Say something about your city!

YouuuBelongWithMe’s Profile PhotoRishiroxxx
Delhi!!! I was born in such a place. A place where you will find common people to special people. This is the place where history has collided with each other, from ancient times to modern times. The food here is quite good for any person. Here you get from laborers to tourists in every way. City of Cities - It is named by the Indian government because 7 cities used to live here. Every building & monuments here touches the sky and collides with the clouds. Night life is quite enjoyable and relaxing. The crime rates are so high that no matter how long the hands of the law are, neither you can't touch it nor you can catch it. Every street here tells its own story. Pollution and population is so much that you can feel it that way. The transportation facility is very strong. Education is fine but healthcare sector is not as good as it is told by the advertisement here. In the end, I would like to say that you should come to Delhi and become the heartbeat of this city.

Is English an easy language to learn?

It has a very broad vocabulary drawn from many languages over some 2000 years. These include Latin, Greek, German, French, Scandinavian; more recently (last few centuries) Indian and other Asian languages; and nowadays a lot of Americana - which tends to ignore etymology with a very few, rather peculiar results. Plus others: algebra is close to its Arabic root, for example. This polyglotism gives English many of curious spelling and pronounciation results - e.g.:
- Ruff and rough rhyme with each other and with tough, but not with through.
- Through rhymes with too, two and to) but not or bough
- Bough rhymes with bow the gesture but not bow the knot, which rhymes with no.
The language has a lot of formal grammar rules, as most languages do, and they allow you to write very elegant, accurate, clear text, and to speak very accurately, mellifluously and concisely; but taken too far they can make everyday speech sound a bit stilted.
On the other hand, English does not assign genders to nouns, as happens in French. It does have irregular verbs but the verb constructions generally are fairly straightforwards.
Neither does English have generic and familiar forms of the personal address you, as in German and French. Just to make it more fun, the British Isles encompass four native languages of which one, Welsh, is still spoken and written widely if only within Wales; and even just the English of England comprises many accents and dialects. Not the easiest nor the hardest.
Some of the hardest don't even use their voices. If you can't whistle you would be very hard put to say anything in whistle language of sfyria on the greek isle of Evia. 🙃😈 Except when that word is drawn from another language and follows the rules of the language of Origin. Like Octopus and Octopi. And we deal with gender assignment differently from many languages, although in my view a more logical manner than some.
And using different Anglo words for the farm animal and the French derivative to the animal as food is another sticking point. Confusing for those with another European language as a first Language.. Nonsensical to someone starting with an Asian language base. Just even think about "there, their and they're" many English speakers don't know the difference
It would be confusing to learn, my sister in law has foreign students every year who stay with her and go to school to learn English, they come from France, Spain, Brazil Italy and most of them have had more than one language already, they all told me that it was very difficult and complicated compared to other languages, however they all successfully learned.

Is lawyer a career of the future? Is it worth studying in law at university? According to you 🤔 -A lost high school girl

I personally only had a passive interest in law, and I would never consider it a career for me. Not something I would consider doing. As someone who already went through high school, it's perfectly normal to not know what to do in life. I think it's ridiculous that society expects a teenager to understand what they want to do in life. I think they fail teens by expecting too much from them, and then act surprised when the teen becomes an adult, and is totally lost. Well, no wonder. You don't know how a teenager's mind works, and you're expecting them to be an adult when they're not even done being a teenager yet.
If you have to take a gap year - take a gap year. If you have to do deep thinking - do deep thinking. Just don't study something because it makes good money. Will the money be worth it if you're going to suffer mentally? Because it's not worth it. The money can give you more freedom, more opportunities, and it can make you happier, but it won't be sustained happiness. Meaning, you won't be able to find the happiness from within. It'll only be happiness you get from other things, and that will not work.
I know we may hear terms like "career of the future" but to be honest, how can we determine what's the future? At this rate, technology is the future, but what if AI develops faster than expected, and puts programmers out of work in a couple decades - as opposed to several decades?
I say, study what you're passionate about, and go from there. With passion comes determination. With determination comes passion. You'll see the world much more clearly, and openly. You may not even wanna work for someone else because you're just so passionate with what you do, that you wanna make it your own business.

Is lawyer a career of the future? Is it worth studying in law at university? According to you 🤔 -A lost high school girl

Just know it will typically take 7 years to become a lawyer. That is a massive student loan debt to take on before you actually start practicing law and making a paycheck.
“Average Student Loan Debt for Law School
Law school graduates leave school with close to $150,000 in total student loan debt on average.”
Sure lawyers make good money. But it is long tough hours in legal libraries and courtrooms. You have to weigh the cost of the student loan debt vs the benefits, down the road, for making good money.
One thing is for sure. There is always work for divorce lawyers unfortunately.

Thinking about the time I took 3 hours to get ready for a date with this guy who seemed very interested in my law career, but at the very end asked me if I would assist him with court marriage with this other chick.

And then you realized that " Late night series are far better than late night chats, Feelings waste karny sy to behtar hai time waste karlo " 😂

Sovereign Citizens. Your thoughts?

Freffster’s Profile PhotoFreffster
Let’s go back in time to the late 1700’s. We were effectively a collection of sovereign citizens. When our Constitution went into effect in 1789, we became a sovereign nation of individual citizens governed under a set of laws.
The current people who claim sovereign are mildly amusing at best and downright dangerous at worst. I’ve seen traffic stops where they spout off a bunch of rhetoric they found online. Some claim they are “travelers” and not drivers. Sometimes they take off and put other cars at risk. A youtuber (gamer?) Donut Operator calls them “boat captains.”
Really, nobody technically has to obey any law. But if they choose to do what they want, there are consequences to those actions. They can say their rhetoric while being arrested, in court, and after conviction on the way to jail/prison. They can even preach to their cellmates if they want. In the end, they will fall under the same laws as other citizens.

What would be the first thing you'd do if you won the lottery?

I would be in total shock as I am good at determining statistical probabilities. So I would never play a lottery in the first place. It’s a complete waste of money.
But if I did, I would hire a law firm, a tax accountant, a media relations person, and finally someone with experience in setting up a not for profit. Then I give every last penny away.
