Yes, I had to leave my toxic friends and the guy I thought I loved, but in reality it was a toxic emotional dependence, codependency.
It was self-destruction, because I drank a lot of alcohol at the time, suffered from depression and had bulimia, I felt sick, and at first I couldn’t understand that the people around me were destroying me.
And I was destroying myself because of them, because of my love for them.
It could have ended badly if it weren’t for a visit to the doctor, antidepressants, and separation from my toxic mother and a break with my boyfriend and “friends.” I haven’t spoken to my father for many years either, although he is like a stranger to me, he and my mother have been divorced since my childhood. That’s probably why I understand Amy Winehouse, my favorite singer, and I feel very sorry for her, but my former childhood friend blamed her for all her troubles, because she had no empathy, but I only realized this later.
