Brooo i have been reading canadian history since grade 4 and i had history courses till grade 12.. Canadian culture only revolved around aboriginal ppl and first nation ppl.. which was lost decades back by British taking over and red Indians .. since than Canada has always been a multicultural country. Canada is known for its multicultural nationality. Canada doesn’t have his own culture or identity.. canada is made from different race and culture. First nation and aboriginal ppl still exist but rarely..
It seems like 100% of people on askfm fit one or more of these categories: a) at least 1 mental health disorder b) history of childhood or early 20s trauma c) education less than a college degree or trade certificate. Are you an exception?
I guess not, no. These things are rather common in life though, and in relation to the first two; I don’t think anyone truly escapes childhood and early adulthood scot-free, so to speak.
Some people claim that history is irrelevant because it is based upon faulty perceptions, bias, racism, lies, manipulation, deceit and propaganda. But... how can we understand the present if we cannot remember the past? Isn't our culture built upon accummulation of past events that contributed to our current knowledge and understanding? For example, how could we acquire langauge if the past was indeed irrelevant as some propose? The fact is that many of the inventions of the past enable us to be productive and useful in the present i.e. the wheel, combustion engine, computer, radio, rubber, glass, fossil fuel, nuclear energy, light bulb, electricity, internet, airplane, modern medicine, langauge, math, science, music, art, film, etc. Without the past, one could argue that our contemporary society, appliances and inventions would not exist and humans would still be living in caves and grunting or drawing primative pictures to communicate. I reject the notion that history is irrelevant. >MarcusQuote: "To control a people you must first control what they think about themselves and how they regard their history and culture. That’s hard to say!! Most cathedrals I’ve visited are absolutely stunning, and I remember being especially taken with Rouen cathedral. Even the museums in London are very striking, and the Natural History Museum comes to mind. The craftsmanship of the intricate sculptures encased in the structure of the building is amazing; it’s such attention to detail. Plus it’s very gothic which is always a win, haha! (Pic isn’t mine) :)
I love learning about ancient civilisation, particularly of ancient Egypt, Rome, Greece, etc. I’m genuinely happy to learn about any period of history, in truth! My favourites would be the Viking era, the Renaissance in particular, the Age of Enlightenment, the Baroque and Rococo movements… basically anywhere in history up until the 1900s, aha. I still find the latter interesting, but we’ve all been educated about that the most and it’s more “recent” than the other time frames :)As to why, basically I just enjoy fangirling over the art, architecture, the music, the changes in fashion and how it was influenced by societal progress and development, etc etc. I just find life back then fascinating, really :)

Just curious since it was my favorite toy growing up, do you have any history with LEGO? There any specific sets or themes you like(d) especially? 🏰🏴☠️🚒🚀
I was growing up with LEGO ☺️ My brother and I owned a large box with a Pirate's ship, and many small ones. But my favorite set was the one that I got for my birthday. It was a set that could build 3 different houses, and each had its cool things inside and could be open in different ways from the outside ☺️ I've been trying to buy this set again, because I used to love rebuilding those houses over and over again, but I guess it's not in sale for a long time 😔
Two of them (Biertan / Birthälm and Prejmer / Tartlau). Very impressive and I would like to see the rest. As I understood, they were built by the Saxons and founded by the Teutonic Knights. Each one is a history lesson in the religious and political machinations of their eras (13th to 16th centuries). They are incredible and if you have an opportunity to visit, I would strongly recommend Corvin and Bran castles too:
Romeo and Juliet... A three day fling between a 13 year old and a 17 year old who kill themselves and four others.
And is deemed one of the greatest romances in history... why?
Maybe because there are several themes in Shakespeare's tragedy and they have resonated with many people over the years: rivalry, friendship, intrigue, religion, prejudice, irony and the complexities of people or events and life in general. The nuanced peculiarities of an imperfect world are on full display and while the ending is tragic, it is more than some syrupy slop with a predictable conclusion - they lived happily (n)ever after. Subtract the emotional dependence(?) angle which is coupled with raging teenage hormones and it would still be a scintillating series. I wouldn't miss a single episode. ❤️Romeo and Juliet (1884) / Sir Francis Bernard Dicksee
Hello, I am from Slovakia and Sweden is one of my dream countries. I would like to know, how would you rate your country. Is it good place to live? Also, what is your major?
Sweden can be amazing! 🇸🇪We have things I think the whole world should embrace, like free higher education and healthcare. Students even get PAYED in benefits to study, not much but still 💵There is gorgeous nature, which is made easier to explore and experience thanks to laws which allows you to walk on private property as long as you are respectful. Sweden has a rich history which is reflected in the beautiful old architecture in most Swedish city centres. Many palaces and mansions can also be found in the countryside 🏰It's also a country where you're truly free to be who you want to be, cause of the longstanding separation between religion and state. Some of the best pastries can be found here too, from princess cakes and chocolate balls to "semlor" 🍰But there are times when it's not so amazing. There's been an increased amount of violent crime and substance abuse recently. In the town where I live it's apparently very easy to get a hold of dr*gs if you want to. I don't notice it in my regular life though, except for the ways my student organization tries to crack down on it. I think it very much has to do with what kinds of circles you're in. You also often hear about shootings and gang wars in the news 😨It may not be perfect but comparitively speaking, I still think Sweden is a great place to live. I'd be hard pressed to come up with many better alternatives 😊And I'll soon have my bachelor's degree in urban planning! 🎓
These are the main ones that I can remember off the top of my head :) ~ There are around 175 kings known today, with The Great Pyramid of Giza being attributed to Khufu. The rough time span of these kings are 3400 years, with it being split into three parts; The Old Kingdom, The Middle Kingdom and the New Kingdom. (I’d have to check my notes for the exact dates for these).~ In between the time periods of these kingdoms, existed a Predynastic and Protodynastic period. This is essentially when times were rather volatile and were the intermediate periods before everything stabilised and kicked off again, so to speak. ~ The Egyptians kept records of their history and often amended it/updating rulers of the past. The most well known documents are the Palermo Stone and the Abydos King List. It was later recorded in Greek, when that become the dominant written and spoken language, but this is relatively recent in terms of their own history.~ One of my favourite facts of their chronology: an Egyptian priest (his name escapes me atm) in the early 300BCs included time periods where there were existing rulers before the Pharaohs, consisting of The Gods, Demigods and the Spirits of the Dead. After their time of ruling, then humans followed (though I guess Pharaohs were seen more as a stepping stone between a regular mortal and a demigod, in a way). I could keep going, but I’d have to reread my notebook for the more in-depth facts on their chronology within each of the Kingdoms, the rulers, etc. Tbf, my favourite part was going over their mythology which I knew some of, and how that related back into and influenced society at that time! (Through their art, talisman and amulets, beliefs, burial practices, etc) :)
Could someone tell me exactly how this app works? Are personal questions just for me or are personal questions just personal questions? I'm so confused. I only know it's for me if someone addresses me. Then I ask questions and they don't get posted...
Askfm can be confusing and take some time to get use to. > Are personal questions just for me? Yes Select the "Inbox" and you will discover two soft tabs labeled "All" and "Personal." General questions (shoutouts) destined for ALL askfm users within your country will appear here under the ALL tab. Personal questions designated for you will appear under "Personal." Personal questions defined by a predefined list, where you are a subscribed member of said list will also appear under Personal. An example of this would be a text message broadcast from a friend to multiple friends included in predefined list.> I ask questions and they don't get posted... Using the plus sign (+) in top right, you can ask questions using two methods: 1. Ask People - these are known as anonymous shoutout questions which are broadcast to all active members of askfm within your country as defined by your Network IP address. Shoutouts only get posted when a user receives and responds to your message. 2. Ask Friend allows you to select which "friends" you want to receive your queston. You can also ask specific users questions by selecting your "Friends" tab located on Home menu and select "ask me anything." Whether or not these questions are anonymous or not depends upon if the "ask anonymously" soft button located under the "ask" window is selected or not. History Lesson: When askfm was first introduced in June 2010 it was advertized as an anonymous text messaging application. This appealed to many people who wanted anonymity and wanted to roleplay where they could assume fake names, characters, etc. (note: most of these users left askfm between 2016 and 2018) because askfm was sold and implemented strict rules that prohibited "offending" people. So essentially conversations involving sex, politics, religion have been banned. The other problem that occurred as a result of this attack on freedom of speech is that askfm users are afraid to ask controversial questions because they know their account will be suspended. Once in a blue moon I might receive a decent question worthy of a response, but most of the questions, in my opinion, are uninteresting (which is why many askfm users have abandoned their accounts). To entertain myself, what I do is post my own questions and then I answer my own question. This allows me to challenge myself. In a way it is similar to playing chess with yourself or playing golf and competing against yourself or perhaps recording music where you play all instruments and record all tracks individually by yourself.I hope you enjoy you askfm experience and are able to avoid receiving askfm warnings or suspensions that are mostly without merit and are a result of other "woke users" submitting fallacious reports to askfm administrators who NEVER take the time to review and determine whether or not these erroneous reports are valid or not. They simply send you a warning and then suspend your account. /A
I'd love to own a house with land, run my own escape room place, travel to quite a few places, visit all the museums and places with history that I can, there's a couple of projects I am thinking about at the moment too. Before all of that, passing my driving test!
Yes, I believe that WWIII has begun. Why? America and it's EEU allies are attempting to impose their Globalist agenda upon the world and upon sovereign Nations who believe in culture, tradition, history, self-determination, Faith, Family, Freedom and national sovereignty. These nations are collectively resisting the WEF, the WHO, the United Nations and Western democracies attempts to create a New World Order. They are forming alliances with one another to sustain their economies, financial systems and their right to exist. I believe that in the end, these Globalist tyrants will be defeated and the Globalist attempts to create a tyrannical One World Government will fail.
It's more the right to medical history. I have no information about my biological parents medical history. So there's no knowing if I could be prone to anything. Sometimes it is made known to the adoptive parents, but in other cases (like mine), it wasn't. That being said I do know my parents names, where I was born, etc

This is how it happened in that party club where everything was rumbling disco music, drinks everywhere, women and men feeling like experiencing an adventure of an unforgettable night... everything being so scandalous and ordinary. At least one thing seemed to be new on a day like this. That peculiar lady with strong red hair who could easily captivate too many interested glances. Even the bartender who was supposed to keep the composure behind the bar was inevitably attracted to her. However, nothing seemed to go to majors, passing normally. She would soon receive a cocktail, a choice that surprised the bartender himself. And when the drink reached its owner, a new individual came to the side. He gave off an intimidating aura with a distinctive eyepatch and a fancy suit, but also looked... defeated? with trampled pride? his expression of disbelief was quite visible.⠀⠀ ❝...Give me the best you have,❞ a thick male voice came out asking for something close to what Nova was greeted with; a strong drink that might be able to send the human mind soaring. He seemed want to try to forget about something.

Real men only like football. Ahh Being a Ronaldo fan isn't easy trust me, watching him play every single match week in week out since 2012. That pain is unbearable, seeing him suffering, it seriously hurts a lot. My man, my GOAT Cristiano Ronaldo Dos Santos Aveiro, you would be remembered as one of the Greatest in the history of football.
If you could create a new holiday that doesn’t currently exist, what would you call it? What date would said holiday be on? What traditional food, music, activities, etc, do you think would be associated with it? 🎉🥂🎈🎂
I think I'd want something Thanksgiving-esque in Sweden, without the problematic history of course Haha We have honestly zero holidays to really speak of during fall. "Mickelsmäss" was a holiday that occured on the 29th of September in old Sweden, with harvest festivals playing a big part in it. So I'd want to reintroduce it and make it a day when you also gather the family to have a delicious dinner! Preferably with turkey and other thanksgiving-esque food, just thinking of it makes my mouth water 🤤🍁
Pastel, horror, comfortable. I.e I love pastel colors, I love horror so much so I have a tattoo. I prefer wearing leggings and tshirts , I love musicals and history pieces, I also love gaming so.
More twins are being born now then any other time in history due to the fact people are waiting until they are older to have kids ; you have a higher chance at having twins while pregnant when you’re in your 30+.
how is that a fault of Babar? match sy pehle hi lag raha tha ye hona ha, flat track bnaya ha, highway road bana diya ha pitch, and we all know what English batsmen are capable of and after Bazz became their coach and Stokes became their captain, they are playing with aggressive mindset.
if you could see 100 years from now for a moment and see that there is only one world state where all people are united, where there are no borders, and people who are defeated by death always remain young, what would you do
What you have described is what the World Economic Forum and United Nations is currently implementing. Fortunately, I believe millions of people throughout the world are beginning to understand the potential for global tyranny and are resisting the efforts of the Globalist Billionaires and their minions within government and the media want to establish a New World Order and One World Government. I also believe that the Globalist attempts to control the world will lead to WWIII. My hope is that these Globalist tyrants will ultimately fail and that sovereign nations will keep their national identity, borders, culture, history, language and their Faith, Family and Freedoms.“You Will Own Nothing & Be Happy” - Davos 2022 The Great Reset https://youtu.be/QOrS6buynAk
okay anonymous in that day i think i was absolutely beautiful …. happy and free…. beautiful fashion girl in my heart lived only joy I had my beautiful mom…., i wasn’t in love with anyone…. but i drove everyone crazy who saw me…. and what most interesting thing that fact only amused me….I always smiled at people and as people told me ( about me) my radiance illuminated the universes…. i was really happy…. really my friend and me we are went for a walk and this whole huge city was mine….people looked as if they saw a seventh wonder of the world …. my friend was neither beautiful nor ugly…. an ordinary girl…. I don’t know how she survived that day with ….( no of course she was happy too …) i mean all the attention even of the animals was mine ….! I shone and so we were standing with her and chatting about something in one place…. ( before shopping)where we’re fashion stores of the famous world brands I remember we were standing with her under the stairs and for some reason i didn’t even pay attention to the brand name…. when suddenly a tall …. very intelligent-looking man…. but already quite elderly approached us I remember he was wearing a cap and burberry scarf …. stylish and tall he come up and politely greeted me and asked do you know what means a this brand name I raised my head to read the name … it was boutique of the French brand Sublime…. and i replied that no…. I didn’t study French and I don’t know the history of the name of this brand then he said Sublime translated from French means beautiful like you …. i blushed so much …. i could say only thank you you know after that of course my friend told everyone and for very long time a lot of peoples called me Sublime….every day someone tells me about my beauty…. but for some reason I remembered these words….I really don’t even remember his face of that elderly man just silhouette and a scarf burberry when i start to remember this story it was so so beautiful words ….that’s why I don’t really like to tell stories about myself…. there’s only beauty in them and it may seem that i’m bragging…. but no… sometimes i even belittle my stories….!
Football is not our game we need at least 60 years of development just to qualify for the fifa world cup harh sports ap ka liya nahi hai xD. We didn't qualify for the second round for like 20 years of the main qualifying tu khel liya it will go down in history .
I mostly don't abuse in Public. I already had been into jail just by saying that he is responsible for all crisis I have studied history of Pakistan deeply, And it is on my finger tips According to my knowledge these few Generals have been ruling this country technically since 75 years by using the names (Shaheed, State, Qurbanian, border pr kharay rehty hain) and divided the mindset of this country into PTI, PMLN, PPP, TLP, JUI etc But now people have come to understand that they made each other fight from the beginning, And taking advantage of this, they have ruled over us. They had a habit of fooling people, 75 years they have fooled the people. Larai Is baat pr hui hai. Kay ye kehtay hain "IS BAAR YE QOUM BEWAQOOF Q NAHI BNI"
Have you ever come to a point where in life u see everything is falling apart. Your career, family, relations, ur loosing everything one by one.. life is becoming so harsh and tough as each day is passing by i mean for most of us.. for ppl struggling May Allah brings it easy for all of us❤️ Ameen🥺
Don't stress love:🎢 life is rollercoaster with ups and downs.and yesterday is history.. tomorrow is it mystery.. and today is a gift.. that's why it's called the present🎁
The Roman Colosseum. It was such a large project to build and the horror of the “entertainment” was fascinating. They even served snacks much as current stadiums sell people food today. The animals killed were butchered and the meat was server to the audience.
I like a lot of eras, and they’re all interesting (providing that you weren’t trying to survive any them in poverty). I have interest in ancient Mexico, ancient Sumeria/Mesopotamia etc, Celtic Britain and Ireland, Mediaeval Britain, the 16-1700s, the 1920s and the 1960s. But stories from any era can fascinate me. I could happily go back and live in the 1990s though, as that’s where my brain seems to have been stuck 🙂
Medieval times or Middle Ages. You have feuding kings and lords vying for power, knights in big sets of expensive armour with their unique codes of conduct, and peasants toiling in the fields as their neighbours die of plague! I also find it fascinating the era of Emperors, the Austrian Empire was one of the best ✨
Probably doesn't count... but can I say the jurassic period? xD Animals will always fascinate me more than the human race... and heck! Dinosaurs will always be one of the most fascinating things to me! There's still so much we don't know about them :3
1.👉era of baroque/rococo 17.-18. cent. because of fashion, art and buildings 2. middle of 19.cent. 👉because of fight of Slovaks for their independence from Austra-Hungary and for using Slovak language in schools and offices 🥰👍
The 1950s. Just the way people were dressed, the cars, the music, the bars. I love it all!🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸 If you rather receive video answers, please use #video in your question. Follow me on Twitch, Instagram, Facebook, Telegram, Tiktok, Snapchat and Geocaching under @NoraKitties
I find history in general very fascinating so it's difficult to pick. Ancient Egypt really catches my attention and maybe it's because their architecture is different or how advanced they were but I really enjoy learning more their history.
Middle ages because people would go years without washing themselves and I find this flabbergasting, I couldn’t go one day without taking a good warm bath. Also, women used to poison their husbands and got away with it 😂also, the modern ages, the gilded years, when drugs were legal 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Medieval for the fact that we don't actually know a lot from that time. There's very few records or surviving artefacts from that period in comparison to others so a lot of what we know is educated guessing!
You can choose to spend 12 hours in one of these environments: (1) Victorian England (2) A distant space-station city (3) an Elven forest (4) Ancient Rome (5) Aztec Mexico
There is 10% chance that you will experience your chosen place in poverty.
Which will you choose and why?
Man, I’d happily spend 12 hours in all of those environments!! It’s hard to choose… though granted, the idea of being in poverty in Victorian England would be pretty rough, but I’m such a fan of steampunk, so that period of time does appeal!I think it’s a toss up between Ancient Rome and an Elven forest. The latter because fantasy is my favourite genre to escape into, and being in what would feel like LOTR would be incredible! Ancient Rome would also be absolutely awe inspiring, to witness ancient civilisation at such a peak and experience the history in real time? That and to see the architecture/art… I think it’d blow my mind 🤣
Have you been to the Barber Institute, at Birmingham University? I know it’s a long way from where you live but it’s one of the finest centres of art history.
They will face many problems in many aspects :--Like lack of communication skills because of improved technology of social media. Lack of social skills in face to face communication. Since a lot of communication is digital.-They will not be rooted to their own traditional cultures. -Lack of resources too, from my thinking because as citizens we are overusing resources. -Their physical health n potential will be less as compared to our generation because as we see people use to remain in their own houses , no physical activity. -They will be unknown of the history of their country n not be able to enjoy all those days with nature-lack of patience or concept of waiting. Our kids have everything or almost everything Instantaneously. The concept of waiting for anything is almost physically painful for them-lack of conflict resolution. In our society kids are encouraged to get rid of toxic friends and stand their ground whenever anyone offends them. Unforgiveness is fashionable and holding a grudge is praised. Not to say people who are abusive or toxic shouldn’t be walked away from at times, but I believe this generation is being taught that carrying grudges is healthy and okay. in my opinion it’s not and forgiveness is always an option because in forgiveness comes freedom for the soul and mind.
