Have you ever had to deal with any kind of customer service? How'd it go? ☎️

TobbeAsks’s Profile PhotoTobbe
Yes, many times. As a technical instructor I had to develop and deliver course material that satisfied the customer and either met or exceeded their expectations.
When I worked as a Network Engineer I had to design and implement customer networks, answer technical questions and troubleshoot problems. As long as I resolved the network problem efficiently while minimizing down time or network disruptions, customers were satisfied. However, whenever a problem could not be resolved or took too long to resolve, customers would complain.
The truth is that I enjoy solving problems and customer satisfaction was always a priority of mine. My father would tell me that if you are going to do a job, do it right the first time. Unfortunately, too many companies today do not prioritize customer service and they hire poorly trained staff who lack good social and troubleshooting skills.

Oh yes, definitely. Playing an instrument involves a lot of commitment, so I'll be excited to hear about your updates 😌

When I was young I use to practice 4 hours a day. During high school I had my own rock band and we performed every week. After high school I graduated from a music school but performing was inconsistent so I went back to school for electronic engineering and worked many years as a Network Engineer and played music as a hobby on weekends, but my love has always been music and specifically music for the guitar. So now, God willing, I want to return to my roots and spend most of my time playing my guitars and the music I love.
Have a great week. /Alex

Seems like FAA would be able to work around the kind of problem they claimed caused the outage. Not buying any of it.

I worked as a Senior Network Engineer for fortune 500 companies for over 40 years until I retired. During that time I worked on designing, installing, configuring and troubleshooting large enterprise networks. Every element within the core network and server farms had redundancy and were protected by firewalls, access lists, network mgmt systems and intrusion protection systems. In the event that we suffered a software or hardware failure the affected systems would failover and their network traffic re-routed automatically without user intervention or down time.
Those of us who are paying attention understand that democrats, RINOS, and their deep state operatives will do literally anything to maintain power even if it means destroying America's infrastructure. I honestly believe that this attack was instigated by the deep state. They did it with Russian collusion hoax, Ukraine hoax, Marlargo home invasion, labeling parents as terrorists for attending school board meetings, funding Antifa and BLM to burn down cities, hire 87,000 IRS agents to attack the middle class, leave billions in military hardware in Afganhistan, take control of the MSM as a propaganda tool to be used against American citizens, destroy our southern border, advocate for an international carbon tax to fund the Climate hoax, invade sovereign nations, remove conservative professors and teachers from the Universities, Public schools and confiscate weapons, indoctrinate our children with LGBT nonsense and take control of all Main Street Media to brainwash and dumb down the population.
The attacks on our constitution never end because the democrats are determined to destroy America and implement a New World Order run by globalist tyrants.

Do women in the US care about their profession when they are going to be lovers with someone? (as a social status, such as a doctor or engineer)

>Do women in the US care about their profession when they are going to be lovers with someone?
The smart ones do. Most if not all of the professional women I know studied subjects they were interested in and received degree's that support their professional interests. Why would any sane woman not behave like this? And the doctors, lawyers, engineers and other professional men I know appreciate the fact that their female partner/wife is well educated and doing the work that she enjoys and finds satisfaction in doing.
From my perspective, what I just wrote is "common sense." Unfortunately, for many people, common sense is becoming extinct.
“I've found that common sense ain't so common.”

#MDCATTest2022 bilkl acha nai hoa. Now what am i going to do with my life?? My parents have so many expectations from me. They will be so disappointed with the results. Please suggest me a good degree other than MBBS.

dr_dar’s Profile PhotoAmmarism
So many heartbreaking stories,
First you need to understand and accept the reality that MDCAT is just a test and being a Doctor isn’t everything in life,
My advice to all youngsters would first be to leave this country ASAP if your parents can afford it ,if not try scholarships, Develop skills that other people don’t have at a young age, learn some language give IELTS or TOEFL
If going abroad is not an option & you wish to continue with your studies here then get a degree that you don’t find hard to get it could be anything preferably in IT sector or try something simple like MBA,
Whatever you choose to study it shouldn’t matter to you as much as some side hustle (very important) you should get a job somewhere,,it can be as freelancer or part time at an office or anywhere that suits your taste or ambition.Don’t care what anyone says or think about that. It’s a must.
Almost 75% graduates don’t end up in the same profession they studied for so don’t worry to much about it,what matters is that you tried!
Being a Doctor or Engineer isn’t the only option, these days the professions that have always been looked down upon by Desi Parents are earning much more than any Doctor or Engineer,
Try to acquire Skills, stop running after degrees.
It is good to have good education under your belt not a necessity.
At the end of the day it will all come down to how much money you are making so as I said if start earning today & stop worrying unnecessarily about Mdcat in 3-4 years you will be in a position to launch your own startup business.

If you can still remember, what are your funniest childhood memories?😂

no_willingness_’s Profile Photono_willingness
Idk about the funniest but the most embarrassing thing that i did was take off my pants in my dads office when he wasn't around and went running outside 🤦 (he was a civil engineer btw). God bless that man who explained it to me why little girls should remain covered especially infront of men and he pulled me out of all those men whom i ran into and covered me while the other men were encouraging me to show more. Now that i think about it, it makes me sick to my cores. My dad was working with pedophiles. Btw i was 3 at the time.

My work as an accessibility, engineer and application developer, my true reward is knowing that some of my love energy… my knowledge and skills and understanding of what could really bring a level of Independence and dignity… To those with special needs.

My friend once told me, "Kung ayaw mong magmukhang tanga, you'll never be successful. You'll never live fully." May point nga ba siya?

Hmm yes naman. You'll look foolish talaga when others look at what you do from a different lens than you. It doesn't automatically mean that what you do is wrong tho, it's just that you're stepping out of the comfort zone and you get to be the true engineer of your own destiny by not following the crowd. And who knows, this supposedly foolishness of yours will turn out to be one of the most brilliant ideas mankind could ever come up with pala. Also, it takes nothing to join the crowd but it takes everything to stand alone -- jan palang winner ka na kasi if you merely fit in, you deny yourself the opportunity to grow and hence, you are limiting your ability to succeed in life.

What is the most useless invention in your opinion?

bellmona212’s Profile PhotoMona Bell
That reminds me of a story about microwaves. The invention of microwave in itself is pretty interesting. It was in 1947 when an engineer was working with military radars and he found out that the electromagnetic radiation from the magnetron was capable of melting a chocolate bar in his pocket and could be used to heat stuff up. They called it "diathermic heating". It wasn't until later though that these things were commercially introduced as what we use in our kitchen today, largely due to magnetron technology developing a bit and becoming more compact. That was in the 1960s.
But before finding their place in the kitchen of an average household, these little boxes were used in something a bit crazier than warming food. In the 1950s, a team of scientists were doing some experiments in the lab of a medical institute where they would freeze hamsters and then try to wake them up by applying heat in different methods. The whole thing wasn't very successful as you would expect but then one of them had this idea of using the same diathermic heating from a magnetron. They actually put frozen hamsters in microwaves and the little guys would start walking after some time. Now of course it doesn't work with larger animals for a few reasons, it's still fascinating.
In conclusion, before their current purpose of heating up your coffee for the third time after you forget to drink it, microwaves were being used to reanimate hamsters. Just a little thing to remember next time you go to the kitchen

How easily do you "get in the zone"? Is there anything special that usually triggers that for you? 💻📚🖌

TobbeAsks’s Profile PhotoTobbe
It depends what zone you are talking about. Let's take a look at a few "zones."
1. Creative Zone- for me this involves writing and performing music and improvising. My favorite time to write is at night when I cannot sleep and an idea pops into my head. The words just flow onto the paper like magic. With music, once I walk onto the stage and we get into the first song for about 30 seconds and I can hear that all of the gear is functioning properly and I can hear the mix where the vocals and instruments are blended properly and everyone is in tune and the rhythm is precise, then my confidence increases and I am willing to take risks that sometimes are not possible when the sound is not right. Unfortunately, when the sound and performance is not right, I quickly lose interest in playing and if I could, I would walk off the stage in disgust and go home. When I show up to play, I want to play without any excuses or if's and's or but's. Ah, but such is life and many times the sound isn't right.
2. Athletic Zone - When I was younger I ran competitively in 5k road races. After about one mile is when I would zone out and find my groove. Now I play golf and the groove is found in my swing. The movement of the club, arms, hips must be synchronized in order to transfer maximum energy from the body through the golf club and into the golf ball. So the backswing and follow through, must be executed like a well timed ballet or symphony.
3. Anger Zone - this one I like the least and I prefer to not get into this zone because my ability to use logic and reason is cancelled by my emotions. Mostly I am able to organize my life and schedule to avoid toxic and dysfunctional people who trigger my emotions. However, this is not always possible especially when I am online and just want to write, but have to contend with the hatred and abuse from stalkers who are deeply offended by my writing and thought process. They make these absurd and false claims, as if I give a crap. Luckily these individuals have been identified an a case has been opened with askfm to address the issue of fixing the blocking function.
I have many years working as a Network Engineer and I have spoken with several engineers at askfm and explained how blocking should function and what they need to do to fix it. Once blocking has been fixed, stalkers, when blocked, will no longer be able to see your account or any of your followers. To be honest, I have a major problem when my stalkers start attacking my followers and friends on askfm. This is not just unethical, but it is potentially dangerous as one of my online friends rightly pointed out. I have expressed all of my concerns to engineering and management at askfm and they are fully aware of the situation and are monitoring the affected/offending accounts.
Will askfm do anything to fix the blocking problem? Time will tell. If they do not address the problem within 30 days, I will be disabling this account.

Have you ever done anything special for when you've left a workplace? Like to thank your boss / coworkers for the time you spent there? 🍰🥂⚘️

Most of my employment/career changes resulted in my manager and peers taking me out to dinner to celebrate the contributions I made along with my new promotion. Usually I would give a speech where I highlight successful projects along with the teamwork and support from management. The truth is that I had a very rewarding career as a Network Engineer, Project Manager and Network Architect.

What kind of people are you fond of?

I am a laid back kind of person with a loud personality; I am huge on talking when I have gotten to know the person/people I am living with. This has been a fascinating journey which I am keen to continue.
Geeks with a tendency to get fired up about social issues. I've been with people of varying body types but it pretty much always comes back to that sort of personality. Likely as it matches my own. What varries is the topic of their geekdom.
As far as a romantic relationship, someone who can binge watch Netflix or HBO Go with me, do the dishes after I cook & have a good sense of humor. If you don't speak sarcasm, GTFO. Also, I enjoy having my alone time, give me that & we're good to go.
Introverted people. Not necessarily quiet, because I do know a few that are loud and seem like the life of the party. I'm an extrovert in a mostly introverted immediate family, and then for some reason I'm attracted to other introverts instead of other extroverts. Honestly a person who gets my stupid sense of humor. It's one thing to get along with someone but if I can find someone who I can make the same types of jokes with then I've just made a real friend.
Used to think intelligence was the deciding factor, but the older I get, the more I’ve realized that intelligence doesn’t impress me that much. On the other hand, every once in a while someone will still do something so unexpectedly kind and generous that it blows my mind and restores my faith in humanity.
I'm the kind of person who wants to have friends but can't talk to people causing a massive build up of rage and frustration that I have to bottle up inside myself.
I'm the kind of person who gets to the cinema more than an hour before showtime. I get to the airport 5 hours before a flight. I keep extra socks, underwear, first aid supplies, chargers, and rain gear in my backpack at all times. I plan everything obsessively because I'm always convinced everything will go wrong and I must be prepared for everything. It sucks.
I'm the type of person that everyone assumes is an extrovert - I'm totally an introvert. I won't say anything behind your back that i won't say to your face- and at times that has been harsh for people - though they seem to like my honesty
I'm that guy who, when in my own little world, looks like he wants to kill everything. But as soon as you engage me in conversation, I am nice and chipper almost to the point of being creepy. I've been told I am too smiley too quick.
I come off as a go lucky type of guy , my life motto is " just smile and wave " . I'm a restless person , I'm studious ( mechanical engineer here ) , hardworking and concerned about my future . But I know where I'm heading towards , what my goals are, and more importantly that I'm content with my life . I'm 23 years old , and I just want to help others . :)
That strange weird girl with a guy mentality and full of perverted humor.

Are you pro life or pro choice?

If I were a student in high school my english teacher, ms. Holmes would have responded as follows:
A better question would be this:
Are you anti life or pro life? Why or why not? Please refrain from using one word answers and instead state your argument for or against and be prepared to submit your rational in writing and also be prepared to give and oral presentation stating your arguments for and against and be prepared to defend your thesis.
Conclusion: it is a shame that high school and college students are no longer required to defend their arguments in writing and orally where opposing opinions, facts and rational can be taken into account.
The woke cancel culture is destroying our country because it silences and eliminates all opposition. As a musician and network engineer my compositions and network designs always considered opposing ideas and points of view. How sad it is that in today's cancel culture we have poorly educated students demanding and dictating what is truth. My question is whose truth? The cancel culture activists who scream and burn down cities when they don't get what they want?
So here is my answer, I reject the cancel culture and everything it represents!

Which you think is better, electrical engineer or computer science major, which contribute the most?

I think both professions offer great opportunities, so it really depends upon what type of work you enjoy. If you like software and programming then computer science. However, if you prefer hardware and electronics, then electrical engineering.

I mean if you read in general, it's a basic, generic question, nothing ambiguous about it lol

For most of my career as a Network Engineer I read technical documents dealing with routers, switches, firewalls, etc. Since retirement, I mostly enjoy reading poetry, political essay's and have a library of books that I am reading and working my way through i.e. "The Dying Citizen" - Victor Davis Hanson, "Team Of Rivals" - Doris Kearns Goodwin, "The Road To Serfdom" - F.A. Hayek to name a few.
How about you?
What type of books do you enjoy reading?

What’s your biggest regret in life?

Not joining the military and leaving home immediately upon graduating from high school. Instead I decided to attend college while living with my mother and family who were alcoholics and abusive. This was a huge mistake. Eventually I moved out and completed my college education and became a Network Engineer and relocated and moved away from my abusive family members.

Birather, i knew an engineer jiskay sath larki 8 saal rehnay k baad married a guy jo sabziyon ki rairhi laga k betha hota hai. Don't worry. Move on.

Was college different in your days than it is now?

Yes. Big Time!
When I attended college we did not study: gender studies, black history, feminism, equity and inclusion, etc. I studied composition, arranging, harmony, counterpoint, improvisation, music history, conducting, ear training, guitar, piano, bass guitar, digital systems, analog systems, power supplies, electricity, physics, calculus, English Literature, US History, Ancient History, Fine Arts, Public Speaking, Psychology, Philosophy, Network engineering, machine language, basic programming, pascal programming, C Programming, IP addressing, Subnet masking, OSPF, BGP, RIP, WAN, LAN, Routers, Switches, Firewalls, OSI Model, Access Lists, etc
And after acquiring all of this knowledge I worked hard to apply what I had learned. In the case of music, I performed in bands and practiced to continuously improve. In the case of engineering I became a Cisco Certified and Baynetworks Certified Network Engineer and worked for many organizations over a 40 year career i.e. Motorola, Nortel, Cabletron, Bay Networks, Cisco, State of New Hampshire, Vital Networks, Bloomin Brands and Tech Data.
Whenever possible, I studied subjects that interested me and that I knew would allow me to earn money and provide for my family. I also studied music, not for the money, but because I love Music and that has always been my dream to earn a degree from Berklee College of Music. Some people say, so what? Who cares? Here is the thing, when we are moments away from death and we reflect upon the life we have lived, what will we think? Will we regret our life because we only did those things that made us money? Or will we have a more balanced appreciation that we utilized our time to not only provide for our family but that we also achieved our dream and thus satisfied our soul? The choice is ours to make and only we, as individuals, can make those choices and be honest enough to own whatever choice we make, and refrain from blaming other people or society, and thus become "victims."
My father once told me the following: "son you've made your bed, and now you must lie in it." Which translated, means that we are responsible for the decisions we make and the consequences of those decisions whether good or bad. Said differently, we must take responsibility for what we think, say and do.

When my parents were in their late 20s they had a house and a car. I’m in my late 20s and I don’t even have a chair to my name. Isn’t that sad?

I lived with my parents until I was 24 years old and when I finally moved out in 1978 and rented an apartment, I was broke and could not even afford a full size bed, so my wife and I slept on a single size mattress for about 6 months until we could afford a full size mattress. And to add insult to injury, my wife and I both had bachelor degree's from reputable colleges and we owed about $100k in student debit. Yet, we persisted and never lost our faith or hope.
My wife was pregnant with our first child and I enrolled in an engineering degree program while working as a janitor on 3rd shift for Motorola/Codex which was a high tech modem manufacturer. After 2 years I worked my way into a technician position earning about $18k/yr. Slowly I climbed my way up becoming a technical instructor and eventually a network engineer earning $120k/yr.
I am now retired, but work 30 hours/wk as a janitor in our local high school to help pay the bills, and I am 70 years old.
Looking back at my career, I smile thinking that I started out as a janitor and in the twilight of my years, I am still working as a janitor. Talk about irony, right?
The point I want to make is that we are not victims. You and I have the ability to reason and to set goals for ourselves that are both reasonable and achievable. However, our goals can only be attained with blood, sweat and tears. I am not going to say too much about my life except that I never lost my faith in God, my family or my own innate abilities.
For example, when my wife and I got married, nobody thought we would last 5 years and 42 years later we are still in love. My wife earned 3 degrees (a bachelor and 2 masters degrees) and I earned a degree in music and another degree in engineering. And during my life, not once did I blame my family or society for what I did not have.
Why? Because my father taught me: "son, you can achieve whatever you set your mind to achieve as long as you are willing to work for it and put forth the effort, you will eventually succeed." My father was 100% correct.
Not only did my wife and I procure and excellent education and pay for it with our own money, but we raised 3 children and over the years built 4 houses and renovated 3 homes to earn extra money, plus we were active in our church music ministry and my wife competed in swim meets while I performed music on weekends in various bands.
Remember, we only live for approximately 70 - 90 years, which in the grand scheme of things is but a brief moment in time. And so we really do not have time to waste worrying about people or things that we have no control over, right? So it seems to me to be common sense to concern ourselves with the one thing we have 100% control over.... our own thoughts, behaviors and actions. And since thoughts precede actions, if we are unhappy with an outcome or our current position in life, then we must alter our thought process and establish realistic goals and objectives.

I'm a guy, and I'm not getting many likes or matches on dating apps. I'm an avg looking guy, and probably the most appealing thing in my profile can be that I got into a very esteemed college, and after that got a great paying job. I haven't added it in my profile yet, seems weird, should I?

I don't really think that you should mention you having a "great paying job", might end up attracting the wrong crowd. You can mention what work you do though. Like an engineer at ABC company, CA working in XYZ etc.

TobbeAsks’s Profile PhotoTobbe
I apologize in advance for my long winded answer.
I am not familiar with the products that you mentioned. Years ago, as a young engineer, I did get involved with the development of hardware used to build the internet i.e. modems, multiplexers, routers, switches, management systems, firewalls, etc. Most of my career was spent learning these technologies, educating users, designing networks, installing equipment, configuration and troubleshooting network problems.
I did not get involved much with applications; however, I am interested to see how Elon Musk will rebrand and redesign Twitter and I am also interested in what Trump is creating with the Trump Media and Technology Group.
I never thought that the networks I implemented would be used to suppress free speech and to determine election outcomes. So I am committed to investing my time, effort and finances to help develop any network and associated applications that support free speech and will give all humans a voice in determining the future for our planet and humankind. I believe in culture, tradition and national sovereignty and I do not support the World Economic Forums radical agenda and their stated goal of a New World Order, Great Reset or One World Government. Each nation should determine it's own destiny and all decisions should be made by local governments and NOT by a centralized government that does not answer to the citizens of each country.
This is why we need parallel networks that support the will of the worlds citizens and not the will of tyrannical governments, globalist billionaires orspecial interest groups who want to force their will upon the citizens of the world. I will therefore support any organization that believes in free will and freedom of speech and who are willing to confront and compete against Google, Microsoft, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Tyrannical Governments, NGO's, Special Interest groups, Legacy Media, Hollywood, the Globalist Ruling Class, WEF, WHO, United Nations, Intelligence agencies or any other entity or organization that is attempting to control the world through violence, pandemics, war, disasters, food shortages, disease, taxes, mandatory lockdowns, suppression of free speech, Open Borders, Hyper-inflation or any other clever and nefarious strategies and evil schemes that these globalist tyrants can imagine, plan and implement without the expressed consent of the people.

What you wanted to become in your childhood?

Artist/ painter/ street artist , Scientist, physicist, medical doctor, veterinary doctor, engineer, journalist, elementary school teacher, poetess, literature expert, columnist /writer, newscaster, educationist.
I wanted to become literally everything. 😅
Even singer too, though I knew I couldn't sing.

What did you want to be when you were little?

Way too many things..
I wanted to be a diagnostician, a psychiatrist, a psychoanalyst, a theoretical physicist, a nuclear engineer, a professor of mathematics, a marine biologist, a tomb raider, a professional chef, and many many other things. :')
The funny is that I still want be many of these things :"

I'm trying to see some subtle and major differences between different INTJs. Describe yourself like telling us about your hobbies, interests, talents, what your personality is like, etc.

I'm complex as hell. No one ever sees the full me because of that. My family sees one piece. People I work with see a totally different piece. People I like/friends see something else. And you people on Reddit see mostly a different piece from everyone else. When people from any of these four elements see me in one of the other elements, they get really confused. Some people think I'm intimidating as hell while other people think the idea that I'm intimidating is completely laughable. I'm old, but I look significantly younger than I am, i.e. at least a decade younger. So, I get a lot of amusement from people because of all of these things. I like dark blue and black and wear those colors almost all the time. I actually love sports, but I treat it like an academic subject. I'm into politics, psychology, reading, research, learning, social issues, pretty much all kinds of music (no "I have eclectic taste" followed by "I hate pop music," though, admittedly, I'm less familiar with modern music--but I just like anything that sounds good to me), old sitcoms. I like philosophical discussions. Great career, but always thinking about what the next step is and positioning for it. "Forever alone"--too weird and different to find someone who is compatible with me and actually wants me. Not "girly." Very calculating and always staying a step ahead of others. Usually have a plan B or a contingency plan. Very unemotional on the outside, more emotional and romantic on the inside. I'm on my early 20s. Very introverted. I find it hard to connect with people. I am picky with my relationships (platonic and romantic). Quite elitistic and arrogant. Loves fine art and the violin. Adores dogs. Pragmatic. Loves money money money! 🤑
I am kind of motivated but unmotivated most of the time. I am a highschool student and I used to go to a boarding school. It taught me a lot about people. And I dream of becoming an engineer and make stuff. I made friends when I used to attend the school, but only talk to one after leaving the school. And I don't really have a person to talk to a lot, but that dosent mean I am alone, have family and friends (2), but just lonely. Closest thing to a friend I have is a random french girl I found on omegle. I rarely talk, to a fistfull of people. I am just shy. Oh and the compliment I get the most by few people I talk to is "weird in an interesting way"
I am also interested in philosophy and psychology, especially applying it to my personal life or analysing the behaviour of others around me. I have grown more confident over time but I still feel very awkward or out of place. I am a very reserved person but I enjoy talking with my friends about meaningful topics. I usually mind my own business but I enjoy giving insightful advice to my friends because I know it will be useful for them. I have two cats. I like iced coffee. I am a good leader.
