Is there a hobby or interest that you've always wanted to get into but haven't? Or one that you used to do but don't now?

DovahMonah’s Profile PhotoDovahMonah
I used to be really into electronics and into programming computers for fun. Like properly obsessed. But then I got a job doing both of those things and I stopped doing them as a hobby. I no longer do the electronics stuff for work, just the programming, so I thought maybe I'd give the electronics another go. Things have moved on a bit in recent years so I thought I'd learn a bit more about microcontrollers (tiny computers that you can program to control physical devices through an input/output interface and connect to sensors, switches, lights, motors etc). I just bought myself a Raspberry Pi Pico W (WiFi version) which should arrive tomorrow. My first project is to get one of my houseplants to detect when it's soil is dry and to email me when it needs watering.

Are cheap guitars worth the money why or why not?

It depends on the features, components and build quality. Where the guitar is made can also make a huge difference in its price. Comparable guitars from the US or Japan will usually cost more than those made in S. Korea, Indonesia, Mexico or China. With bigger companies, the brand itself doesn't say much. You have to look at the specific line or series. Sometimes, it's better to buy an inexpensive or used model and make upgrades or modify it to your taste. If it is built well but it has a cheap bridge, tremolo, pickups, tuners, electronics, fret wire, etc., you could change any of these items with better components. The aftermarket is huge and you have many options. The main thing is that it sounds good to your ears and it inspires you to play.

Which you think is better, electrical engineer or computer science major, which contribute the most?

I think both professions offer great opportunities, so it really depends upon what type of work you enjoy. If you like software and programming then computer science. However, if you prefer hardware and electronics, then electrical engineering.

Какое хобби ты считаешь самым скучным, которым бы ты не смог никогда увлечься? What do you think is the most boring hobby that you could never get into?

😂😂😂 It’s a six seat twin leather set with hydraulic recline, more electronics than the whole rest of your house and automatically dimming reading lights 😂😂😂😂 You can dial in Spotify for music, it has its own sound system, activate all you TV functions, charge you phone or iPad and more 😂🤗

Daaaaang! OK, yeah, I can understand why that costs more than a standard sofa that just does sofa things 😂

Why did you ask for social security money if you make so much?

1.) even making good money, having this many kids and living the lifestyle we want is not cheap. You’re acting like $100k is a lot of money. It’s really not.
2.) it’s literally money the kids are entitled to. It’s literally meant to support kids with a deceased parent. Why would I not want the kids to have what’s theirs?
3.) looking at the future, it can help pay for their vehicles, electronics, sports, etc. imagine being 16 and having a car budget of $996 per month. It’s a blessing.

DAE find thunder and lightning storms oddly comforting?

I found them very comfortable when I lived at a house with no trees. Now I'm out at the country with 100 or so trees that are tall enough to hit my house if they were to fall. Also my dogs freak the hell out. But other than that they're relaxing :) mostly the rain
They can be comforting, but at the same time they are awesome (as in they fill me with awe). I was in Yosemite once, and it started to storm right above me and my group. There was lightning striking everywhere around us, so we got in our car and drove back to camp. There were waterfalls of rain everywhere. There was an especially large one right where we were climbing less than an hour ago. Totally surreal and made me love nature's power.
I love storms. When I was young my dad and sister and I would sit out on the porch swing and just enjoy the rain and cool misty breeze (the porch was walled on three sides, so very rarely did it actually rain onto the porch). I do, in fact every night I sleep through one every night. I have an app on my Ipad which sounds like rain and thunder, so I can sleep and drown out the noise from outside since I live on a busy corner in Manhattan. I dont know what I'd do without it.
There's a big storm here in the Philippines right now. I usually love rainy days spent indoors, usually curled up with a book and a hamburger on my chest. But this time I'm mostly worried :( please send your well wishes to us tonight.
I love storms. It remembers me that this planet is alive, and most of the time it does not give a shit about us. If we didn't have houses and sewers and all this technology we would be on a very bad situation. However, we are the pinnacle of sentient life on this planet. We have achieved the ability to just relax and contemplate the wonder humankind is.
Yes. For some reason, I love knowing that it's hell outside but I'm perfectly safe inside. I'm not quite sure why.
Yes, unless I'm outside or trying to do something having to with electronics and the power goes out. I miss having a covered porch and being able to chill with a beer and grill food while it's storming.
Currently thundering and drizzling here, and can confirm... very soothing. It's the pitter-patter light taps that the rain droplets sound as they hit the surface of the roof/trees/road that really gets me.
I always wondered why that is. I love sleeping during the rain. Id probably sleep outside if it was screened in and there was a comfy bed there. But some people get super freaked out if it's thundering and stuff.

What was your fave subject during your uni days?

When I was studying engineering I enjoyed Physics, Digital Electronics, Microprocessor theory and Networking (routers and switches). Designing, configuring and troubleshooting networks is what I enjoyed most in my career as a Network Engineer.
While studying Music at Berklee College I enjoyed playing in ensembles, harmonic theory, counterpoint, and conducting. As a musician, I enjoy playing my guitars and performing live with bands.

Do you have a degree? If yes, what determined you to study that? If not, would like to study for one? Which one? 📚

screams6’s Profile PhotoAndreea ♡
I did Physics. It's a good all-round science subject if you don't really know what you want to do when you finish, which I didn't. I mostly chose the practical options (optics, electronics, Atmospherics) rather than the theoretical ones (quantum mechanics, particle physics, relativity) when I had a choice.

If you were teleported in a time where there were no technological advancements in electronics, times of 1500-1600 and before. Will you be able to survive, and actually enjoy life?

PulkitSharma62’s Profile PhotoJustice
Definitely, not. You know those kind of people who are book smart but hopeless at being street smart? Yeah, that's me. I think I'd trip over my feet, fall into a large mountain of cow dung, roll down a forested hill, smack my face right up a wild boar's butt and die in the midst of a stampede by a herd of elephants. Nuh uh, I rather live inn today's era, thank you very much 😂

PulkitSharma62’s Profile PhotoJustice
Hmm, another thought provoking question. Well, I would love to say that I would be happy without all these technological advances that we have today, but I don't think I would be. We have cars, electricity, phones, laptops, etc that we take for granted. Maybe I would survive but it would be quite an adjustment.

How often do you replace your phone/other electronics? Do you like to collect them, or do you prefer to keep the same device for years?

YaoiMasterSadist’s Profile PhotoShenzo ❤ Sho ~
I'm not gonna buy a new one until its on its death bed 😹 I buy a new one if I really NEED to hehe. As for phone, I use two; one since 3 years ago and another since last year

“I’m never bored” could you tell us about your secret ingredients?

Reading, writing, studying, occasional painting, some gaming (mostly modding), tinkering with electronics, very light programming (more of a hobby), building and maintaining PCs, mediating, hiking, working out, skiing, playing guitar, jamming with friends, collaborating with other artists (when my schedule allows), camping and outdoor activities, sh!tposting / memeing, esoteric pursuits and study, some woodworking, watching movies, charting market movements and analyzing business / investment opportunities, etc. How anyone has the bloody time to be "bored" is beyond me... ;-)

Do you trust mechanics or have you been burned a couple times?

More than a couple of times. These young guys do not know jack about mechanics i.e. fuel injection, combustion engines, computer electronics, transmissions, etc. Hell, they can barely change the oil or repair a flat tire without screwing something up. That is why a repair that should cost $200.00 often costs over $1,500.00 because these inexperienced mechanics believe that the way to troubleshoot a problem is to keep replacing components until the vehicle starts operating properly and the excessive cost of labor and parts is passed directly on to you, the consumer.
Luckily my friend is a master mechanic who has been working on automobiles for over 50 years and can literally repair anything and he only charges me for parts and labor directly related to the actual failure which is completely opposite of what the thief's at the local car dealerships do.

Have you ever had an unexplainable experience with the paranormal/ghosts? 🎃 👻 🦇 💀 👍 🙃

redoasis2017’s Profile Photo★ ☮ ♫ tēຖค¢i໐นŞ t໐๓๓คฯ™ ▩ ♚ ☻
I saw a very old fashioned man in an old church and he vanished before my eyes. I found out the manor outside the church was used to hold German prisoners of war.
I once ate Asian food that would keep reappearing in the night…👻 Too many to list. Inexplicable noises, visible orbs, electronics and lights going on and off all by themselves, fully charged batteries in electronics suddenly draining, an old clock that hadn't worked in years that suddenly started working immediately after my dad died. The most dramatic happened in historic Savannah, GA. I got a coffee at local coffee house. A very old woman with an antique cane glared at me, shaking her cane. I poured some cream in my coffee, looked back up and she was gone. Only a few seconds elapsed. I looked around the shop, looked outside. No one that age could get far. She simply vanished.
I had one short experience with some form of unexplained phenomena, when I was about 6 or 7. At the time, my parents, my sister and I were living at a farmhouse and one evening, I saw what looked like two anthropomorphic beings that looked to be about 6 feet tall, standing in a clearing beyond our front yard and it looked like they were covered head to toe in fire, and yet the didn't seem to burn anything. They were there for only a few seconds and then they were gone.

Oh that’s cool! Even we did all that on bread board, although electronics part is not my major subject, but logic part is :)

PulkitSharma62’s Profile PhotoJustice
Although I studied Electronic Engineering, which included both analog and digital, it is also valuable to understand digital logic as a Software Engineer or a Network Engineer. Before retiring, I worked as a Network Engineer for 40 years. During that time I had to learn various systems i.e. routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, network management, network analyzers, modems, multiplexers, etc. These systems all had operating systems and a user interface that required some understanding of digital logic. After all, if I am taking a statistical reading of network performance or perhaps configuring an access list on a Cisco router or creating a rule within my firewall, I must understand digital logic to comprehend how the variables and instructions I am coding affect the input/output and the intended result/behavior.

What is the the worst meal you've been served as guest in somebody's house?

Was being driven home from a pub by a drunk driver. I had no choice, I was 19 and in rural Ireland where you would otherwise be stranded. Plus the group I was with were adamant we had to get in this guy's car. Anyway, he was speeding, we hit a baby hare on the road and he stopped the car. I jumped out to inspect what we just hit. Asked my now ex to kill the baby hare as it was injured beyond repair and it was just suffering. He stamped on its head but decided he wanted to take it home and use its fur for a project. He was very out doorsy and this wasn't that strange to me at the time. My aunt gave my siblings and I sandwiches when we were forced to visit. Sandwiches with moldy bread, and then tried to tell us it was fine. I basically had to put my foot down and say no, we aren’t going to eat this.
The house was terrifying... like it had clearly been cleaned up a bit but they just stuffed all the mess elsewhere. She had pill bottles out for all sorts of different prescription medications just left out in different rooms. She had new and expensive appliances and luxury electronics all over the place despite not having a job. She had lawsuits for dummy’s books all over because she was trying to prop up a bunch of frivolous lawsuits against the public schools who had kicked out her terrifying and violently disruptive children. The kids rooms looked like rats nests with food trash everywhere. We left as soon as we could and I make a point not to talk to them anymore because of the vortex of nonsense they bring with them. The worst part? When she does end up coming to family events and get togethers she has a ton of dietary restrictions that rotate periodically. (And she just expects us to know because she posts about it on Facebook) and she turns any meal into an act of walking on eggshells. Cold peach soup. I was a kid and we were visiting family friends, and they wouldn’t let me or my sister leave the table until we ate the soup. My sister threw a tantrum, I just sat there until it was time to go home. Our parents got us fast food on the way home (which was awesome but I’d still have rather they stuck up for us with the friends and let us politely leave the table).
Someone made olive bread and hyped it up like it was some insane delicacy. They gave me a big chunk of this purplish bread, and it tasted EXACTLY like black olives and even had the same texture. It was as if they had gotten 15 cans of black olives, beat them into a chunky paste, then baked that into a log shape. They were so excited for me to try this "amazing family recipe", it took all my strength that day to eat that damn bread without getting sick or making a face.
When I was about 19 I dated a older guy who lived with his aunt and cousins, they invited me over for supper one evening. I than learned they never cleaned her house, ever and she had like 7 dogs that shit everywhere. They than brought me the pork chops and macaroni and cheese.

Kia ap k earphones ki donon sides (left & right)se awaz ati h?😃 ya aik side ne kam krna chor dia h?

I used to have a big milk carton filled with headphones jinka ek side chalta tha aur ek kharab tha. And then one day in an electronics repair shop I saw a person soldering the 3.5 mm jack of a headphone. Curious me. I asked what are you doing so he said. Sir yeh ek side per awaz ati hai ek per nahi. Tou jack change kar raha hun. Needless to say that i invested 380 rs in a soldering iron. Best investment ever!

ورقة امتحان. :")

I was thinking about this the other day. With an unlimited budget, I'd make a Robobrain (robot from Fallout 4) costume. I'd use an electric wheelchair as the base, and Robobrains are bulky enough to include electronics and cooling systems.

I 100% honestly don't replace my electronics often because I can't afford it and I don't really like starting with something new when it comes to electronics because I'm not really that great at technology to be honest with you but I try my best

True or false everyone agrees they would never let the government chip them but haven’t they already with SIM Cards? 🤔

Those are not inside your body lol they're on electronics and such which people choose to get. So if they do come out with a chip that goes into a person's skin it should be their choice and not forced

that sounds like so much fun! I am pretty new to ghost hunting myself but have been interested in ghosts, spirits and the such since I was about 8 years old, I am researching and learning as much as i can each week and have bought a book on communicating with spirits via electronics and spirit --

Yeah I got interested at a really young age too. Ever since then I just always have been researching it. I definitely encourage you to make sure that you research a lot before using certain tools because it can get really dangerous. You could be communicating with things that are 100% human and can follow you and attached itself to you. But also can attach itself to your home or objects. And it's really hard to get rid of the entity especially if it's attached to you. So I definitely encourage you to be really careful when using certain tools which I'm sure you're aware of already. But with that empty being attached to you it's not a pleasant experience it can be really dangerous to not just you but the people around you so just keep that in mind. But I give you great respect in researching the Paranormal because it's a very different subject. A very touchy subject. Very controversial. A lot of Skeptics. All the physics of it all it's just intriguing to me. It's always been.
