This is a bit alarming as learned from NextDoor (a community based forum). A woman in an apartment posted a video of a man walking in the common hallway. He was carrying a laundry basket, then stopped at her door touching/handling some sort of sign she had on/near her door. He then tried to turn the door handle. When she yelled at him (through the door) to go away, he left. The management told her he was not a resident.

Apparently, this is a tactic of thieves. The laundry basket makes it appear the thief belongs in the building/area. If the thief does steal something, he can put it in the basket (covered with a towel or cloth) and walk away unnoticed. Here is the eerie part…the thief will target a door with any sort of feminine decorations. He is figuring there might be a woman living alone and would be an easy target for his malicious intent.

One can sometimes tell by the outside of an apt building where the 1 bedroom units are. Door decoration + 1 bedroom = high chance of solo woman. Before seeing that posting, I would not have necessarily put those elements together (because I don’t have criminal intent).

an oasis in the middle of the city. I love abandoned factory premises and attics with brick walls. Add a heating. A lot of plants, stоlen, bought on sale or taken out of pity - it's very good if there is a large window. No curtains. (possibly blinds if the windows are low). Furniture - with a history, from a flea market (a library chest with a thousand drawers) or made of pipes and wooden boxes, maybe from pallets. Something inexpensive from Ikea. Somethin blue -maybe a door or one of the walls. Floor: if wooden, then there are no carpets, but most often there is concrete and you can't do without a carpet here. And it should be fluffy and blue!

A couple of plaid blankets on the bed, some books and a suitcase under it. Small items are organized in cans and free wine boxes. Phosphorous constellations are painted above the bed and several models of planets are hanging.
