#hangouts

Before, I'd choose a movie, because I'm lazy and I love to see the combination of great music, picture, and actors play all in front of my eyes. Unfortunately, there are not many movies that impress me lately, actually the opposite. The more new movies I watch, the less I have a feeling of watching something again. So, I choose a book 📖

Cat. Even though dogs love their owners more, I still feel more love for cats. Maybe because in Ukraine, cats are more popular to have, maybe because I never had a dog, but I don't want to get something that I don't know how to take care of 😼

A house, because it's a personal property, where you have your own private space and more room for creativity on how to make that space that you live in, your own place 🏠

Summer. Even though I learned to appreciate winter more, I still feel more disabled and like I can't do much during this season, but the summer is a season of vacations, hangouts, warm sun, and longer days ☀️

Moon. It always attracts me with its light and shape. So beautiful, so lonely... 🌛

Walk in a forest. I feel like I connect more with nature and myself. I become isolated from the city noises and it's more peaceful and quiet 🌳🌳🌳

Tea. Even though I used to favor coffee more, I feel like I've become a tea girl ever since I moved to the USA. Now, It's my comfort drink 💖

Hugs. A kiss doesn't always express love, especially nowadays, but hugs are comforting, give you trust in someone, and it just warms my heart 🤗☺️

The worst thing to become popularized in the last decade is the concept of extrovert and introvert. These things are not exclusive to each other and most people are not just one or the other. It's a spectrum that were pointed in and most importantly its a spectrum that can change due to a plorthea of circumstances.
Yip. I'm super introverted and love my alone time. But I'm also a massive party animal. I DJed at clubs/festivals for years as well. But I legit hate performing, especially in front of big crowds.
I always have fun with my friends from back home no matter what we’re doing. I also have fun with my brothers like we can talk and do random stuff (without alcohol) for hours and still have a good time. I’ve also realised that after COVID I’ve become much more family oriented compared to what I was before, not sure why. Yeahh, that makes sense. I feel like as I’m getting older, I’ve begun to love my ‘me time’. When I was in my first year at uni, I practically spent every single minute of everyday with friends. I only came to my room to sleep. I would NEVER do that now.
Even when I'm dancing I prefer to find a spot for myself so I'm not in a crowd. I'm usually the one on a speaker or something.
So I’m 24 and I loveee partying, clubbing, drinking, etc. When friends make plans to go partying, I’m always in. When I go for night outs, I genuinely have so much fun. You know when friends wanna leave the club early? I never do cuz I’m always wanting to stay till the end. However, I’m also an introvert. After a long day I legit fantasize about watching Netflix and chilling by myself in my PJs. So basically, I don’t really enjoy regular hangouts with my friends,as in going out to eat and stuff like that. If I’m doing something non party related, all I wanna do is leave so I can be alone doing my own thing. But while clubbing, I’m the opposite. Am I super weird for being an introvert that’s likes to party? It is absolutely ok. No one should feel forced to do something they don't want to do. There is a reason people go to clubs in a group so they can look out for each other. I think the biggest challenge for us as introverts is not how to avoid everything we don't like turning us into hermits. The challenge is to make sure we take the steps necessary to overcome these situations in a safe and fun way. Clubs too loud? Find a quieter public place. Dancing? Could that be just a insecurity? Find a way to dance home alone to build confidence. Approached by people.. Find a group with common interests that you can ease into. You are going to have to take baby steps to not only get over your trauma but to protect yourself from further problems. As a hermit myself I regret almost every day not taking a more proactive role in my life.

Often times if I hangout with friends or be around people I have to ask first. No one really asks me often if I want to hangout. It’s like once in a blue moon. I take myself out alone often and I even took a vacation by myself. But if I see friends online sharing photos of them partying or hanging around other people I get jealous. I ask myself “they could asked me to hang”. But recently I did some self reflection and came down to the conclusion that I often expect way too much from people. I can’t control how someone treats me and if someone wants me around they would ask me but if not I guess so be it. I have experienced this on and off in the past. The important thing to remember is that wanting to spend time with you is not always the deciding factor on whether or not you get called to hang out. the other friend may “need it more” or be more vocal about needing to hang out regularly, the group may live closer together, they may have planned this specific thing for a small group etc. You said you spend a lot of time alone and go on holiday alone. Your friends may have got the impression that you need alone time more than they do, so they might be shy to ask you to hang. I actually brought this up with my friends a few years ago and they had no idea that they had made me feel this way. It was actually that they never organised anything, it was another friend who I was less close to who set everything up for them! At that point I decided that I have to like my friends more than I dislike having to be the one to initiate things, and became the one who calls and organises hangouts. "Loving What Is" by Byron Katie taught me that living a life where I am disappointed because others don't live up to my expectations only makes me crazy. If it is important enough for me to care about it is important enough for me to act upon. If hanging out with your friends is important to you, and you're organized enough to be the one to make that happen kudos to you for having the courage to seek out what you want/need. What a strength to have!

1. Complete a puzzle: The more pieces the better! Feeling extra saucy? Take on a Rubik's Cube. More of a word person? Crossword puzzle!
2. Start a journal or blog. Sure, it can be about the coronavirus, but it could also be about a specific interest from chess to cheese.
3. If it won't bother your neighbors: Dust off that old instrument and practice.
4. Text all your exes just in case you have one more thing you wanted to get off your chest.
5. Write poetry. Perhaps you can craft a haiku for Mother's Day, or something without a specific structure. Just try it!
6. Watch all the really long movies you’ve avoided until now.
7. Download Duolingo, or a similar app, and teach yourself a foreign language.
8. Finally read “Infinite Jest,” “Les Miserables” or even “The Stand.” Go all in and read “Ulysses.” You got this.
9. Meditate. Try lying down with your eyes closed, palms up and while focusing on your breath. Or spend 20 minutes sitting crosslegged and repeat a soothing word to yourself in your head. (The latter is more like transcendental meditation.)
10. Face masks, moisturizer, oh my! Treat yourself to a 10-step skin care routine you don’t have time for during a normal work week.
11. Look at pictures of puppies.
12. Put together the most attractive charcuterie board possible, but you can only use foods you already have in your fridge and cupboard.
13. Take note from "Tangled" star Rapunzel, who has an entire song about how she's spent her days alone in a castle. Activities included in her ditty: Ventriloquy, candle-making, papier-mâché and adding a new painting to her gallery.
14. Write actual letters to family and friends. After that? Write thank-you notes to service people who you remember went out of their way for you.
15. Learn calligraphy. YouTube can help.
16. Finally read the rules to those long and intense board games you've never played with the family. Encourage the family to play.
17. Put on a soap opera. Mute the sound. Create your own dialogue.
18. Have a space in your home where all of the tupperware goes? Organize it and actually match lids to containers.
19. Try on all your clothes and determine whether they “spark joy” á la Marie Kondo.
20. Better yet, go through this process with your junk drawer and supply shelves.
21. Have a roommate meeting about how to be more considerate of one other, especially while you will likely be spending more time together. Bring baked goods.
22. Bake those goods.
23. Watch the films that won Oscars for best picture.
24. Watch films that won Independent Spirit Awards for best picture.
25. Watch films that critics say should have won those aforementioned awards.
26. Read all the New Yorker issues piled on your desk.
27. Will Tom Hanks into recovery from coronavirus by watching every Tom Hanks movie chronologically.
28. Knit or crochet.
29. Use Skype, FaceTime, Google Hangouts or Marco Polo to video chat with your long-distance friends.
