ever learning how to ride a bike, but I do remember riding a bike as early as kindergarten.. and not just riding down the street, but I have a vivid memory of riding through ND farmland and being freaked out by a herd of bulls (verified by my siblings as true). We only lived there for kindergarten & first grade. I also remember riding down a really muddy hill.
I was 8 or 9. I had a red, pink, and white bike that I was super proud of. It took me awhile to learn how to ride, but I got it eventually. I hurt myself constantly, because I'm clumsy and I liked going really fast. I remember always having blisters from the hand grips. After I pitched myself off my bike for the 100th time my parents banned me from riding too far from the house.
I was 20. One of my friends, who I met while studying abroad, thought that that was a proper tragedy. So, the day after we met, he taught me to ride a bike. It was pretty grueling, but he was really supportive. I got the hang of it in a little less than a week, and he had me bike everyday thereafter for months to gain some muscle memory. My biking skills were admittedly poor, but that’s how I got my start.
I think I was around the age of 4 or 5 when I learned to ride a two-wheel bike. My grandmother taught me by holding onto the back as I learned to keep my balance and then she'd gradually let go for longer amounts of time. From what I recall it was a lot of fun. I think I was around 8-10 years old? My dad took my brother and I to the park and taught us at the same time. It was awesome! It was the classic "dad's holding on to the back of the bike so you're not scared to fall, and then you look back and dad's not holding on anymore and you're riding all by yourself!" scenario. I think it's one of my favorite childhood memories.
I was 19, did it during the summer before my second year of uni. It was rewarding to tackle something new and overcome it, and it was fun spending summer evenings practising cycling round the neighbourhood with my mum. She doesn’t bike any more so that was a one-off experience.
Confession: I've never actually learned to ride a bike, I'm 21 now. Actually, I have ridden a bike successfully before and could prob figure it out in minutes...but my family were never bike riders. I just didn't grow up in that environment, although in my neighborhood bikes are a constant.

How much self-control do you have with things that you know are bad for you, but tend to indulge in?

avadroitII’s Profile PhotoAva Banana
Probably above average, but not excellent. Today a work colleague brought in ten boxes of chocolate (to share around 20 people) and I’m happy that I ate none of it, while not judging those who did.
After this I went jogging; did eat a whole bag of biscuits but I’d planned to do that as it fits in with my ethos of ‘moderation in all things, including moderation’.
Now I’ve started cycling again, I am not being very strict with my diet because exercise is what it’s all about and I have the discipline that, even though it’s rarely if ever any fun, I am still going.

Which activities or hobbies make you lose track of time?

♨️🙃 Hi. Good Afternoon / Evening - How are you I hope extraordinary. 1. Sleeping= It can not subtract (fail) so it is docile way I do it by rest. 2. Cook= I love this ingenuity; 8 years ago I challenged myself preparing various (local) dishes. Sometimes I was unsuccessful, however it encouraged me to continue in the world of gastronomy. 3. Physical activity= Aerobic exercise (jogging - walking - running - recreational cycling) 4. Volunteer= In the last few weeks I have started with this activity. Other short & long-term activities= I would love to paint- draw- write- read- play golf- tennis- hike- river raft- spa day- do puzzles- plan vacations- watch netflix- shop. 🏪💈By the way I want to spend a wonderful Sunday and start of phenomenal week + full of prosperity😀💫

What was your opinion on PE in school? Was there a favorite and least favorite thing that you did during PE? Why those? 🏃‍♀️🏈🏸🤽‍♂️⚽️

🥅 I hated P.E in school.
🏃🏽‍♀️ My most hated things were “fun runs”, an oxymoronic phrase if ever there was one.
🥎 My second-to-most hated thing was softball, as I once got knocked out by a ball, which as it turned out wasn’t at all soft.
🏑 Then anything outside in cold or wet weather, shin-battering, knuckle-freezing hockey in particular.
🦯 My second best/favourite thing was javelin. The teachers told me I’d “found my sport” but then said they wouldn’t be doing it again, so that was that.
🚴‍♀️ My most favourite activity was cycling. We didn’t actually do cycling, but for my last year of school I didn’t bother signing up to the P.E. register so my name was never called out, and I took the opportunity to cycle out of school instead, often going to visit a friend in hospital.
