What was the last thing you bought to improve the place where you live? What do you think will be the next such thing you'll buy? Doesn't matter how big or small 💸🏠

TobbeAsks’s Profile PhotoTobbe
I got some plants and some chairs. I have a largish porch, but nothing on it. Tbh, I think I went a little overboard 😅 But it’s been nice sitting outside in the front yard where I can see the mountains ⛰️
I don't know that there'll be anything for a while. We're going to look for another place in another state, so most likely any future improvement efforts will go to the other place.

🏠by the sea or 🛖close to the mountains

both …. ✨because sometimes you will want to be high in the mountains…. and listening
the beautiful sounds of the mountains….
and sometimes at sea….
but more by sea….
listening to the whisper of the sea….
inhaling the salty aroma of the sea….while enjoying the sunsets…. walking the coast….feeling the wind playing in your hair….
to be madly in love ….in each other arms….to feel ourselves happy in the world….to be a most beautiful ….because we are together….
talking about everything in the world….and be together….❤️

Do you trust easily or no?

I've been abused and hurt far too many times to simply accept what people tell me at face value. Words are cheap. I respect ethical people with integrity who walk the walk and their positive and high minded rhetoric matches their actions. Good words without sincere and meaningful actions that benefit humanity, are worthless.
Love (Corinthians 13:1)
If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a ringing gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have absolute faith so as to move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.…

Do you like travelling?

I am a tireless traveler. Travel makes me feel good, gives me energy, and makes me happy.
I was just in ayyuthaya (ancient city near Bangkok) I only had a rough idea of how to get around and I rented a bicycle instead of a motorbike cus I was a cheapskate. It ended up being 100x harder to get around and 100x more confusing. But the fun was that I just went where I felt was right. At each of the ruins, I had lovely conversations with other travelers about their trips and the locals are always helpful when I was absolutely lost.
Travelling may bring people joy through many ways. You may like to see beautiful cities and their landmarks, or simply their architecture and general atmosphere. You may want to see how different nature is around the globe and how surprising it may be to see the great outdoors. You may want to engage in different activities, from paragliding to dance classes, from rafting to riding camels in the desert, from balloon trips to hiking on mountains... you may want to experience different cultures and foods, you may want to know the history of the world in museums, or you may just want spend a few days relaxing in a beach or in a secluded lodge... you may want to know people from other places or you may want to go to big parties in a place where nobody knows you. These are some of the reasons why people travel, and only a few of them are applicable to me, for instance. Maybe some of these will appeal to you, or maybe none at all. It's for those moments that you just can't experience by staying home. I just got back from a trip where I could watch the sun come up while overlooking cliff dwellings at Mesa Verde and nobody else was around. There was a buffalo munching on grass right outside my cabin one evening. I've had too many extraordinary experiences to count over the years and that's what keeps me getting out there to places I've never been to.
My main hobby was photography. I then got into travel, and found that they were very complementary hobbies. The thrill of enjoying and taking in some place new is a cool buzz, especially when you have a camera in your hand and want to capture the moment to help relive it later on.
It's really hard to explain to be honest, it's just a feeling of exhilaration and excitement I get when I get to see new places and exploring an unknown (to me) area. It's a kind of passion which I don't really experience when doing anything else. The world we live in is so beautiful and there's so many amazing things to see, and I just enjoy seeing them :) whether it be interesting sights, cities, nature, or just people. At the end of the day we only have so much time on this Earth, I figure I may as well try and see as many interesting places as possible!

Hey guys,Have you ever fallen in love with someone very perfect for you but never worked because you couldn't make them yours? If yes, how does it feel, if no, how can you avoid falling in love with someone you won't have?

If you could create a new planet, what would you name it? What would it be like (terrain, temperature, lifeforms, etc)?

LadySpiritWolf’s Profile PhotoKatherine
I welcome you to Thundiestea, a moon orbiting a gas giant. The gas giant lie at the very edge of the goldilocks zone, making Thundiestea a very cold and snowy place. It also has a very strong magnetic field, resulting in auroras lighting up the skies almost everywhere.
Despite it's harsh climate, the planet's various mountain ranges and forests are home to a variety of different creatures. The apex predators of this place are dragon-like creatures, with large wings and covered in fuzzy white and blue feathers on portions of their bodies to keep warm. Underneath lies a layer of thick and black scales.
The other creatures have had to adapt to survive, either growing to huge sizes if they chose to stay at the surface or embracing a life in cavernous tunnels within the mountains. Amongst the underground-dwelling creatures you can find scattered societies of primitive bidepal aliens with thick, white fur. They will eventually develop techniques and tools to tame and ride the ferocious beasts that lurk above, making them the dominant species. Their time however, has not yet come. 🌌❄️

I originally come from a city that is built close to the ocean. Now that I study I live close to the mountains, which I don't enjoy as much as in my home-town. I especially miss the ocean air and that summer is never really too hot.

Do you ever have dreams that feel so real and you're disappointed when you wake up that it was just a dream?

Unfortunately, at this stage of my life, my dreams are not worth remembering. However, as a teenager, I can remember some of my dreams in vivid detail. One of my favorite dreams was when I was an eagle and flew all around the world visiting all of the famous cities, lakes, oceans, mountains and streams. Of course it was a great disappointment to awake while flapping your arms in bed and thinking: "am I insane?" And then thanking God that nobody saw me flapping my arms. Can you even imagine trying to explain to your parents or siblings why you flap your arms while sleeping? lol

Have you ever lived life? If so give me an example.

hmmm maybe a little, I have swum in the North Sea, the great Southern ocean, the Pacific and the Indian Ocean. I have had lots of skydiving and bungee jumps, climbed a few mountains. I have represented Tassie in three sports and managed an apprenticeship and uni along the way so yeah maybe a little 🤷🏻‍♂️

What's your favorite memory?

My memory isn't what it used to be...kinda fades in and out.
So many good ones are rated R...not sure if that's selective, or just happenstance.
I can say that when I moved to Oregon, 10 years ago...I have a distinct memory of the moon, rising over the mountains, just as I got into the state, and it was amazing.
The first piece of art I did here, once I was settled in, was a tribute to that moment.

Reflection Of The Day!

"Do You Still Love Me?" by Alex
Have you ever lost someone you love? Someone whom you would do anything for, even if it meant sacrificing your own life to save their life? And yet, when they leave us, we feel empty... a void... and a deep sense of loss, as if our own internal flame has been extinguished. We may even sense that we have lost our way, and our will to live.
And as time passes, we wonder where they are, and if they are ok. We spend countless hours reminiscing, reflecting and recalling all the good times that we shared together. And we wonder what our loved one is thinking. We pray that they are ok and free from pain. We ask: "are they resting in peace?" Mostly, we just want to reach out and hug them and tell them how much we love them and what they mean to us. Then we make them a solemn promise, that we will never forget them for as long as we live.
And each day, as the sun rises and the sun sets, we try to walk in their shoes as we imagine what their final thoughts might have been. And that is when this haunting refrain echoes within our mind, as we hear their voice cry out: "Do you still love me?"
I still love you
I will always love you
I will love you until:
The mountains plummet towards the sea
The oceans run dry
The stars fall from the sky
I take my last breath
And… if God so choose,
I will love you after death and for all eternity 💗

We don't exist at quantum level. You are displaying a picture of whatever you want me to see or whatever i wanna see. Not only you and me but everything that is made of matter. And we all are equally unaware of it. It's mind boggling, isn't it? You'll get it after popping bunch of acid in the middle of jungle mountains or in the middle of nowhere. You'll see that you're being watched by every atom of this universe.

I enjoy Cathedrals with vaulted ceilings and suspension bridges like the Golden Gate bridge in San Francisco. But my all time favorite architecture are log cabins situated in the mountains or near a lake. If I could build my dream house it would be a log cabin with a mountain view and lake frontage.

Are you planning on taking a vacation this summer? ☀️

We are planning to visit Gatlinburg Tennessee for 7 days in July. We will stay at an inn and plan to hike and visit Pigeon Forge and the Smoky Mountains. Hopefully we can attend a Bluegrass festival or a concert featuring country music.
We have not planned our itinerary yet. Because of Covid we decided to travel by car this year and to vacation in a red state so our vacation does not get ruined with these mindless government lockdowns and forfeiture of personal freedoms. Depending on the outcome of the 2022 elections we might travel to Ireland next year for one week. I promised Anne I would take her to Ireland someday and I intend to fulfill that promise within the next 3 years.
How about you Steph? Will you be able to take a vacation this year?
Are you planning on taking a vacation this summer

A space to share whatever you want.

I had written in my diary growing up “I wish to glow up.” Watching those girls that look like the soft winter snow, falling like breadcrumbs with faces that would put Aphrodite to shame, I wanted that. Hair flowing like the quiet river when she’s about to meet the sea, I wanted that because all my life I was taught to want that. The magazine covers that lay around stacked on top of each other in the drawers of my heart had these women. The movies that I was in love with, advertisements and billboards made me feel like I was stuck in the hour, physically so far, could never move the bar. I saw myself as a ruin, a battlefield of scars. An abandoned city, yet filled with ghosts. A city that badly needed reconstruction. So I took the ‘before’ photos because we have learnt to divide life into pieces. Before this and after that, as if life is big enough to be divided. And every Monday I said to myself, now is when you begin, start now. But I could never be like those girls, girls that feel like the morning dew, like sunshine breaking through the forest. Those girls that feel like the soft winter snow. I was still the city, the ghost town that badly needed reconstruction. My roads were falling apart and the houses had cracks. I could never be like those girls in glass houses. But, did they ever teach you about the ruins of Giza, Colosseum and Konark, how the Great Wall is falling apart but is still great? Tell me how beautiful the river looks when it’s slashing through the mountains, not caring for grace or beauty, how her conviction is what makes her beautiful. Or how Aphrodite was never really the goddess of beauty. All she believed in was love and her love is what made her beautiful. I did not worship my city until I realised that for hundreds of years, they had been trying to find the lost cities of Atlantis and Dwarka. I finally realised I never needed to glow up. All I needed was to love myself and my beautiful city.

have you ever been so compelled/drawn to a place that you would consider moving and living there? 🗺✈️🏡

nurbzee’s Profile Photonurulhuda
Yes I have. As a young boy and young man, I lived in the state of Massachusetts where I attended college in the city of Boston. After getting married in 79 I discovered that whenever we went on vacation, it was either to Maine or New Hampshire where the lakes, mountains, great hiking, skiing and beautiful coastlines were located. So in 94 we purchased 2 acres of land on Bow Lake in Strafford New Hampshire and built beautiful house overlooking the pristine lake where the loons laughed and lake trout played.
While living in New Hampshire we had access to all kinds of outdoor activities such as boating, fishing, ice skating, hiking, cross country skiing, down hill skiing and water skiing. And all we had to do was walk outside our door and all of those God given blessings were right at our fingertips. However, as we were getting on in years, we found ourselves vacationing in Key West Florida each year because of the warm weather. In 2010 we decided once again to pack our bags and relocate to the great state of Florida where we plan to spend our remaining years.

What do you do when things don't go your way?

Expecting Life to tread our way is the biggest false idea that brings unnecessary depression, frustration and sadness to people.
It is like trying to hold a palm full of sand and expecting it to be intact. The more you try to close your palm, more the sand escapes from it. Do not force your life. Let it unfold before you in the destined way. It doesn't mean that you cant have any desires or goals in life and just sit idle waiting things to happen. No, that is not the idea here. You should work on your goals and have aspiration. Work towards it putting your 100%. What is essential is that one should not get bothered about the outcome of your actions. Expectations are created by your ego and when it doesn't pan the way you have liked, it brings heart break and pain.
We all must understand and learn to flow with life. You are not destined to achieve everything that you wish or cannot be under the impression that you can get everything when you have put in your 100%.
What is destined will be be yours and you will achieve it irrespective of any circumstances. You may not get it at the time and place you wish you had, but it will be definitely materialized.
There is an old saying
“What is destined will reach you, even if it be underneath two mountains. What is not destined, will not reach you, even if it be between your two lips!"
What ever is meant for you will be coming your way, while you are led and directed toward it. You may be not aware of the influence of your surroundings and circumstances that are invisibly pushing you forward to what you are destined.
As for that which is not meant for you, you will be deflected from it as it is turned aside from you.
Go easy on yourself, for the outcome of all affairs is determined by divine decree. If something is meant to go elsewhere, it will never come your way, but if it is yours by destiny, from you it cannot flee.

Personal Profile: Where Do You Come From?

I grew up in North Vietnam in a small village near Hanoi, close to the Ba Vì mountain range. There used to be, in addition to three towering peaks, larger, densely overgrown, green jungle landscapes, rice fields and fertile soils. Specifically, plants that are still used today in traditional medicine, grow there. Two rivers flow in the west and in the east, and legend has it that the beautiful fairy Âu Cơ, ancestor of the Vietnamese and goddess of mountains, lives on the highest of the three peaks, called Dinh Vua. As far as I know, the area has now turned into a national park and is said to run a spa resort with hot springs.

What's the best holiday you've been on?

I went to Iceland recently with my boyfriend. We saw loads of scenery, waterfalls, mountains and were even lucky enough to see the northern lights. We also explored the city of Reykjavik. It was amazing and all snowy, and I wish I was back there! The whole experience was amazing (apart from the last day when I faceplanted the floor and nearly broke my nose 😂).

Maldives. I’ve already been to the Caribbean and Hawaii and they’re both the most beautiful I’ve ever been to, but I wanna visit the Maldives since I’ve never been there before, and they’re so isolated. Some place with good diving & surfing, such as Hawai'i, Fiji, Philippines, Indonesia, Australia.
England! I was able to go in 1999 and since I’d been in love with it from afar all of my life it was a dream come true. Now I want to go back desperately and hope to actually get to move there one day. It felt more like home than anywhere I’ve ever been and my heart will always long to be there.
Oregon for the redwood forests or Scandinavia for the mountainous scenery and culture.
I second Scotland, one of my favourite places for a break, the scenery along the west coast of Scotland around Glencoe, Fort William and the Isle of Skye is some of the most spectacular mountain scenery you will find anywhere in Europe. I've done a few cycle tours around Scotland, but I had planned to visit during 2020 and do some hill-walking, maybe parts of the Cape Wrath Trail and the West Highland way and a few mountains in between, the walk from Cape Wrath to Glasgow would be 650 miles, maybe this year!
Scotland! Luckily, I went about a year and a half ago for three weeks. It was INCREDIBLE. Everything I ever dreamed of. I still think about it every single day and look at my photos and videos often. Half my anecdotes start with, "When I was in Scotland...". I'm that annoying person :) I've wanted to go since I was little. I have always been a history buff, and also thought Scotland was the most beautiful place I had ever seen (I was right). I went to some archaeological sites that were on my bucket list. I was waiting for years for someone to go with me, but my friend circle has the fairly normal Canadian 4 weeks of vacation and they like going to warm beaches. So as a 30th birthday present to myself, I decided to go solo. Hopefully one day I can live there for a bit.
Both are destinations that are so far away by plane that most American tourists have neither the financial desire or ability to go there, as flights typically require a stop in NZ or Australia before you get to the island. As a result, you get far, far fewer obnoxious tourists and a much more authentic, unspoiled tropical paradise than say, Hawaii.
if we’re talking Christmas holiday, on my couch with my dog and cat watching A Christmas Carol and having some cookies and milk.
I really want to stay in one of those "over the water" hotel rooms. Maybe Bora Bora.
Switzerland and Austria. I was supposed to go around Christmas time in 2017, but I got pregnant and cancelled the trip. Someday....😭
I have always wanted to visit Egypt and see the pyramids and other ancient structures. I don't think I will ever get to.
