Does jealously have value in driving humans to improve themselves or is it a purely negative emotion?

No!
> Personally, I believe jealousy is a sin. Jealousy breeds suspicion, doubt, and mistrust. Jealousy can be so destructive both spiritually, emotionally, and relationally. In fact, it can literally lead one to murder.
> James 4:2 - You lust and do not have, so you commit murder. And you are envious and cannot obtain, so you fight and quarrel.

How do you choose to get around? 🚗🚲🚶🚄

TobbeAsks’s Profile PhotoTobbe
Hi Tobbe. How I get around depends upon what I am trying to accomplish. If I am writing a poem or composing music, I prefer to get around using my imagination and creativity; however, if I am in the mood to exercise or view nature, I prefer to walk. Driving is my last resort and it is something I enjoyed when I was a young man, but now in the autumn of my life, I drive my car only when absolutely necessary. Luckily, I live in a small city with spectacular ocean views where 90% of life's necessities are within walking distance from my home.
* note: photo is a boardwalk located amongst the mangroves. It is one of my favorite places to walk and explore with my dog princess.

Have you splashed someone with water from a puddle while driving your car? Or maybe you got splashed by driving into a puddle while you were walking on the sidewalk or by the side of the road
When I was driving my own car, I never splashed anyone with water from a puddle, but once when I was walking along the sidewalk, a driver splashed me while driving into a puddle

You moved from a big city to a small town. What were your circumstances, and how'd you adjust?

Because I saw myself becoming the stereotypical parisian. I was stressed, angry, overworked, insomniac, and a social alcoholic. One day i was walking down the stairs in a busy metro station and a guy (suit, tie,€50 haircut) growled at me because i was in his way. Not grumbled, growled. Like a dog. I decided i didn't want to become this man. A month later i was packing up.
I'm currently living in Paris, renting a pretty huge apartment in the 15eme with 2 roommates, but I'll be moving soon into a new apartment I bought myself in banlieue. If given the opportunity I'd have preferred staying in Paris but it's way too expensive to buy anything here (like 10k€/sqm...).
I was born in the suburbs of Paris, childhood was cool but once you reach puberty and go to high-school, you'll start to see that you have a lot of stuff that you can do (bars, activities,...) you also have to deal with the reality that you'll most likely won't be able to live close to your work, and that means a mean travel time of 1h morning and then 1h evening, meaning you'll end up doing little of your free time if you account for doing groceries and food (which felt important to me, I wanted to avoid takeout and stuff like that as much as possible)
That plus the fact that the comute is pretty much lost time, I wasn't doing anything useful in the train or by driving the car, and couldn't go to work by bike which would have alleviated some of the downsides cause at least I would be getting some activity.
I've spent my entire life moving among different rural suburban areas. I was born in Acton, CA, moved to Flagstaff, AZ, had spent a couple years in rural Ohio, and currently live in a town about an hour outside of Pittsburgh, PA. I've never spent longer than a couple hotel nights in a major city despite visiting many as a kid. Now that I'm less than a year away from graduating college, I'd really like some honest insight.
Because the truth is I'm completely tired of driving 25 minutes to reach a restaurant, store, or anything more exciting than a gas station. I'm also tired of run-away, aggressive pets, hostile people, ignorance, bug infestations, and the overall subtle hostility that living out here is. For almost half a decade now I've been nurturing this idea of living in an apartment somewhere deep inside a city. To be able to walk anywhere in a two two mile radius and find things, even if not necessarily everything, I'd want, and to have the ability to train ride to the locations farther away. All the while being surrounded by the pinnacle of human civilization; it honestly sounds like a dream.
So to me moving out of the parisian ambiance was a goal that I don't regret achieving one bit, but this is mostly true to my needs and I can see why some people would want to live there, it was just not for me.

2023 what crime should get more punishment

Drink driving and particularly any reckless driving that causes injury.
Drink drivers should be banned from driving on their first offense. Also, using a mobile phone while driving should be an instant ban. People know that it's wrong before they do it so it's not right that someone should be given a second chance.

What's your biggest fear? When did you develop this specific fear? * - And how do you usually deal with it if and when you come in contact with it?*

M1ssSemy’s Profile PhotoStar. i
I have two that are basically equal, in terms of fear level, and they are kinda in the same category… Bridges and tunnels. They legitimately terrify me. I hate looking at them, I hate being in, on, or around them, I just hate everything about them. 😬
As for when I developed the fear, I have absolutely no clue. Cause like, I remember hating them as a very young child, as well. I also have no idea what specifically terrifies me about them. Like, I’m not afraid of heights, I’m not afraid of them like, collapsing or anything, or at least not that I’m consciously aware of. So it’s really hard to say. The only thing I can think when it comes to tunnels is that they might be that they feel mildly claustrophobic… 🤔
Unfortunately though, I cannot avoid them. I have to drive over bridges, and when I go to the city, I’m going through tunnels and such as well. 😅
So, when I do have to come in contact with them, if I’m in the car and not driving, I just look down at my lap, or close my eyes and try to forget where I am. Or if I am driving, I just try to tell myself that it’ll be over soon, and try not to have a panic attack. 🙈😂

" "Licence vs. License—Spelling Rules
License is both a noun and a verb in the United States.
If you live in any other English-speaking country, you will spell it licence when you use it as a noun and license when you use it as a verb." "
(above purely for information! - as well as respecting the English language [which americanes are hell-bent in destroying] it is useful in differentiating between noun and verb!)

YES !
Everyone in UK has a driving licence, at least 'provisional'
Unless they are delinquent !
(LOL ~ there are other circumstances for lacking!)
Even my Viki, who is Russian , has a UK driving licence !
Takes about 2 minutes to apply ~ a little longer if you're not a Brit ; about 2 weeks to arrive in the post.
Passing your test is an entirely different matter.
If you have a good mentor & are switched on ; a parent or similar can teach you the basics; clutch-control etc. (only american'ts & idiots drive 'automatics')
Then around 6 professional lessons (you can pass your theory while doing these) then pass your test, but need to apply for your test well in advance, because UK gov. are baffoons & 'slow' - like most.
If you pass your test in an 'automatic' (transmission) ~ your licence won't permit you to drive a proper car !
My latest BMW , although 'manual' (transmission) has too much auto stuff on it ~ such as no handbrake as such . . . . it is driving me nuts ; takes all the pleasure out of driving . . .
In UK , a driving licence is essential, unless you want to carry your passport everywhere . You see , in BRIT-land , it is a human right not to have to carry I.D. ~ so , if you LOOK under 25 , you need either a driving licence or passport if you have to prove you're over 18 ! (for adult indulgences!) . Though you can get a licence @ 16 , but not drive a car until you are 17 . . . .

What do you do to be more environmentally friendly? ♻️🌍🌿

TobbeAsks’s Profile PhotoTobbe
I never drive if I can walk or cycle instead. I take public transport instead of driving if it is feasible.
I recycle everything I can, compost my kitchen and garden waste, and take things like metal, batteries, electricals etc to the council recycling center.
I never throw anything away if I can mend it (which I'm quite good at), or re-use it in some way, or give it away to someone else who can use it.
I buy second hand (or from Freecycle donation) if I can.
I collect rain water for the garden. I have thought about using it to flush my downstairs toilet but I'm not sure that's practical. I grow my own fruit and veg, but I'd like more room for that.
I use energy-efficient lights and appliances where I can, and monitor my energy usage carefully.
I don't have kids - the number one worst thing you can do for the environment is to increase the population size and generate another 80 years of waste, consumption, energy use and pollution.
Pretty much everything above saves me money, as well as the environment.

What is your favorite part of Christmas season?

I mean… I love pretty much everything about the Christmas season. Getting to be with people I love most would have to be the best part. It’s one of the rare times I get to see my extended family, like my cousins and such. ☺️
But, I love the music, the amount of joy I get from gift giving, the snow (more so the look of it, than actually driving in it 😅), the delicious food, all the family traditions I have, the decorations, etc… 🥰

Do you like misty mornings?

Misty I'm fine with... but foggy like this morning, god no!
I hated driving to work this morning! Visibility was only 5-10 metres! So I was very on edge.. only upside was due to the weather, no one really came into work! So I just got on with stuff xD

Should I tell my friend that their relationship drama is of no interest to me? Normally I am a person can vent to, I’m always here to listen but this person talks about it daily in an aggressive and tiring way, it’s driving me nuts.

you're allowed to set boundaries with your friends. if they're stressing you out too much or exhausting you, then you have every right to limit your communication with them (whether that's temporarily or permanently).

Crezi că până la sfârșitul anului vei reușit ce ți-ai propus la începutul lui 2022?

I wanted to start driving lessons this year but my provisional licence is taking forever to come as I had to declare a health thing or two. There's also a current wait of like six months for an instructor so sadly, I won't be doing that until next year. It's a tad disappointing but at least I started the process. There is a few things I wanted to do this year that I've done so I'm still satisfied that there has been more going forwards than back!

This specific post is driving me crazy. I know you’re suppose to wash each limb thrice, during ablution and according to my knowledge, when you’re performing ablution you need to make sure water passes by, everywhere. Precisely why you can’t have nail paint on cause the water then can not go over the nail and like I wear a ring and a bracelet at all times and water needs to pass by those specific areas as well but here the scholar says, you can’t really have the tap open and let’s say, run your arm under it, a couple times cause if you end up washing any part more than thrice, you’re transgressing the sunnah of ablution? What?
You can’t even wash your feet properly with just a scoop of water. A scoop of water isn’t enough and like you can’t keep em under the tap of running water? 🥲 Cause you might end up washing the damn foot more than thrice and it isn’t permissible? God why do people keep complicating things ouff

What do you hate the most when you’re driving?

Other drivers. Or more specifically, the kind of assholes that speed up to get around you just to make a turn or just to come to a stop. It’s like congrats, you were in a rush to end up in the exact same fucking spot you would’ve been if you just stayed where you were. Dickhead. Or the other assholes that speed up so you can’t merge. Or the assholes that speed up to get around you then slow down and then speed up when you try and overtake them, like wut? Every time I encounter one it has me wishing they’d die in a car fire (not seriously but seriously)

is it hard being a single mother? do you get external help from family members?

Bein a mom isn't hard at Ll but doing it 24/7 without an actual break is driving me crazy.
The dad finally got his place ready so he'll take the baby today and keep him for the whole week 😍

What do I do when I find struggles were not worth the results?

AhmadBakheitMndo’s Profile Photo∆HMED
That’s like you’re asking:
“What do I do when I drive 4 hours only to reach a destination I didn’t want to be in the first place?”
You can either stop your car, give up, and feel awful about wasting your time OR instead of wasting more time, you open google maps, add the correct location and start driving to right place. Yes, you can take a break before driving again by mentally preparing yourself that you’re about to spend some more hours driving to the correct place, but does staying there forever and cursing the situation would be any good? Will it get you better results? No, right?
So to answer your question, I’ll feel bad for a few moments that the results weren’t worth it, but after feeling sorry for myself for like 15-30 minutes, i’ll start focusing on how I can achieve better results. :p Because if there’s anything that’s constant in this life, it’s our struggles. And I have a firm belief that a failed struggle only prepares you for a successful one!

What is your favourite "that definitely happened" story that someone has told you? (a story that is almost 100% guaranteed to be untrue or grossly misrepresented)

DovahMonah’s Profile PhotoDovahMonah
I can't think of an example that perfectly fits that definition! What came to mind was a certain "Brucey the bus driver" who was a guide during a waterfall tour we went to in Australia. The intern who was with him was like "He uses a different name for each tour" and I honestly believe him lol
Since "Brucey" was QUITE the character, he had a "n!pple scale" from 1-10 describing how cold the water was gonna be, warned the women of dive instructors cause "they could become pregnant just by looking at them" and made a group of Filipino tourists very confused by stopping the bus next to them, waving very enthusiastically and then driving off again 😂
(This isn't a picture from that specific tour but from a hike in the blue mountains, here overlooking the rock formation "The three sisters") 🏞

Because sometimes it's hard to see the forest for the trees. We're deep into something and are inclined to give in to illusions about people or situations just foolishly hoping for the best turnout when we are actually close to driving ourselves crazy with things that we naively assume and hope for. Sometimes we need someone looking from the outside on our life telling us: "Stop this bullsh*t. It's not your place. It's not your person. Stop hurting yourself for something that doesn't even consider your thoughts and feelings."
And when everything is over you can see it for yourself and it's like a fog finally lifting the sight in front of you. And suddenly you feel peaceful and exhausted at the same time. Thinking, how the hell you managed to survive that?

Mom doesn’t drive me to hang with friends because she is always super busy but during the time she could be driving me she always ends up just being on Facebook and not doing any of the things she says she has to do. Am I ok to upset and a little angry about this?

Of course you're allowed to be upset about it! Your mother clearly doesn't care that you want to go hang out with friends. A mother should always be there for her children. I'm so sorry she's acting this way.

What do you think future cars will look like? What abilities they'll have? Like.. What's that one thing you'd expect to see in the future? 🛫🚘

M1ssSemy’s Profile PhotoStar. i
Honestly, most things that come to mind when it comes to future car innovation are basically just scams. Take self driving for example, the development has essentially stalled cause AI simply has a hard time dealing with all the variables that comes with driving in the real world. Tram tracks, bollards and general prediction of dangers are a few of many things that self driving cars struggle with. Elon Musk has said year after year that the technology is getting closer but it hasn't.
Also, don't get me started on flying cars. Everyone who'd buy one of those would essentially have to get a pilot license, cause in the air you have to deal with all of the aspects that come with flying such as wind etc. They'd also be hazarous since you'd essentially have thousands of vehicles in the air that could crash down anywhere at any time. Not only that but they'd also be detrimental to people's mental health since they'd make so much noise. You think an airplane is bad? Imagine thousands of them flying at less than half the alltitude 🥴

Do you prefer the city or the country?

For example, i’ve always loved the city. I lived in a medium sized midwestern city for a couple years before having to move. I’m not sure if it’s the lights, the constant stimulation, always having something to do or a new restaurant to try but I find I thrive in busier environments. I can also see how larger cities can be over stimulating for people with ADHD. I have lived in quite rural areas most of my life, but did move to a city apartment for a couple of years, with my then girlfriend. I am really glad I moved back to a small village. Having encredible nature just outside my door is priceless to me, and walking 4 kilometers twice a day to and from work is really good for both my mental and physical health.
I definitely prefer cities. I love being walking distance from most things I need on a regular basis. Running out to get whatever I inevitably forgot feels much less invasive when I just have to walk a block or two. I like the country too, though. Can’t stand suburbia. I'd say, pick a side.
I prefer the city. My mother recently moved to the country and I get bored when I visit her. I live in big city and I feel exactly the same as you, there's always something new to see, something new to try and there's so many different people, it's kinda exciting.
I currently live in a rural part of the US and it sucks. I used to live in the city and it was so much better than living rurally. In a city you are closer to everyone and everything. It takes me over 30 minutes of driving just to go to the grocery where it would have taken be 20 minutes total to get groceries where used to live. Everything is just inconvenient and unnecessary far away.
There is a popular opinion that rural people are nicer than city people. People who live around where I do are not very good people. The people just seem to be angry at anything new. There is very much a NIMBY attitude. While people who live in cities are much nicer than the people where I live. It is also pretty boring to live rurally. There isn't much to do in terms of events and stuff. Life hasn't changed a lot since quarantine started because there wasn't much to go to in the first place. I imagine that's why people get addicted to Fox News, because there is nothing to do besides to watch TV. No one is "finding themselves" or are "enlightened" here. Just a bunch of old and mean people.
Well I love the activity in the city. I love that you can visit and do so many things in a short span on time. I've had nights that felt like months, and I could just go back home and sleep it off. It's great. And it's good for people watching and meeting new people. But I hate the artificiality and pretentiousness of how people compete over things that were never important.
