Any miracle of Ayatul qursi?

I don't know about miracle but Ayal Ul Qursi sure has saved me a lot of times in situations. It's a tiny event nothing compared to what I've actually been through but once I remember, me and my friend had to walk towards home from college cuz of some strike. And while traveling along we came across two men on a motorcycle who started following us and of course passed some comments and asked for number. No one else was on the same path and I thought of knocking them with a stone or something but that too wouldn't be so effective. I could feel the adrenaline rush, didn't know what happened but suddenly there popped a voice in my head telling me to recite Ayat ul qursi which I did. And as those men started approaching us, out of no where as soon as I finished reciting ( tension may ptani pari kya thi ) a transport van came by and we quickly got on it. Tada

I've been irritated by the sounds of a motorcycle at night since my youth. It's annoying when a mosquito buzzes near my ear. And so I don't remember anything like that anymore.

I can't stand loud and crying children. Honestly, everytime the neighbor's kids start a havoc outside, I am forced to close the windows shut and I don't care if I seem cynical or bitter in this matter, I have a high sensitivity when it comes to certain type of environmental sounds and I can't escape these noises for several hours, which is awful in summer.
This and the infuriating noises when someone thinks it's absolutely okay to race through our urban streets with a motorcycle at night. I also get instant anxiety when I hear fighting cats nearby, since I am scared that my own feline friend is involved in them. I am also annoyed by people who talk loudly on their phone in public spaces or listen to their music without being considerate of others.
To make it short: I hate people. xd

Hypothetical situation: I break every bone in my body and end up in a cast from head to toe after trying to do some incredible tricks with my motorcycle! The question is: what could you write on my plaster to make fun of me?

Why is it that every single day now I tell you to stop sending me this. Like why can't you just stop the first time.

Can you afford a car? If affordability is the only iffy then maybe something with high gas mileage like a scooter / ebike / motorcycle to visit the city more?

I don’t drive. It’s easy to get to the city. Short bus or train trip away. It’s just that there’s no way back until the next morning so I have to stay out all night. It’s fun once in a while. I’m due for a trip soon probably.

The smile that formed on her colorful lips conveyed all her happiness in being close to the heroine.

What's the scariest scenario you've ever faced?

It occurred some years ago after a motorcycle accident. I was always very active but my doctors thought that I would never walk again. That was a frightening prospect for someone who could hardly sit still for more than a few minutes. After several surgeries and physical therapy, I was able to regain my mobility. A very slow process and I still have some nerve damage but fortunately, I am no longer limited and I have resumed my normal activities. All things considered, it was a mixed blessing. I started to work out regularly and I am probably in better physical shape now than I was before the accident. Life can be stranger than fiction. Perhaps stranger than yours truly too. 🤣

If you go with your car to park it, you have the window open, and suddenly a guy with a motorcycle comes out and says "That car is horrible", what do you do? do you ignore him or say something to him?

I'd just smile and say "to each their own! Cool bike though!" :)
I know my car isn't to everyone's taste lol but as it was my grandad's, I'm a little sentimental towards it!
Plus for me it's perfect :)

How do you find and learn the positives in bad experiences?

It is a matter of perspective. For example, poverty inspired me to pursue higher education, embark on a rewarding career and improve my circumstances. I was born penniless but I did not have to remain that way. A motorcycle accident could've left me in a wheelchair and wallowing in self-pity. I saw it as another challenge to overcome and with the aid of competent surgeons and therapists, I was able to regain my mobility. That situation put me on the path of meditation, regular exercise, weight training and martial arts. In "failed" relationships, I examined what went wrong, what should be avoided and what might increase the chances of success in future relationships. From my vantage point, when we view life's setbacks as opportunities, every negative consequence opens another portal toward a positive transformation and *learning* from them becomes second nature. I will surely face new obstacles. Some will appear insurmountable and fate is free to hurl as many difficulties as it chooses. Good, bring it on. As long as I have a pulse, there will be no excuse to retreat or ignore the lessons which may present themselves. In "Twilight of the Idols," Nietzsche put it this way: "What does not kill me makes me stronger."

Would you rather ride a motorcycle 🏍️, take the train 🚃, or drive a car 🚗?

alpharean’s Profile PhotoChatter Box
Even though I got my drivers license last week I'd still pick train to be honest! This since I don't have a car right now and probably won't have for years to come. It just isn't really worth it when you're a student in a city which gives you plenty of opportunities to bike everywhere and take the train or bus when you're going out of town 🚃

Do you have a driver's license? Do you drive? What do you drive? (... I don't think the style vehicle, defines you. I find for most, a vehicle is merely to get from point A-Z. I respect that) ...Scooter, motorcycle, Battery, Hybrid, impact, mid-size, luxury, SUV, truck, or sports-car?

I don't, it is the aim for the end of this year though! I like suv's personally and I'd probably go hybrid. There's not many places that offer charging over here yet so wouldn't go electric until it was more widely available.

Нет, не умею водить машину. А в будущем может быть да, хочу научиться..
А пока я только велосипед вожу.

How do you feel about people with disabilities?

I admire their resolve. There was a short period in my life when I was partially disabled (long story, motorcycle accident) but I was fortunate enough to make a full recovery. There are still days when I have to struggle (nerve damage, spinal fusion) but for the most part, I've been able to resume my normal activities and all things considered, I have nothing to complain about. Those who struggle daily with permanent disabilities deserve the utmost respect and support. They are a true inspiration... 👍👍👍

What’s the most expensive item of clothing you own?

GlindaBells’s Profile PhotoPumpkin Spice Glinda
One of my riding jackets (Helite Leather Airbag Jacket $1050.00 USD). It has airbags stitched in that deploy upon hard impact. The manufacturer says that it will not deploy at low speeds. Thankfully this is true because I've fallen off of my motorcycle at low speeds (practicing low speed maneuvers aka poppin wheelies and such) the airbags didn't deploy. This is good news because once it deploys, the jacket is kaput.

Inspired by recent events described on ask: Do you know how to change a flat tire? When was the last time you did it? Details?

Neo_gs’s Profile PhotoNeo
Just this past weekend I had to plug my tire, I ran over a piece of a pallet wood. Prior to that, over the summer I caught a piece of metal in my sidewall on the interstate. There is no plugging that so I had to use my spare. I've also had to plug motorcycle tires. Those you can just simply change on the side of the road.
When I was about 17ish I was embarrassed by my then gf's father for not knowing how to change or plug a tire. Her and I were out on and about when I hit some debris, puncturing my tire. When he made fun of me for my ignorance I pointed out the fact that his daughter didn't know either. LOL (I was a punk kid SMH)
He made it abundantly clear that it was only because she was with me that he was there. He taught her and me how to change the tire and later on, (after I apologized and thank him) he taught me how to plug a tire among other things. It was a blessing looking back at it.

Here is a question up for debate, you buy insurance to keep your car, motorcycle and scooter on the road. Should pay insurance if you ride a push bike on the road?

not only that
make them get registered and pay tax for taking up road space instead of cycle lanes which they don't use
they cycle on the footpath
make them do tests that show how a red light is for cyclists as well as motorists
and jail them for using mobile phones while cycling

Do you prefer summer or winter? Why?

Summer because it allows me to enjoy my favorite things, camping, hiking, & shooting targets. But then again I’m able to do all of those things during the winter also.
Summer everyday! Its warm and sunny and you can wear just shorts and no shirt and not be cold. Days are longer so you can stay out and its still light and nice. Summers the best! Winter. There’s something so magical about snow, it makes me feel like a kid again. Everything is so silent and peaceful, it’s like an entirely different world. Driving through it is less magical, however.
Autumn, short as it may be it's a beautiful mix of hot sun, chilly wind and days are just starting to shorten. And mushrooms. Love mushroom hunting.
Winter, lovve winter. I drive with my windows down in the dead of winter because it's so refreshing. Then I'll blast my head and do it all over again. Winter, as breath taking as it literally is, is amazing to me. I loathe the heat with the passion of a thousand suns. You cannot take off your skin when it's too hot which is exactly how hot it feels here in the South every summer. If you are cursed enough to end up in a/with a car with no AC in the dead of a southern summer it feels like torture...the heat, the sweat, the funk. Burning your legs on your car seat...wanting to wear shorts but being absolutely murdered by the mosquitoes...summer is absolutely the definition of misery to me. Truly hate it.
There are others out there. Every time I explain this to people, I get the weirdest looks, like I'm from another planet. Summer. I don't like feeling cold, I don't like wearing layers, I don't like being covered up from head to toe, I don't like dealing with rain and snow, I don't like the inevitable colds and flus I always seem to pick up, I don't like the shorter, darker days.
Summer 100%. I can deal with bad weather, but I can’t deal with the cold when I have limited heating, and I hate dark days/long nights. When I first hear birds singing again in spring and colour popping from flowers, it honestly makes me so happy.
Summer 1,000%. I ride motorcycle and am just generally obsessed with sunshine and patios and such. I like the change of seasons and cool weather until around January, and then I’m just seasonally depressed for ~4 months. I probably shouldn’t live where I do, but I can’t think of a state/city I’d prefer to live in, so I just stay out and whine about it. 🤷🏼‍♀️ Summer. We only really get one rrally hot week here, the rest of the time ot sits aroubd 25C so its not unpleasant, I can bike to work in sunlight, spent lazy afternoons in pub gsrdens or reading in the park by the river, and its full of fun events like frstivals and outdoor plays and concerts.

Worst injury you've had.

My worst injuries (disc herniations, nerve damage, etc.) were from a motorcycle accident - a few surgeries, physical therapy and my sh!tty attitude got me through it. For a while, I wasn't as sweet and cuddly as I am these days... =D

Do you have a pre-planned evac point in case of local riots or destructive weather? How many miles away? Could you walk it?

Neo_gs’s Profile PhotoNeo
I do. I could ruck it in extreme cases. My load out would have to be modified down as my main evac plan is motorcycle based. Having multiple evac plans is an absolute must, one is not at all sufficient. Motorcycles are easy to maneuver especially through hoards of panicked civilians. They get awesome fuel milage and are able to carry more than enough life saving essentials. I could also take a passenger in a pinch if needed. Ideally, I'd be able to take my truck though 🤙🏻

How tough on people are you?

I got people under my thumb. I do most of my best work ordering other people around. I am used to having the upper hand on people. Wrecked on a motorcycle when a van pulled out in front of me. I couldn't avoid hitting the van. Broken ribs, lacerated liver, concussion, and a compound fracture of the femur. About a week in the hospital. Had 4 surgeries to fix my leg, but still in pain every day, and that was over 2 years ago. Less than a year after the accident I did a 6000 mile cross country trip, on my new motorcycle.
When trying to enforce government policy, a client of mine in a scattered site shelter hit me with a wooden chair (which broke), then asked me to give one good reason why he shouldn't just choke me and leave me there. I said because I'm the only one left in this world actively trying to make his life better, and that I'm the only one who really cares about him. He paused, then broke down crying. I then held him until he calmed down.

What’s the fastest you’ve ever gone on land (in a car/on a motorcycle)?

(That I’ve done) 100 easy on the stretch of Highway between Midland to El Paso, Texas. (Someone else driving) My cousin in Wales. 🤦‍♀️ All I know is we were going past 130, and I was terrified. “Slow this shit down, man!” I’d rather walk than ride with him!

How did your parents fail in preparing you for adulting?

We had no guidance. We just drifted. It's a miracle that my siblings and I all became successful and stayed out of trouble.
My parents never prepared me for anything. I still don't know how money works. I remember being about 6 or 7 and looking at my father and thinking if that's what it's like to be a father I never want to be one. And looking at my parents and thinking if that's what it's like to be married I never want to do it. I've never been married and I don't have any children.
They taught me how to think for myself. Every question I asked when I was younger, the answer would start out with "well, let's think about it..." and included questions so that I could draw my own conclusion. Because of this, I found that I am much quicker than most to understand people's motives, figure out directions, and make a decision.
Both my parents were overweight and never exercised and they wondered why I (out of three siblings) wound up overweight. They also had my older siblings do soccer but gave up on that when I came around. They also didn't have friends so I had no good examples as far as socializing went. My father never taught me how to shave properly either, just handed me an electric razor that always left my face red. I think I resent the fact my father never did any tradition father-son activities with me such as: fishing, camping, hiking motorcycle riding, car repair, cooking, hunting, etc.
My parents grew up with nothing and life was hard for them. But they tried to provide us with everything and made life as easy and as comfortable for us as possible. It made all of us very lazy and self-indulgent. As the youngest, I snapped out of it early on because I hated my sisters so much while growing up that I strived to be the opposite of them. My sisters are now middle aged but they are still unbelievably lazy and self-indulgent. And they will complain constantly if they have to work a little hard. I do catch myself slipping into old habits now and then but I manage to catch myself most of the time and correct myself.
They do too much for me. I never get a chance to cook because mom's too concerned I'll make a mess or that we'll have a subpar dinner one night and starve or something. Any time I ask for help, they take it as a cue to do the entire task for me rather than answer the question I ask. They give me no incentive to move out because they're scared I'll have to deal with roommates I won't like, or end up living in a bad part of town.
I never had the chance growing up to build that social circle of friends a lot of people had or develop my social skills, I got into the mindset of "Why make friends and get attached? I'm not going to be here very long." And for the most part that was true, we would live in a location for a month to 6 months and move. He worked a lot of temporary jobs and couldn't find enough work back then to get things steady.

Do you think pain is what gives you strength???

After my motorcycle accident, numerous surgeries, physical therapy and my refusal to take pain medications, yes, I would say that pain was one of my sources of strength. It certainly pushed me throughout my recovery. It eventually subsided and I emerged stronger than ever - which can only mean that other sources exist and perhaps, I was aware of them but I wasn't as appreciative as I am now.

When did you start cooking? What kinds of things did you start out making? How have your cooking skills improved since then? 👩‍🍳

Always watched mom from very little. Around 10 it switched to my sister in-law. At the same age my father took me into the bakery where he worked and I watched him bake.
Occasionally my father asked me to do easy things like kneading the dough, rolling cinnamon rolls (my father actually hated cinnamon), and egg white washing before baking. Of course he never let me around the big mixers or even the rotating oven. Mom on the weekends occasionally baked as well. Even had a few recipes in a couple of cook books published with the help of my sister in-law. Mom couldn't write pretty much anything. My sister in-law being a vegetarian of course never cooked any meat. My half brother usually cooked that. Yet he obviously never watched mom cook, so my sister in-law suggested that I cook. It was always just simple things like fist sticks and hamburgers.
Around 12 I was left on my own. Mom made prepared dinners for me and froze them. All I had to do was heat them up. Yet breakfast was something I had to do. So I occasionally made eggs and bacon if I had the time which was a rare occasion. Mostly cereals. And mom made up a lunch bag for me for school. Jr high was the same. Yet dad had me picking walnuts with him to make brownies at his place. Just simple baking. Yet shelling the walnuts and even insuring those walnuts were good was a choir. Dad had me working with him at a different job. This time a doughnut shop! These little jobs I did was mostly serving because the oil fryer was dangerous. As I found out years later when he himself got badly burned and forced into retirement. At 16 I had a bad motorcycle accident. Mom could no longer take care of me so I was forced to live with my half brother and his wife again. Dad couldn't do it either because he worked nights. He really wasn't supposed to have me working with him anyway on the weekends. It was almost a year before I really could do anything. So cooking even at my half brothers place was out until I got out of the caste. It was a long painful 10 months. When I got the caste off, guess who had to start cooking again? I really wasn't happy with that arrangement. So I picked up a job at a local Italian restaurant. At first it was just simple dishwashing for the first few months. My half brother was happy because the owner let the workers take home whatever was left over. Usually it was pizza. Yet occasionally some really good pasta dishes were available. That's where I learned to make the Italian dishes that I do make today. From there I had worked on and off in various restaurants. A couple of five star restaurants at that yet never more than a precook. Yet I always watched and learned. When I was 8yo as it quickly became more chore around the house to make dinner every night for the hole family. My parents started me off standing on stepping stools and doing everything under constant directions and I quickly picked up cooking.
I honestly can't remember ever not being able to cook.
