"Movies have gotten worse" Would you agree or disagree? Why? 🎬

TobbeAsks’s Profile PhotoTobbe
I think sometimes people think more about how they can make the maximum amount of money possible by turning what should have been one movie into two and they put a bunch of fillers in that aren't crucial to bulk them out. I think they go overboard on the sequels these days and it kills the excitement for me once they give up good storylines to put another film out just cause people liked the other ones. The graphics have got better as well as quality of the films but I agree, sometimes the script and plot seem rushed and it makes the films unenjoyable.

I have the impression that this generalizing statement refers first and foremost to the mainstream Hollywood setting. At least I can't think of any comparable ensemble that is so frequently in flux and subject to criticism.
But I would basically differentiate between different film producers, film types (real or animated) and countries. Personally, I watch very different films; German, Japanese, Chinese, Korean, French and don't leave it at the USA alone.
Moreover, this criticism should refer to different parameters of film production: Plot, directors, script, excessive use of CGI effects, camera work, acting performance, etc.
"Back then" technology was different and you didn't have as much leeway in development as you do today.
Miyazaki, for example, in his Ghibli films wants to preserve the time-honored tradition of hand-drawn production, which involves a lot of effort and work, but achieves a beautiful effect, which is why he got into a dispute with his son, who wants to resort to computer animation and modernize the whole thing.
I would look at the whole thing more differentiated and not necessarily put the earlier film production as the ultimate in the film industry and rather put it into perspective with the present.
Nowadays, a lot of garbage is produced that is just supposed to look fancy, but only serves as entertaining entertainment (see "Ready Player One"). However, there's nothing reprehensible about that either. Not every film has to live up to a standard of profundity and artistic excellence. Sometimes shallow entertainment is desirable and good, only it should be criticized appropriately.
There are enough modern-day treasures that shouldn't fail on the premise that movies are invariably bad these days; especially if you move away from the Hollywood bubble and look at movies outside the mainstream.

I think these are mostly problems of my perception - it seems to me that films have become easier. Dumber. As if no one else wants to play riddles with the audience. Although predictable plots have been in films before, I just treat them with nostalgia (lol, I wasn't even born at that time, but let's call it nostalgia).
You can look at the last answer, for the last 5 years I consider only two films out of more than two hundred released to be worthwhile. And it's not even the "awesome" level (again, because of the script, I mostly enjoyed audiovisual solutions), rather, I would like to see this as the norm for films. We have learned how to make beautiful pictures, why not learn how to write unexpected sсripts?
However, I dig in too much. I often forget that a movie, a book, and a tv series are too different genres that tell a story in different ways. And there are really a lot of good series coming out now.

🎥 I think the technology has obviously become more sophisticated, but the storytelling and acting etc has probably remained much the same, all things considered.
🍿 For me, a minority of films - from any era - have always been great, with the remaining majority ranging from ok to poor.
🚀 (As a side note, I’ve just finished watching the tv series Cowboy Bebop and I thought it was great 🙂)

Is there a movie you watch can over and over again and never get bored of?

"Amelie" is one of those films I can watch and rewatch time and time again and still enjoy it just as much as I did on my very first viewing. I just find it absolutely charming. It's a gorgeous little love story that never fails to put me in a positive mood!

What's your Yearly routine for Christmas Eve?

We don't do much during the day besides finishing up wrapping, and maybe some Christmas baking, or maybe I'll have work. Around 4/5 pm we take presents for our relatives from under the tree and load them in the car, then drive to my aunt's where we have dinner and open gifts. My cousin and I are best friends and have a "goofy Christmas Eve selfie" tradition. The food is amazing, and everything is so cozy and jolly and familial. Then, around 10/11 pm my family packs up the presents we'd received and we head home. We're met there by grandma (she spends Christmas at our house) then open one gift; always a pair of pajamas to wear that night. Then, my little brother writes a letter to Santa, we lay out the cookies, and gather together to read "The Night Before Christmas" once before bed. Christmas Eve is undoubtedly one of my favourite days of the year.
I am fortunate enough to have 4 parents equaling large quantities of family on each side. The day begins with my younger siblings sleeping over at my house to help pass the time on this long anticipated day. There is last minute wrapping and enjoying any Christmas films or specials that I have yet to watch or need to watch once more. From there I head to my mother's to help her prepare for the Annual Christmas Eve party at her house that includes my Step dad's mother's side of the family. I then head over to my dad's grandmother's house where we indulge in the most delicious chicken tortilla soup that I look forward to all year! We exchange stories and remember family who we have lost over the years, which may sound dreary but it makes everyone smile to hear stories bringing them to life yet again. We say are good byes and head back to my mother's for the latter half of the party. As we arrive the younger children are often opening their new toys from aunts and uncles and grandma and grandpa. From there we partake in the white elephant gift exchange where my family takes turns opening everyone's secret gifts and fighting over who gets to go first, because they also get to go last and pick their final present. One of my aunts crawls around placing every last bow she can find on the top of her head as my other aunt sits and laughs with my mother. Everyone enjoys each other's company and as the night continues we watch over the children as they grow anxious for Santa. Then as the party winds down and once the gifts are exchanged my siblings and I find the gift that comes every Christmas Eve. They are pajamas from Santa's Elves. They come every year and even though I am grown and no longer sleep in the house the 'elves' still manage to bring me and also my fiancé our pjs and slippers. We then say our good bye's to the family, knowing I will see my mom and step dad the next morning, and my fiancé and I head into the dark. We drive slowly on the way home so that we may enjoy the Christmas lights shining bright.

Poproszę jakąś wypowiedź o Zendayi 💟

ryujinpl1’s Profile Photo류진 Shin Ryujin | ITZY Poland
“She was so helpful in the process of my life changing, because not only are you making big films and you’re traveling the world, but everyone starts to know who you are. And you have to behave differently. You have a responsibility to kind of uphold this idea of being a role model to young kids. And, arguably, she’s the best at that. You can’t really find anything against Zendaya, she’s kind of like the perfect person. It was so wonderful to have someone like her in my corner, to help me grow through that process … Having her as a friend has been so valuable to the success and happiness of my career and life.”

Have the people close to you not received your truths in a way that made you comfortable? Could they have done anything differently to help make you more open to communicating with them?

Most people don't really understand me. I come across as too dramatic or too emotional. I especially hate it when someone assumes I watch too many films and/or live in a fantasy world, it makes me offended. Just because you can't imagine feelings things the way I do doesn't make them u real or fictional. What's fantasy for others is reality for me. It's very offensive.

Do you care about money/luxury?

I started out very materialistic, turned into a hippy, then realized I wanted my own stuff. I don't care so much about whether everything in my life is luxurious, in fact I find most of that stuff tacky, but just living average nice requires quite a bit of money and work, so I do that cause I like things.
Once I have all the things I need, along with stuff that fulfils my interests and hobbies, I don't really need any more luxuries. Obviously, some things would be nice to have but they're not a necessity for me, or something which I should strive towards if I'm already content with less. In the future, I'd ideally like to live in a decent sized property which isn't crammed, have a car, at least one dog and enough money to travel once every couple of years. Also, I'd like to be able to make purchases on the things I enjoy without them being a setback. I don't think I'm asking for too much at all. I don't really get the appeal of big houses or fancy cars. They're expensive and they require a lot of upkeep. I'd rather have a bunch of tiny houses scattered across the globe and live debt free. I believe in good quality items, but I don't believe in excess. Like shoes, I have about 10 good quality pairs. I don't believe in buying something new if something old can be refurbished. I'm definitely the odd one out in my family who feels this way.
There are a few things that make me feel happy inside. Tea, nice teacups, pretty japanese anime films, nice blankets. I live in a small aframe in colorado that I LOVE. I'm convinced if I won't a bunch of money I would mostly just use it to travel or pursue some new hobbies. Not really interested in fancy cars or houses.
