Do you exercise? What's your favourite exercise? Do you own any gym equipment? 😁

M1ssSemy’s Profile PhotoStar. i
I do exercise! I either go swimming, both with a swim team and alone or I head to the gym! When I swim I like to put on paddles and a snorkle and just swim laps upon laps, I find it very relaxing! Not in that it doesn't tire me but it's a good way for me to clear my head 🏊‍♂️
I own some resistance bands, jump ropes and a "multi trainer band" but I very rarely use those at home to be honest with you 😅

Is free will real or just an illusion?

EloquentlySagacious’s Profile PhotoEloquentlySagacious
We will often face situations and circumstances which could lend either impression. While certain elements may always remain beyond our control, we aren't completely incapable of making choices, reaching decisions or exercising some degree of influence. Much to the chagrin of fatalists, I do not accept the notion that we are as impotent as agonized proponents of determinism would suggest. Numerous philosophical theories dismiss the concept of free will entirely. In my estimate, such absolutist positions do not encourage us to arrive at sensible conclusions. Compelling arguments have been presented against the existence of free will but many fail to acknowledge one critical factor: free will is not ingrained but rather, a destination which one should strive to reach. From Plato's view, mastery of the self can empower an individual to express free will. In Aristotle's assessment, a rational creature should realize that a great portion of what we do is indeed voluntary. Perhaps, when we fail to recognize our abilities, act decisively, exercise our options and author our fates, others will be eager to scribble the terms and impose their own wills. Some may find this acceptable. I would not. Unless you were under duress, you've sent your question and read my response in accordance with your free will. The decision to answer it was directed by mine. I would be tempted to construe this exchange as a modest example of free will in action.

How do you choose to get around? 🚗🚲🚶🚄

TobbeAsks’s Profile PhotoTobbe
Hi Tobbe. How I get around depends upon what I am trying to accomplish. If I am writing a poem or composing music, I prefer to get around using my imagination and creativity; however, if I am in the mood to exercise or view nature, I prefer to walk. Driving is my last resort and it is something I enjoyed when I was a young man, but now in the autumn of my life, I drive my car only when absolutely necessary. Luckily, I live in a small city with spectacular ocean views where 90% of life's necessities are within walking distance from my home.
* note: photo is a boardwalk located amongst the mangroves. It is one of my favorite places to walk and explore with my dog princess.

How to deal with frustrations?

Coping mechanisms and strategies differ from person to person, depending on what's the source of your frustration. These sources can be both external and internal.
Sometimes it's because of build up emotions inside you, your capacity to hold on to those emotions, wo khatam ho jati he because it's just emotions generating and living inside you, there's no outlet for them to be channelized.
Sometimes it's because your psychological and biological needs are not met.
And sometimes it's simply because of something that goes out of your control or something that's not happening acc to your will, i.e., cognitive dissonance.
In any case, know your triggers, accept the situation, try to analyze the external/environmental causes, then look at what you're feeling as a result of those triggers (your internal state), introspect, try to have a solution focused approach.
Try to respond than to react. Mindfulness and exercise can also be very helpful in most of the cases.
I personally try to do something where I can experience control and that can act as catharsis. As in cooking or writing.
And, why do I always get such subjective questions. 🤧

Any advice for someone who's struggling with body confidence ?

I was/am too, not so much anymore that I'm doing something about it but I still have the occasional soft drink here and there but it hasn't affected my weight so far now I'm only drinking one every few days. But eat healthier/exercise and drink a lot of water, you don't have to cut everything out but do it slowly if you do. That is if you want to do something about it but I'm sure you are also beautiful the way you are now, look in the mirror and tell yourself you are beautiful no matter what the size. Your weight is not who you are and it's not all you are. If you want try to get motivated to exercise or drink water at least once a day however that may be, for me I just do it I don't think about it or I look in the mirror and see how well I'm doing and that kinda motivates me to get back to the weight I was when I was 18 which is slowly but surely working. It is difficult to get into the right mindset and I know there are days you just want to lay around and read a book or something after a stressful day, it's more what you put into your body then exercise but it is a part of it. Whatever you decide to do remember your body isn't all you are and you are beautiful exactly the way you are

What were some of your best moments of 2022?🎆

TobbeAsks’s Profile PhotoTobbe
🎨 Finally finishing my Horseman painting! (I just need to do some minuscule touch ups and photograph it again, but it’s 95+ percent done!
☕️ Being offered a promotion and being handpicked by the area manager at work
🌿 Working at the RHS Shows - both Chelsea and Hampton Court - they were both really lovely for different reasons, and there’s such good energy at the shows!
🎄 Running a Christmas show by myself for three days, which was pretty unusual as the majority traders had numerous folk on hand! It showed to me at least, that I’m good at working under pressure in a really busy environment! Aside from that, it was quite electric and upbeat in terms of atmosphere, and it was lovely to see some familiar faces and meet new people!
🐾 Codes will always be such a colossal loss as he was my best friend and it brings me peace to continue talking about him at home, but I’m also very grateful for gaining Woody this year. He’s a very mischievous but loving pup, and he’s incredibly sweet!
⛸️ ice skating with my pals from work was a riot; it was a really good team building exercise! I was happy to make a fool of myself to make the others laugh (not that I tried hard at all, since I can’t skate to save my life 😆).
💗 I’ve been slowly curating a gift box full of various trinkets and items (and other things that are a surprise!) for @nurbzee and whilst I’m incredibly sorry she’s had to wait so long, I truly hope it’ll be worth the wait! I just need to write my letter and wait for the mail strikes to end, and I’ll be sending it asap! Trekking around London finding items that I think she’ll (hopefully) like has been such a joy ✨
🙏🏻 It’s not necessarily a happy moment, but this past year I’ve really dedicated to healing and self development, and I finally feel that I’m so close to achieving my goal, of processing a lot of heaviness from my past. I know healing isn’t linear, but I’m also tonnes better compared to this time last year! It’s been unpleasant, painful and gruelling with the pain physically manifesting in my body, but finally having that inner peace will be such a blessing.
🌊 Last but not least, my family holiday to Devon. It was a much needed respite and we truly lucked out with the weather. Being by the sea is so good for the soul, and I wish I lived closer to there tbh! 🐚

How to put a stop to your stress?

SundayMondayOfficial’s Profile PhotoUNKNOWN PERSON
There are two type of stresses.
1) that has a solution. For example, being stressed about exams. Study! Stressed about being overweight, follow a proper diet and exercise plan. As tough as these solutions are, they are solutions after all. They'll end your stress.
2) the second type is the kind that doesn't have a solution at all or doest have an immediate solution. For example, stressing about death. No solution to this, we all will die. Or stressing about the future, financial stability in the future etc. There's no immediate solution to this. In this case, understand that every goal has mini steps that lead to it. This is your time to focus on those mini steps and not wish for that final goal to suddenly come to life.
If I want to have my own house in my city, I'll have to start work for it at least 4-5 years early. I collect money, I get the land, I get an outline, I start building on etc. All these are my mini steps. If I am in my mini steps phase and still worrying that i dont have a house yet then I'm being silly and unreasonable. Your stress will reduce significantly if you understand that you probably are in your mini step phase rn and that the final destination will take some time.

What’s the one your insecure about the most?

Currently ; my physical body appearance.
I have discovered I have severe food allergies which make me bloat and gain weight because of lethargy. I have had to change my diet drastically & be careful about what I eat. I have lost weight but I need to lose a lot more. I also discovered I have organ fat which makes my organs not work probably so diet change and exercise is a must.
So overall my body is giving up on me 😂

Ever since I've been exercising regularly, I've been better mentally. Obv it doesn't cure my depression and anxiety, but it does make me less anxious. If you had told me awhile ago that exercise helps I would've been like "oh pls". Lmao it actually works! Do you work out?

good ! yeah, exercising is known to release those feel-good chemicals in the brain that helps most people with depression and anxiety.
i don't exercise, but i eventually plan to start. i need to be more active on a regular basis.

What scares / worries you? How do you deal with it? 💭

Well, I've given up on news, things that play on our fears, look at the news, it's just people telling you society is in decline, war is about to happen, and the economy is crumbling.
Fears are just part of our nature, and it should be kept under control, through exercise, surrounding yourself with positive friends, and reading some great answers.

I write down my negative feelings to get rid of them.

Try to be good at turning grief into productivity; study harder, work harder, exercise more, tire yourself out so that you drift off to sleep before 10pm. Sometimes this only prolongs the healing, sometimes you need to feel for a while.
Tame your heart:
1. Immerse yourself in the reason for which you ache.
2. Put this aching to good use.

IYO, is it worthwhile to drink lucozade before exercise? I mean one bottle before running 10k or more, or cycling 50 miles or more. I’ve been told it’s unhealthy because it’s so sugary, but I think it’s ok if one burns off that energy. Could you please advise?

Hadacol’s Profile PhotoHerbert Henry Asquith
Entirely dependant on the individual and how they respond to the contents. I personally wouldn't recommend it because of the temporary sugar high and the dehydrating effects, but that's based on personal preference. If it were my athletes, I'd recommend that they try a run with and a run without, just to see how it feels.

Ciekawostka na temat Chrisa?

scoobydoopolska’s Profile Photo#SDpl Scooby-Doo Polska
Chris wraz z braćmi w jednym z filmików przeszli z szoku do wyśmiewania kawałka artykułu na stronie „Biographyer,” w którym ktoś napisał totalnie nieprawdziwy fakt o Chrisie. Brzmiał on tak:
„He is a fitness freak person and loves to exercise every day he takes great care of his body and his physique makes anyone crazy about him.”

I feel so numb these days. No emotions at all. Nothing excites me anymore. What should i do?

you can change your routine. eat as healthy as you can. go for a workout or exercise, grounding exercises helps too. make an effort to leave your room and take a walk instead of staying indoors. limit your screen time, if possible. share your challenges with someone you can trust. consider reaching out to a professional if you don't feel comfortable confiding in friends or family members. i hope this helps

What’s an experience that caused you to change your entire outlook on life?

J_A1996’s Profile PhotoJordan
Being diagnosed with a dynamic disability (one where symptoms fluctuate and range in severity depending on the day) that drastically affects my mobility.
The experience made me realize how much I took for granted my independence. I took for granted the ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, etc… Especially being able to do those things consistently, and without help.
Now, I have to worry about how much I’m doing, and what I’m doing. I can’t exercise the same way I used to, I can walk fine somedays, and others I can’t walk at all. I have a hard time making plans ahead of time because there’s no guarantee I’ll be able to stand up that day.
My outlook very quickly shifted from “I can do anything I want, I don’t need help” to “Appreciate what your body lets you do right now, cause there’s no guarantee you’ll be able to do those things tomorrow…”

Yo . I have a question . What ever i eat turns into fat Not muscles or energy .Why is that

Insulin is a hormone released by the Pancreas in response to the types and amounts of foods we eat. Because of our modern diet culture, our Pancreases tend to pump out large doses of insulin on a frequent basis. Now, insulin can be your best friend or your worst enemy, or a bit of both.
It all depends on how sensitive your muscles are to the insulin you produce. Without optimal insulin sensitivity, the majority of the foods you eat (especially carbohydrates) will be quickly turned into fat, rather than used to build and repair that all important muscle tissue.
If you are eating carbs such as breads, pastas, cereals, rice, cakes, sweets, sugar, anything grain/flour based, be sure to only eat them in the meal directly after intense exercise. Your muscles will be much more sensitive to the insulin produced and will soak up the carbs rather than them being stored as fat. Change the order of food you eat

Add Psyllium into your diet it can lower post meal blood sugar levels by almost 20%. Take one teaspoon of Psyllium husk (ispaghol ka chilka) with water twice per day. You’ll improve blood sugar levels as well as giving yourself bowel movements that you can set your watch to.
Get your fish oil. Fish oil not only improves your muscle’s insulin sensitivity, it also reduces the amount of insulin secreted by the Pancreas.

How many times a day do you change clothes? Do you have “house clothes” and then “running to the store” clothes and then “going for a drink with friends” clothes or is it all the same?

GlindaBells’s Profile PhotoAngel Of Mercy
Is this your way of asking the pervy Q “What are you wearing?”
Oh my!
There is going to be an extra change of clothes for an exercise period. Otherwise, there are the “going out the door” clothes which are the same for errands, a pub, or socializing. Sometimes it might be a nicer shirt for a fancier place but not often.
House clothes are for comfort. If I’m in for the rest of the evening/day, then house clothes it is.
So, clothes change twice (third for exercise).

How do you deal with anxiety?

kinzanoor267’s Profile PhotoKinza
Okay Firstly Anxiety symptoms varies from person to person
Main things which I personally use to deal with my ones are
Do Breath exercise plus Recite any Quranic verse which comes to my mind at that time
Eat chocolates (or something sweet)
Listen music
Interact with someone even random girl whoever so ,because I am a chatterbox 😅 /or call a friend

Being a female, It is really hard to stay consistent with exercise and work out. And I have no energy to explain that loll

Yes, it can be quite tough to maintain consistency especially keeping in mind our menstrual cycle, along with the hormonal changes it brings within us. But, you gotta set your plan according to that and find regularity.
Exercise + yoga + meditation makes you more efficient.🤷🏻‍♀️

Should a person blame themselves for depression or should they blame the world?

People who suffer from depression should not blame themselves nor should they blame the world. How is blaming yourself or the world for a mental health condition that you are not responsible for going to help you? It is not. I have suffered from chronic depression my entire adult life. What I try to do is to understand it and to manage it as best that I am able to, through exercise, diet, rest, hobbies and hard work, while also limiting the stress and chaos in my life by setting effective personal boundaries and taking time every day to do the things that I enjoy, like playing my guitar or writing poems which captivate me and fill my heart and soul with joy, wonder and peace.
Here is something I wrote that addresses the issue of depression.
“Depression” by Nico
I do not think depression can be eliminated, but I do believe that depression can be managed. Sometimes I feel that depression is like a shadow that follows me everywhere I go; nevertheless, I also realize that my shadow is simply a virtual reflection of my emotional suffering that is chimerical. Depression can never control us unless we give it our explicit permission to do so.

Do you perhaps have any suggestions for games one can play to get to know each other better? Tomorrow I'll be hosting a dinner for novices at the student organiation I'm a part of, us mentors are tasked with coming up with such a game each 🗣🎲♣️

TobbeAsks’s Profile PhotoTobbe
Hi Tobbe. Unfortunately I am not familiar with many games but here are a few ideas:
- Monopoly - could pair users into teams where they need to work together to make informed financial decisions.
- Guessing Game - put names of people, places or things into a container and each participant selects a name and has to act it out w/o talking (non verbal) where people have to guess what it is.
- Karaoke - if the people are not shy (courageous) and you have the proper Karaoke equipment you could have people entertain by singing.
- Literary or Poetry game -
a. read a poem and see who can guess the author
b. Read passage from famous literary piece and have people guess writer.
c. Select a handful of famous poems and have people read the poem and have group discuss it's meaning.
d. Creative writing exercise: Provide a topic and have guests write a short story (paragraph) or short poem about topic. Then have them read what they wrote.
e. Roleplay: Choose a topic or historical figure or artist, etc and have people act out a script. For example, you could take a famous play (maybe one scene) with multiple characters and color code the text based upon each character. The participants could then read their lines. The props, music, background noise (horses, dogs, etc) could be supplied by the audience.
This assumes you are dealing with adults who do not mind expressing themselves in public.
Sorry I don't have much knowledge with games and so I just made this stuff up out of thin air. :)

TobbeAsks’s Profile PhotoTobbe
Really only on VR. Oculus was an impulse buy that I purchased literally the first time I ever heard of it. But it changed my life and was for sure one of the most worthwhile purchase of my life. Really not for gaming reasons but for meditation and exercise. I’ve rarely used it the past few months though. I think my real life became a bit more interesting than virtual reality.

Do u believe in freedom of speech? because it seems like you cant give opinions anymore.

if you wanna exercise your freedom of speech rights, just remember that other people will exercise their rights too. don’t get offended when somebody calls out your bs😌

Do u believe in freedom of speech? because it seems like you cant give opinions anymore.

> Do u believe in freedom of speech?
Yes. The right is *guaranteed* by the 1st. Amendment:
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; *or abridging the freedom of speech*, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."
> because it seems like you cant give opinions anymore.
Which is why ALL "arguments" against free speech must be exposed, challenged and repudiated.
Do u believe in freedom of speech because it seems like you cant give opinions

What are you currently doing to improve your life?

moving into a productive space in a new environment (it feels like a new chapter of my life). getting more physical movement and exercise on a regular basis. pushing myself out of my comfort zone by driving to new places and trying to overcome my driving anxiety.

I don't live in a block of flats / apartments.
However I do know that building maintenance is not down to the tenants living in that community. Least it's like that here.
Also what other people buy for their personal use is no one else's business! Their purchase has nothing to do with a broken lift :)

Nah, what’s the point, if you compel someone to say something they don’t want to say they’re only going to lie anyway. If there isn’t enough evidence to convict without a forced witness then you don’t have a case

133 days left until 2023. Have you accomplished what you were hoping to get done this year, almost done or has the time slipped by too fast?

One of my goals was to reduce my mortgage by 75% which I have accomplished as of July. My goal is to payoff the mortgage within 2 years. Another goal was to replace the flooring in the master bedroom which is also complete. I have a few personal goals that I am working on related to music, photography and exercise that are in progress.
