at first, during debut era, exom gave more revenue than exok. sure exok's physical albums were sold more than exom's but M got more jobs and promotions than K. remember when M went to supershow jakarta as opening act? going to LA for KCON? and other gigs that exok never got. exom's fame mostly came from the ex members, luhan and yifan. now they're gone, exom got way less fame than exok. sure jongdae's a great singer but he's not that famous. yixing and tao are just so-so, the most famous one is minseok. all bulk orders would come from his fans. so what did SM do to increase chi version album sales?

1) making the album with individual covers in kor and chi versions, making exok fans buy the chi version as well,

2) giving random photocards, so collectors will buy more albums to get all photocards available,

3) including baeksoo in the chi ver songs to increase digital sales, especially kyungsoo since he has more fans than baekhyun (mainly after his dating scandal with taeyeon).

I hope this makes sense, but they haven't had secure album promotions yet as "EXO". It feels like all their promotions so far for each album have been experimental stages for the group and they haven't had consistency as a group yet.

MAMA was the beginning of EXO and kept to SM's main purpose of EXOM situated in China and EXOK situated in Korea with their weekly music shows. Wolf and XOXO was supposed to be momentary OT12 but it extended all the way to Growl because of all the success. SM neglected EXOM and EXO's activities and focus in China but OT12 sweeped over 17 trophies in this cycle . MID was an OT3 subunit. Overdose probably would have been another OT12 breakthrough just like Growl and if it did, they would have found stability in promoting properly if they really were to do OT12 through and through and no more lingering. But Krishan left so it ruined that chance. EXOK only promoted in music shows and EXOM was left home despite OT12 performing at end of year awards and collecting a daesangs together. (This album promotion left them with no radio appearances, variety show appearances, or fan-signs too.) Winter's Tale is also an OT3 subunit.

There still has yet to be a stable EXO album promotion as a group. Other groups release albums and get into scandals too but the promotions are constant. No probability games of taking advantage of their numbers and possibilities of spicing things up that it gets confusing for the members and the fans to keep up. EXO is a complicated group which is why they haven't had any second MAMA or a second Growl or a second MID. But even if they did have a second for any of these, which one is the true EXO? Is the first intention of EXO during MAMA the real EXO, OT12 during Growl, OT3 during MID, or OT10 during Overdose? Which one is the road of EXO? It's not really about the music since their albums have been two versions of EXOM and EXOK (minus the mixed vocal title tracks) up until now. It's how crazy they're promoting this group. Too crazy. It doesn't feel like a continuation, but more of a new beginning every single time they come back.

Their next album is going to be another promotion to add onto their list of one times and different beginning since it'll be the first album after Krishan left. Maybe the next album AFTER the next one will be their second constant promotion as a group if they decide to stick to OT10 and no more alternations or experimental ideas.

Ich weiß nur, dass SNSD sich ihre Fanbase über Jahre hinweg erarbeitet haben. Ihnen wurde ihr Erfolg nie zugeschmissen, ganz im Gegenteil, man hat sie Anfänglich sogar sehr kritisiert. Und dann kommt Exo. 12 gutaussehende Jungs und Bäm. Innerhalb ( 2? KA ) Jahre mit einer der erfolgreichsten K Gruppen. Fair? Nope. Aber dafür können die Idole ja nichts. Sie tun nur ihren Job, das sind wirklich nur die Fans, die ich nicht mag - und ist ja auch nicht so dass Exo keine gute Musik macht, aber sie werden meistens als erstes auf ihr Äußeres reduziert. Gibt nur sehr wenige Fans, die sich erst das Lied anhören, dann das MV schauen. Ich hab oft so das Gefühl, dass sich die Frauen noch mehr anstrengen müssen, um überhaupt Interesse von den Hörern zu bekommen. . .während anderen Gruppen das, wie gesagt, einfach hinterher geworfen wird.

Ich mag dieses Ungleichgewicht nicht.
Ich kann das vorallem an dem Verhalten von Kpop Fanpages festmachen. Da sehe ich nur Male Idole und es hängt mir schon zu den Ohren raus. Auf jeder Facebook Fanpage sehe ich Boy Idol Spamms, als jucke es niemanden, dass es noch Weibliche gibt.
Von mir kriegt man das nicht. Wie gesagt, ich mag einige male Groups und ich höre sie auch regelmässig. Aber es wird noch sehr lange dauern, bis ich die Motivation finde und mich über sie richtig informiere.

Haber yo conoci el KPop de 3 formas XD
1.Yo era algo viciada a los animes y tal y atraves de los openings me gustaba el Jpop y eso me llevo a ver doramas japoneses y de alli a Kdoramas... y sus OST son Kpop asique ... XD
2.Una vez una amiga que no es kpoper puso un video de un grupo,BAP warrior y bueno me fui a casa y busque mas videos y me encantaron (pero no era baby ni sabia mucho de eso XD)
3.yo tenia una pagina donde aprendia idiomas llamada Livemocha y vi que habia mucha gente que aprendia coreano y tenia curiosidad de ver porque (yo aprendia japones) fui a sus perfiles y vi que ponia que le gustan grupos y que son kpopers (yo no sabia lo que era eso) vi que ponia 2NE1 y muchos mas grupos (me llamo la atencion porque ponia numeros y letras seguramente XDDD) lo puse en la barra de youtube y vi MVs de ellas sobre todo im the best y en los dias siguientes estaba viciada a sus canciones que las habia bajado ... mientras veia videos vi que tenia un MV con un grupo de chicos y eso era BIGBANG <3 (nunca me arrepentire de haber escrito 2NE1 y BIGBANG en la barra de youtube). me gusto la canion lollipop y me llamo la atencion el de la voz grave asi que busque informacion... no pude reconocerlo (me parecian todos iguales looooool) pero resulto que hicieron comeback y i los MVs y demas y con el pelo azul me enamoro... fue amor a primera vista XD (?) por eso soy tan VIP ahora e.e aunque fui BJ primero y baby XD

If he did that.. Magically enough... My heart.. (And I can feel it now) would stop. And my eyes would water up and I'd have this pathetic smile on my face as I looked up at him.. And I mean most girls would just scream or sob uncontrollably, I'd basically just stand there as silent as ever and stutter out some sort of "I love you." exo got here because of the professionals'/judges' comparisons, there's a difference. they were all chosen to debut therefore they're all considered good and in my opinion /fans/ should support them all, fans of the whole group of course. if you're not a fan of the whole group you'll obviously support a member more than the others and just see him/her as being the best etc etc. but fans of the group should support all the members (thats how i see it) and not compare them as "OMG HE'S SO MUCH BETTER" because it doesn't help....anyone?i do have a bias, and i do see him as being nearly perfect, but this doesn't mean i have to put down the others and say all the time how he's so much better than the others because in some areas he actually is but i don't say it because that would make me a dick and not a fan of the whole group?let's take an example. if you had a sibling and you would hear all the time all the fucking time your parents saying how he/she is better than you, how would you feel? but as a parent, no one should do that because they're still your kids and you shouldn't compare them. with fans this is slightly different because the members of the group wont hear our complains and how they think a member is better than the other. because there is no constructive criticism after all. each individual has his own qualities and each one of them shines through something, you don't HAVE to put one on a pedestal and compare him to another member just to make him look better. i was mainly pissed at the exo-m fans obviously shitting more on the exo-k members than the exo-k fans do with the exo-m members (i actually have never seen this happening or im just again not paying enough attention) because that was the main reason why this whole thing even started. i was pissed at how THEY put the M members on a pedestal and compare them to the K members and say how much better they are at singing, dancing, how much better looking they are, how they're better friends, how they support each other more, how they have nicer personalities, etc etc etc. because even if there is exok and exom, EXO still exists and if you are a fan of EXO you shouldn't do that and you shouldn't compare. i am also a shinee, snsd and f(x) fan. mainly a shinee fan and i never compared any of the members because they have their own qualities?? they are special in their own way i dont have to compare them to make another one look like he's better? i do have a favourite, and i state it, "i like X the most" but i don't say "i like X better than Y,Z,P because he's this and that and the others aren't". i could compare teamin and key, i could compare minho and key, i could compare jonghyun and onew, but i didn't because they're all different. comparisons will just make the fandom look worse and worse. but people will still continue doing it so there's no point in arguing over that anymore. i'm just saying that comparing them doesn't make you look like a good fan, but on the contrary.
