What do you do for a living

Job 1: I work at an outpatient facility for a hospital taking care of the elderly. I'm a med passer & a supervisor.
Job 2: I'm a dental assistant that works both chair side with the doctors &/or in the lab sterilizing the instruments.

When was the last time you went and saw a live performance? What did you see? 🎭🎤

TobbeAsks’s Profile PhotoTobbe
I was in fifth grade when I saw a live performance which was an opera performance and there were a bunch of instruments being played while some people on the stage were dancing in slow motion. It was a field trip that we went to and I was told to dress nicely that day. I never went to a live performance again but I still did have to watch a live performance online just recently because I’m taking a class called music & art and you have to watch composers play a bunch of instruments, while writing down/taking notes of the differences and similarities between the performances I watched.

What is the driving force that motivates you to get out of bed every morning?

Imagine you are an eagle falling down the sky. You have been hurt. You quickly lose blood. You are losing altitude. You are increasing in speed. Gravity is attracting you towards the center of the earth. You don’t have too much time left. It is during those moments of life emergency that you can turn your life around. When there is little time left, you find the strength in you to breathe another day.
Dig deep inside your soul, heart, and mind. You’ll find a reason to wake up another day. It must come from within. All the biochemistry in your body is like a concert of multiple instruments orchestrating a beautiful melody to give you the strength you need in your deepest moments.
You Don't have any cause! You don't need motivation you need to Embrace the melody and decide to live.

Which fictional world is your favorite? What makes it so great according to you? 🌌🏰

There's too many I find interesting to be able to pick a favourite, I'm afraid. I love the magic of Harry Potter, the runes and creatures of the Mortal Instruments series, the vampire lore of the House of Night series, the varies supernaturals and their interwoven lore in the Night World series, and the unique take on Wicca in the Sweep series. All of them are too individual to be able to choose a favourite.

It's difficult for me to give you an answer on what my favorite band is!!! I'll give you one that is among the absolute top: Queen. As kids, we had a punk-rock band called Brutalzone. We played in a basement. I played the electric guitar, but I certainly don't play at a professional level.

Do you know how to play any musical instruments?

Know how . . . . and ability are worlds apart . .. .
To know how, one has have MOTIVATION to seek & learn . . . . and practice ~ and practice with perseverance and dedication , leads to excellence . . .
I know keyboards . I read music , off the Stave
(I played piano-accordian and any keyboard [and the major & minor chords of the bass [buttons] on the former . . . . I don't feel I ever reached anything that could be even imagined as excellence . . . . not played for a long-long time ~)
The term 'know how' sits wrong with me ; its more 'knowing' ~ "can you play . . . " ~ like . . . . you might 'know how' to talk, even to a person . But communicating is a very different thing . . . when you know someone , communication is so much more meaningful & rich !

Hey Tobbe! First, please permit me to congratulate you on your recent accomplishment. 👍 ...now, to your question:
For the most part, through music. The electric guitar is my primary weapon of choice but I play other instruments too (bass, drums and synthesizers - not nearly as well but good enough to capture my ideas). I also write poetry, lyrics and short stories whenever I have time. Occasionally, I paint a little too but only because I can't draw. 🤣

Denki Kaminari (上かみ鳴なり電でん気き, Kaminari Denki?), also known as Stun Gun Hero: Chargebolt (スタンガンヒーロー・チャージズマ, Sutan Gan Hīrō Chājizuma?), is a student in Class 1-A at U.A. High School, training to become a Pro Hero. Denki is a friendly, social, and energetic boy who likes to hang out with people. He is rather casual when interacting with others, including the generally unfriendly Katsuki Bakugo, although he's also not above petty complaining or overreacting if feeling annoyed or shocked enough. Denki may come off as blunt and reckless at times, but is always well-meaning. Denki is a person who helps people be more of themselves and become more comfortable doing what they like to do. This is shown when Denki compliments Kyoka's skill with multiple musical instruments during preparation for the U.A. School Festival. Denki is somewhat flirtatious trying to pass himself off as a smooth talker, denki is also a bit of a jokester and likes to tease others with playful comments. Overall, it seems that Denki has an interest in appearing cool and trendy in order to impress people, but has a shallow understanding of how to do so properly. Whenever Denki exceeds his wattage limit, he loses his ability to discharge energy, with his entire personality changing into that of a giggling idiot for a certain period until he reverts back to normal. In this state, he is always giving thumbs-ups, as a way to let others know that he is fine.

Why do poets talk to the moon?

The moon acts as a reminder that beyond the place that we place our feet on — there is much much more out there and virtually infinite more other places that are true as ours. You need instruments to see the surface of other planets but the moon is right there. And its like friend that can just listen to your worries — like a hug from someone you miss, or like the first semi-warm day of the spring. I think it is just so interesting how the moon can be so enchanting and people can have many different views on it when it's just a big white rock in space with light reflecting off of it. 🌙 💙.

What is your band's warm-up song before playing live??

We don't have a particular song but Panz usually rips into some early Misfits song and he'll play it over and over again until someone (usually me) throws a beer at him... 🤣
On my end, it's always Dio's "Stand Up And Shout." At this point, I could probably play it in my sleep. The vocals and other instruments play in my head while the guitar sections have become somewhat of a personal ritual. =P

Good morning Lex. Question: I am looking for some music software where I can work on my improvisation skills for myself. I heard Band In The Box has made improvements and has much of the Real Book recorded where you can mute various instruments and play along. What would you recommend? /Alex

Hey Alex. As I understand, Sibelius might be a good option for its ease of use and it has a solo mode which allows the muting of instruments. I am not too familiar with Band In The Box as I have been using various versions of Pro Tools for the past few years. I prefer Logic Pro but many studios still use Pro Tools and I have been "persuaded" to move in that direction. Any of the mentioned allow muting but Sibelius may have the quickest learning curve of these choices. I will include a few links so you can compare the prices and features. Lastly, I mentioned a few alternatives here which may also be helpful:

🌟Jamming Sessions
When it comes to losing myself or fully immerse myself to the point that I forget about the existence of time, one of the more commonly performed activity in groups would be jamming sessions.
Given that the world isn’t plagued by the pandemic, I used to gather a handful people that are experienced in music and the uses of instruments with another handful of people that has zero knowledge in music. Then, I’ll leave the floor open to everyone’s choice of music as we jammed to the songs we may or may not heard of.
This can be challenging as everyone has to be very open and accepting of others’ choices of musics — However, this is also one of the methods I used to pull them out of their depressed state as everyone tries to jam in the songs of their choice, it allows them to feel that their opinions is valid and they could feel ‘alive’ again.
🌟Dancing
I’m bad at choreograph dances but mimicry is my best teacher. This puts me in my flow state entirely and I lose my senses of time after I’ve managed to make a few steps into any choreographed steps or even just freestyles itself.
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve forgotten the time until the sky went dark 😂
🌟Researches
This is relatively very random, but more often than not this brain of mine would just pops up a question in which I have no answers to, and that would eventually be the things listed on my ‘future researches’ list.
This is where I tend to learn more and even went out of bounds most of the time, far away from what I was taught back in school, college/university, or even in my workplace alone. With the help of Google, knowledge is free.
🌟Cooking
I am bad at cooking. Still bad as I’m still an amateur cook. But that doesn’t mean I can’t cook myself so I tried to research recipes myself and try them out.
Sometimes, once I’ve learned how to cook without the recipes, I would eventually find a way to modify the recipes to cater for various tastebuds, or to see if there will be a birth of a new item. This is where I draw the line and called the things I cook through experimentations: FrankenFoods. Judging by the name, yes, the ingredients can be very odd at times 😂
But alas, to every meal that I cook, I tend to have a crafty mind to articulate the meal themselves to make them more presentable (even though I don’t sell nor work at a restaurant in the time being) and that brings us to the next thing that makes me lose the trails of time.
🌟Photography
It’s self explanatory, but as I take photos, the essence of perfection comes into play as I want things to ‘look presentable’ and not just to trash them onto any social medias to tell what I’ve been doing, but more of a photo that is presentable even to the point that it can be on magazine covers.
Well, magazine covers is a little too far fetched but a kid could dream. And I won’t take a bad picture and excuse myself from trying again.

Should I invest or save my money

You must save before you invest. When you have enough discretionary income (it doesn't take a great amount to get started), you'll have to acquaint yourself with investment vehicles, financial instruments and opportunities which may be profitable. Assess risk, devise a strategy and consider fees / taxes. The best advice that I can give you is to do your homework, monitor trends closely and read as much as you can. This is a highly complex topic which requires patience, research and the proper attitude. Best of luck.

Musician. Having the talent and knowledge to play multiple instruments and to have a voice that captures peoples attention and makes them feel. Music is relatable to any emotion you are feeling at any given time. It has the power to resonate within peoples souls. Music carries memories of all sorts and attachments to moments in life that will simply be a memory whether good or bad. It brings people together and makes you feel free. To have the talent to not only play an instrument and sing a song but to also possibly contain the talent to write a song. That is poetry essentially and such a beautiful thing to put words and thoughts together that make a song, a story, to forever be there in time. Past, present and future.

Forgive me please again, after all I will write to you in English. And for the Portuguese I will write in Portuguese.
Are you asking me about the musical instruments I can play? so, I will not write in Russian, even though I know it.
I can play the synthesizer and I want to learn drums and tambourine. In principle, I want to say right away that my favorite singer is Zemfira, and naturally I like her music in some way. By the way, she is also a Tatar like me, but the truth is, I am Crimean, and she is a Tatar from Russians.
I will not write in Russian, they poison me in Russian in the ask and slander me.

On a scale of 1/10, how happy are you? And how happy do the people around you think you are?

Right now, 1. And the people around me know it. But that's because I have depression. Normally its not so bad, but i'm going through a temporary bad spike. doesnt usually last more than a couple days, but its clear im unhappy during this time.
I, personally, would say I'm about 3/10. People around me think I am the most happy, level headed, contented person, so I'd probably say 10/10, although I know a couple of people kinda know that everything isn't perfect, so for them I'd probably say 8/10
Not even drug addicts are always happy. I think people usually live in a constant state of happy/sadness flux. To truly feel happy, you need to accept your feeling of sadness too. If you are not willing to be sad, you can't feel happy either. For example, a clinically depressed person isn't actually sad. They are emotionally flat-lined and only experience a little sadness or happiness. My happiness scale would fluctuate between 1 and 10 regularly. I grief my son's disability one moment and overjoy about his new achievement right after. I used to be depressed and I couldn't process my grief nor could I enjoy his growth, and I have lost out on some beautiful moments and experiences as a parent. I think people think I fluctuate between 3-8, because I am not an expressive individual, but I am not afraid to let my feelings be shown.
I am happy to be alive, I have my family together, and health. But school and the lack of going out makes me upset at times.
I'm a 4.5/10, and I would think people think I'm a 8/10. I don't like to show any sign that I'm miserable because people don't generally care.
I'm around a 6/10, but people seem to think I'm a 1/10. I don't smile very much, so people assume I'm unhappy.
I have very few friends, but the ones I have are really cool. I'm a foreveralone guy, but that's a lot better than settling for someone. I have a crappy job, but I work with cool people and I might be getting a promotion at the end of the year. College dropout, but it allowed me to explore a part of the country I had never been to, and perhaps go to a better college and meet more people.
I recently quit doing all drugs, started working out/exercising, started playing my instruments again, started reading books again, been meditating everyday and playing the sport that I love again. I had to give up some of my druggie friends because I don't trust myself to hang with them right now but I love myself now so it doesn't really matter what I am doing. I finally found methods to deal with my procrastination and anxiety and became unstuck out of this rut I was in for the past two years.
I think part of it is due to my personality. I am an optimist so when the rough times come I know that it's only a matter of time till they end. For me, the other part is being grateful. I have many wonderful things in my life and I do my best to remember that every day. If you can take a moment and count your "blessings" things tend to seem less bleak even in the darkest times.

That's a really good question. I've tried using a creative outlet to express myself a couple of times but perfectionism would get the best of me. Probably through clothing or singing?

How many years have you been playing the violin? Do you perform music professionally?

If I say it only takes 6 months to learn and play on the violin, will you believe me?
It is said that the violin is the hardest instrument to learn, and you should learn it when you are still a kid. I disagree. I started the violin since I was 22 and it only took me 6 months to be able to play. And I know nothing about music before! Sure, I wouldn’t be able to play as nice as a professional, or as those who have learned the violin for a long time. But still, I can play my favorite songs.
Based on my experience, if you know nothing about music or haven’t played any instruments before, below is what you can achieve after 6 months .
Know how to read music notes and play simple modern songs accordingly. You can play “All I have to do is dream”, “Twinkle, twinkle little star”, “Happy birthday”, and any other songs that you have the music sheet. Depends on your skills, pick the music sheet at your level. You won’t be able to play classical music at this point.
You can play the note nice and clear, but you won’t be able to apply many techniques (as you haven’t learned that many techniques!). Hence, the sound you create might not convey much emotion. But don’t worry! A little bit more time and you’ll be able to play like those violinists you have listened to you Youtube.
What do you need to be able to play after 6 months ?
2 hours per day. Consistently. If you’re busy on certain days, you can make up for it the next day. And Sunday? You can rest! :) A decent violin. Many people started playing the violin, thinking that they should buy a cheap violin, in case they… quit! There is nothing wrong with that. But I think if you started something, and thinking there is a possibility that you might quit it, it will be easier for you to be slacking off. There isn’t enough determination. Not mention the mindset, buying a cheap violin has its other negative sides. The sound from a cheap violin isn’t that nice and accurate.

What does music mean to you?

I love music! So much so that I went to college to learn to direct music videos (even though I did well in my media classes, I eventually changed my course of study). I mostly listen to hip hop and rock. People often say smell is the sense greatest linked to memory but for me it's definitely sound and music. When I hear an older song it definitely brings me back to when I first heard it and where I was in that point in life. It often reminds me of who I was dating then and how much easier life was before growing up. Back in the Napster days, I took pride in finding new artists before anyone else. I was really into the southern hip hop (Huston, New Orleans, Atlanta, Memphis) scene around the beginning of the 00's. I once had a girl ask me how I always seemed to find the good artists no one had heard of yet, and I told her, "I usually would find a song or artist that I liked and would search out their music and that if they had and features or guest artists on their songs I would then search out that artist and their library". Not every artist is a winner. Plenty of them can have a good song or two but an overall subpar catalogue but the search was most the fun. Music is the reason I get up in the morning. I play the violin, am learning the ukulele, and sing. Sing all the time, even making random funny songs from well known tunes like Weird Al. I am happiest when I am making music.
Music is my connection to the world, I am a socially anxious person so I stay home all day, and I listen to music to get my emotions out, and if I'm listening to music in certain situations, I'll remember what happened better. I use music to connect my thoughts to other people and cope with the ever changing world around me. Music is literally all my life.
Music is going to be a bit different for everyone. It’s important to explore music and engage yourself in the medium. Music is the easiest way to connect with people and the more you know about music and the more you enjoy it the more you will be able to interact and know people on a deeper level.
For me it helps my focus, in a white noise kinda way. But as for an emotional type of meaning not much. I've always been awful at understanding what singers say in songs, so I mainly listen to the actual instruments.
Music is one of the few things keeping me alive. Music isn't always self expression but it can also be the strongest form of it. Some songs have someone's soul put into it, and others you pour your emotions in while listening. But you can't convince me that every song reflects a person's sense of self.
If feelings are like visitors, they come and go, then music is like a large train. Inside it, are many little passengers, popping their heads through the windows and waving as they pass through the jungle of your mind. In front is the locomotive, the drummer, fatherly weaving the magic into your soul with passionately brute gasps of determined love. Inside the train, the people breathe their instruments.

What does music mean to you personally?

Music, to me, is one of the most magical art forms available. My theory is that it's because music is intangible. As far as I know, the closest thing to a physical representation of music ever created is a vinyl record. It's music converted into plastic grooves, but you can't look at a vinyl and experience the song. You have to put a needle on it and amplify it and yadda yadda yadda. Here's a further example of what I mean: If I look at a painting, I can, with however much effort, understand what the artist is trying to say. Just by looking at it. But I will never be able to look at a record and understand the depth and meaning that the artist is trying to convey. I HAVE to hear it. That whole concept just continuously blows me away every time I think about it.
Personally, I don't think music means something to everyone. I've met people who genuinely don't listen to music. Like ever. They just live their lives in silence, I guess. (I don't get it, but they seem content.) But I think that just adds to the magic of music. It's almost like not everyone is able to harness it which, while tragic, is fascinating. Lastly, my inspiration often comes from what I couldn't or don't know how to express to others. In other words, I use music to say what I can't. Sometimes words alone aren't enough to illustrate a thought I have. I don't mean that my thought processes are on another level, but, rather, that I can't personally articulate some of the things I feel. Furthermore, if I could phrase my thoughts clearly, I don't know that I'd always want to. Sometimes I feel like when I share with people I'm putting a burden on them, BUT if I can phrase my thoughts in such a way that others want to hear them or that others find beauty in them, then... I feel content. But it isn't until I feel that I've properly expressed myself, while also creating something I think is worth listening to, that I'll be happy. Some may say that's not healthy, but... Well it might not be. I don't know, I'm not a doctor. I am the youngest of 4 children. My brother is a year and a half older, my sisters 8 and 10 years older. Never mind that I was reading since I was 4 years old, it always felt like everybody was better than me at everything, until school when that reading thing had me marked as "gifted" and made school socially awkward. We went to local concerts, our parents had gigantic record collections, and my grandparents on dad's side all played instruments and bought home organs. Dad bought a piano for the house when I was 6 years old, and we all tried to play, but I was the only one who kept going.
A crutch, mostly. It's basically all I've ever been good at, at least to any useful degree. It's a reason to get up in the morning, a reason to hustle every day, a thing to connect with other humans over, I kinda rely on music to just exist.

In the student musical I'm a part of there are several sections: Stage, dance, band, prop builders, PR (💙), cooks, makeup, sewing, sound / lights and party-fixers. Imagine you were gonna apply to join, which of those sections speak to you the most? Why? 🎭👨‍🍳📸🎺💃

Cooking and sewing probably band is usually the wind instruments and I’m horrid at all that. 😂 If it were guitars, I’d be down.
