I love your background photo. Isn’t that supposed to be a pharaoh? But it’s an alligator on a pharaohs body?

Sobek 👉 was a god of the Nile who brought fertility to the land. As the “Lord of the Waters” he was thought to have risen from the primeval waters of Nun to create the world and made the Nile from his sweat. One creation myth stated that Sobek laid eggs on the bank of the waters of Nun, thus creating the world.

Hey tobs is it ok if I call you tobs and do you have any piercings or tattoos and if you do what are they not to sound demanding

I don’t care sure. And yes. An ouroboros. It’s a dragon eating it’s tail. An ancient alchemy symbol depicting the eternal cycle of life, death and rebirth. It symbolizes the never ending cycle of nature and the connection all energy has to other energies. It was also seen as a fertility symbol in some cultures.

Allah SWT said: "Have they not seen that We set upon the land, reducing it from its borders? " S, Ar.Ra'd verse 41 i believe that the earth is egg shaped because that mentioned in S.Al Nazi'aat verse 30 But does it have borders ? ?

Yes, earth is egg shaped sphere, this is undeniable, and that's a universal fact even if it wasn't mentioned in Quran
That being said, in the stated verse, the Arabic word 'الأرض' (al a'ard) translates to 1- earth (globe), and to 2- land (compared to sea), and to 3- specific piece of land (my land, your land, etc). This verse has various interpretations, none of which refers to the first meaning (globe). Many scholars interpret it as a message of warning and awakening to unbelievers that means: Can't you, unbelievers, see that your land is diminishing from it's borders by the expansion of Muhammad's -pbuh- reign?
Other interpreters took a more metaphorical approach, stating that the meaning of "land reduction" is the reduction of its blessing and fertility and production, or by the death of its righteous

The more people there are, the more conflicts will arise, because it will become harder and harder to manage ourselves - How do you think about this? Thank you

Seagullicarus’s Profile PhotoYam Yefet
Yes I agree. Resources will get more and more scarce. Tensions over borders, religions, regimes. It’s all looking a bit depressing. What I don’t follow is how places with low birth rates are going to cope with care for the elderly. China for instance. They’re trying to reverse the decline in fertility but people have become used to small families. I wonder how that’s going to play out.

hey americans (& non-americans who also have an answer)! how r u feeling abt the 2020 election? the democratic candidates so far? trump’s re-election campaign? (any predictions 🔮?)

HeyGuysWantStuffJustAsk’s Profile Photoeggsy
I've genuinely got compassion fatigue when it comes to the US politics. I feel tired from caring so much so I'm just kinda numb towards it all r/n. This happens to me every npw and then when I'm hopeful for and pushing for something that's positive imo but the thing that's negative imo ends up happening anyway.
I hope Trump doesn't get ellected again and I hope the future is more positive for immigrants in the US, minorities in the US, fertility rights in the US, people getting water where it's needed in the US, etc. etc.

Like maybe happy life ,or find the person you love always by your side, or the love between families then dead and you are happy because you done what do you want , and fight for it and finally get it ,and maybe something like that may be happy ending or us like fertility 😁

friend wants to have baby via sperm bank. i get its her decision, but i dont want to help. she wants baby shower, baby sitters, etc & i cant swallow this pill. We are 27, im changing jobs and shes just hitting strides in hers. Is there a way to tell her im not comfy w/o ruining frndship? no fertilit

“(sperm bank continued) she doesnt have fertility or health issues that are causing her to speed up process. 2 of our friends are getting married so im thinking this was fueling her desire for kid and i would wait to have chat but now shes speeding up her timeline to try to get pregnant.”
She’s your friend, not your child. Why are you taking her decision so personal? HER decision is not about you. How is this “a pill” for you to swallow? What is there for YOU to be comfy with?
If you don’t want to throw a baby shower or babysit, then don’t. But you’re not a very good friend. Like you’ll only throw a baby shower or baby sit if you condone the way and age at which she gets pregnant? That’s super controlling and a trash POV.
Look, your friend is grown and entitled to make horrendous decisions if that’s what she wants to do. She’s 27. It’s not like she’s 17. Weird that 27 is considered young for having a child.
If YOU think 27 is too young, then YOU should not have a child.
Is there something else going on here? Do you feel left behind because your friends are marrying and having children and you’re in job transition?

but sh's a biological male right? i'm really confused, because i swear to god when i first watched her she had a male body lol

I understand that it can be difficult for ppl to understand the difference between genotype & phenotype.
.
When u & I were fetuses, although u have XY chromosomes & I XX, up to the 6th week of gestation we were both phenotypical females, then ur SRY gene on ur Y chromosome at the 6th week gave orders to ur body to create a testis, at week 7 we r slightly different, I don't have a testis because I don't have a new order that changed the course of my phenotypical development, I continue to be as the original construction plan intended, a female.
.
U on the other hand with orders from ur SRY gene, developed a testis & by week 9 ur testis (still in ur abdomen not in a scrotum yet) produced the male hormones, androgens, these hormones travelled in ur blood, & started to bind to (receptors) giving all kinds of orders that will form male phenotypical characteristics, it will make a male in body & it will affect ur brain to feel like a male, if u r lucky ur genotype (XY) will be consistent with ur phenotype (appearance) + ur brain gender identity.
.
Now there is a syndrome called (complete androgen insensitivity) in which the receptors allover ur body that respond to the orders of androgens are defective, in such case when androgen is travelling in ur blood after week 9 as a fetus & through out ur whole life, It's ignored, no cell responds, not body nor brain, the fetus continues as a female, with normal female external genitals, female brain, & not just any female, a very feminine female, a normal female has some androgen (male hormones) in her blood, small amounts that later causes some hair distribution like axillary hair, but the syndrome allows not a drop of androgen to work & all of it is converted to estrogen, 100% estrogen, turning that genotypical male, into a beautiful female, smooth skin, voice, no body hair, normal external genitals, she just can't have children because of her genotype, but some genotypical females (XX) can't have children also, so fertility doesn't disqualify a sex, so what is she? A male or female?
.
A famous case in my own university of a professor who married a beautiful woman but had no children with her, took her to a Dr to solve the issue, he realised he was married to a genotypical male, but she is a phenotypical female, & cannot be anything else, androgen doesn't work For her, she feels like a female, looks like a female, her hormones r more feminine than a normal female!
.
The professor wanted to know the religious opinion! Is he a sinner if he still married to her knowing she's a genotypical male! Al azhar gave the answer, they don't care about genotype, she's female, and so did science, she's female.
.
A pathology professor told us the story when he explained the syndrome, u learn from that, ur a male not only because of ur Y chromosome, ur hormones had a major role, Natalie is taking female hormones, later, surgery, becoming a phenotypical female, she can do that in the 21st century.

I'm very disappointed in Santa. A little boy wrote him, to ask him for a baby brother for Christmas. And Santa writes back, and says "Send me your mom" I would never have believed it. But I read this on the internet. So it has to be true. Does this disappoint you as well?

Bocepous’s Profile PhotoRobin Hood
Tsk, tsk, tsk. I feel you are being too cynical and showing blatant distrust for Santa. I suspect he must have an awesome fertility clinic up at the North Pole.
You know, the Scandinavians are socially conscious, generous people, and the Danes in particular are renowned sperm donors. Poor Santa just wanted to give the woman the best medical treatment... and here you go spoiling things.
P.S. Did you know that polar bears might have very special pregnancies? Be able to do things that most animals don't. The North Pole is special for child-bearing, I'm telling ya.

I meant The idea itself "off the grid" as a life style ... and yes, it is ridiculous if it's done because of "conspiracy craziness" and all :)

IDC about it either way. More important is the rapid population growth and relatively high fertility levels in the world's least developed nations and rising life expectancy elsewhere. These increases are putting great pressures on food and water resources and planetary health in general.

Mistletoe has been linked to fertility since ancient times, and became part of Xmas celebrations in the 1700s. The serving classes of Victorian England popularised the tradition of kissing under it. If there were no mistletoe species left in the world, what would you replace it with to kiss under?

We want the same things. Talk about it often marriage, baby, family and church. We are best friends. Good partnership at home. Just no sex. I thought it would pass but it has not. We have prayed to become intimate. I asked to go to fertility clinic he says no. I have been thinking about cheating.

What is the issue? There’s a reason y’all aren’t having sex. Something is very ungood about the POV of the relationship with one or both of y’all.
Your description sounds like you want to have the sex, and it’s him shutting it down. So is he attracted to you? Can he get it up? Is he into women? Something is amiss. You have to figure out what that is in order for him to share the peen.
And he knows what it is, you have to find a way to get him to tell you. Have you suggested therapy?
Don’t cheat. Leave if you’re that unhappy and it’s not working. Cheating just makes everything messy.

Hubs wants to move to mid west for new job, I don’t (who does?). We just moved 3 yrs ago to DC & it’s been great but he isn’t happy with his job. We were planning to start a family nxt yr w/fertility trmnt but this will push back plans. To move or not to move? What about resentment towards each oth?

There's no right answer. Only the series of compromises and exchanges that you are BOTH willing to make to have each other's priorities/wants/needs met and build a life together.
Job frustration is common. Is he not able to find a new job in the city you currently live in? Will delaying the fertility treatment significantly compromise your chances of having a family? Or delay? There's a difference.
Resentment depends on the other options and the compromises. If no one feels like they are heard/gaining anything or their dreams/goals are denied entirely that's where the resentment sets in. Try not to let it get to that point.

hey iris, so my boyfriend and i are planning to have sex soon and i really want to but im scared that i'll get pregnant. he said he'd use a condom but im still scared that i'll get pregnant but i really want to have sex. he isn't forcing me, he told me he'll wait for when im ready. any advice???

sigh this is why we need good sex ed at school... yes there can be accidents but i have never ever had a pregnancy scare and neither have a lot of girls i know who have protected sex. even if the condom breaks (not that frequent) it doesnt mean 100% actually not even 80% pregnancy. dont use vaseline with a condom (it can disintegrate it) or other things that arent personal lubricant/saliva. do you know your menstrual cycle? try having protected sex when ure infertile. google fertility awareness method. youre so scared because u werent taught enough about this stuff. believe it or not its not that easy to get pregnant but also not that hard. theres also the pull out method and he can do that while wearing a condom too. please please do some research. a lottt of ppl get pregnant solely because they have very little idea about sex and prevention and arent careful or smart about it.

The question of the day asks us to PAP of our Easter bunny .. What ever has a bunny got to do with Easter? 🐰🐰

SophiePinkie’s Profile PhotoSophie
Well, Easter was originally a pagan spring fertility festival called Eastra.
Rabbits are extremely fertile creatures. Did you know that a doe can get pregnant again within a few days of giving birth? So theoretically she could have 10 new litters of kits every single year if she gets pregnant immediately after each one.
When you think of how many dozens or even hundreds of rabbits that would produce over time, it's no wonder that rabbits have become so closely associated with Easter.

If time travel were possible, which period of world history would you like to return to? Why? On your time travels, you can take five objects to show people what life is like towards the beginning of the 21st century. What five objects would you take? Why?

I'm feeling adventurous today, so I'm going to go back 30,000 years or so to the last ice age and hang out with the hunter-gatherers who ate mammoth. I've read a lot of speculation about what their lives were like, and I'd really like to know whose theories are correct.
Some people think that they might have worshipped a female deity, possibly even the earth herself, because of some figurines and other items that archeologists have found over and over again in that part of the world. It would be so interesting to see if that theory was right (and also to see mammoths in person).
I'm going to assume that I'd automatically be provided with suitable clothing, food, weapons, tents, and other basic materials to keep me alive until I met up and settled in with whichever tribe(s) I was destined to cross paths with.
So I would bring the following items with me:
1) Medication like Clomid and birth control pills. (I've decided they count as one thing since they affect the same part of the human body. LOL.).
We had almost no way to control our fertility for the vast majority of human history. Imagine how ancient people would react if I had magic medicine that helped women avoid or achieve pregnancies depending on what they wanted to do with their bodies. It would change so many things for the better.
2) Antibiotics.
I've read that an extremely high number of prehistoric adults died from injuries sustained from what scientists assume were probably nasty hunting injuries. Some of those deaths could be prevented if we nipped dangerous infections in the bud.
3) The written word.
I'd bring a history book with me to teach them the concept of writing as well as show them some of what's happened in my past/their future. Then I'd try to get their language(s) down in written form as well. Wouldn't it be amazing if we knew exactly what at least some humans were doing 30,000 years ago? Think of all of the histories, names, and discoveries that could be preserved for the future.
4) A polaroid camera.
It would introduce the idea of modern art. It would also be very cool to see how they reacted to having their picture taken once I'd explained that it was harmless.
5) The Bill of Rights, or some other, similar document.
I wonder how human history would have evolved differently if people had believed from the beginning that everyone is born with certain inalienable rights? I'd like to imagine that slavery and other forms of oppression might never have been invented if we knew from the start that everyone has equal worth.
I'd also hope that the bill of rights might save neanderthals from going extinct if humans turned out to be partially responsible for that. That might be pushing this concept a little too far, though. :)

What is the origin of Valentine's Day? (Why do we celebrate Valentine's Day?) Do you make any special food for Valentine's Day? Do you know anyone that has become engaged or married on Valentine's Day? Would you want to get engaged or married on a holiday? Why or why not?

The history of Valentine's Day is obscure, and further clouded by various fanciful legends. The holiday's roots are in the ancient Roman festival of Lupercalia, a fertility celebration commemorated annually on February 15. Pope Gelasius I recast this pagan festival as a Christian feast day circa 496, declaring February 14 to be St. Valentine's Day. (Courtesy of Google, I had no idea. I would've assumed it has to do with celebrating a saint). I think we celebrate just to have another "holiday" or occasion of sorts to get to go out, exchange gifts, make a big deal out of something. I don't do anything particularly special, I won't be. My friend got engaged on Valentine's Day. I wouldn't want to personally, I feel like it's expected or commercial. I don't know, I'm picky lol.

They are both pagan holidays actually
Christmas I think it supposed to be the winter solstice and Easter is celebrating the Goddess of fertility (cant remember her name off the top of my head)
The Christian Church stole the holidays tho lol
